Smeg - No Parts No Service Horrible

I have been waiting over a month for in warranty service and parts for my SMEG dishwasher. I liked the machine until this happened. JUST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WARRANTY APPARENTLY USELESS AS THEY JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING OR PROVIDE PARTS.

Terrible

Just to add my voice to all the others saying don't buy a smug dishwasher. Design is terrible, plates don't fit in the rack and the racking is so close together the plates touch each other. Top section is designed so that you can't stack bowls and glasses fall of the sides. Cutlery drawer only has top feed so you can't wash long cutlery items in it. Nowhere to put long cutlery items and holes in the the racking mesh are so bit things just fall or poke through. Plus it just doesn't wash very well. Absolutely the most disappointing thing I've bough in as long as I can remember.

Planned Failure

Our SMEG dishwasher seems to randomly fail. No error codes just blank screen and it makes a 'peep' noise when powered up. After a few days it decides to work again for a period then stops. Thought the circuit might be getting wet so removed dried and replaced but still no action unitil the next day it lights up again! Nice looking stainless heap of junk!!

Absolute Trash

This is the worst dishwasher I’ve ever purchased. Should have read the reviews! I had the product for about 9 months and now decided to replace. It never washes properly despite trying all the settings. Although rinsing off first at least 10% have to be done manually. It also never dries. We spend countless time spending drying with a tea towel. Then there’s the cutlery basket which is located at the rear of the dishwasher making it a nightmare to fill and empty and also making it difficult to put plates in! Please don’t buy one, you will regret it.

Pile Of Rubbish

We bought a Smeg dishwasher during the first Covid lockdown as our trusty old Kenwood gave up the ghost. We thought Smeg were decent products......NO DEFINITELY NOT! I am sick and tired of it not cleaning dishes etc properly. I am constantly having to rewash everything. I've tried loading fewer items to see if it makes a difference but no, it doesn't. If just one item was put in, it would still come out dirty! And why Very disappointing. I will never by anything with the name Smeg on it ever again.

Smeg Overpriced, Overrated

I have several cheaper dishwashers most of which gave me at least 5 years service. When the last one gave up I thought I would spend more and buy a more up market machine, namely a SMEG. This I did and whilst it worked it performed fairly well. However just short of 3 years I started to get error messages - the water failed to heat. I thought change the flow through heater would solve it, First I found it impossible to get the part in the after parts market, so I could only source direct from smeg - part was quoted at £150, but with labour VAT etc total cost exceeds the price of a new machine. Because of all the hassle and time I spent on this I eventually bought a new machine and scrapped the SMEG . I would have expected to get at least 5 years trouble free from an expensive machine - very disappointed.

High-end Dishwasher

Smeg has a variety of high-end dishwasher. Features too are good. You can get plenty of choice inside the middle price range of smeg. t is convenient to use.

Worse Dishwasher

I have Smeg dishwasher 13 place dishwasher which is integrated . I always had problem with dishwaser. The RCB circuitbreaker keeps going off whenever I put my dishwasher on. I have been calling service engineers repeatedly. They always come first and say they cannot find anything and go snd dishwasher then breaks down. Then they come again and find fault and correct later. I am fed up with this model.

Built In Obsolescence

I bought a Smeg 14 place dishwasher on the advice of a salesman . We had the extra 2 yr product care replacement . It required one repair during that time .This was completed well and efficiently at no cost to myself.However.......

At 3 yrs it started to pour water all over the kitchen floor . Damaging my wooden floor and of course its now out of warranty.

Don`t be misled by the Smeg name. I think from my experience they are relying on previous good products to sell inferior short term goods.

I believe a dishwasher is not an insignificant purchase and should have a much longer expected life.
