Died After 4 Years

Purchased in Feb 2010 - on the positive side quieter than previous whirlpool washer dryer which lasted 6 years but washing did not seem quite as good from the beginning but drying worked well.

Then in the last couple of weeks had noticed the spinning had become noisier and then had a blockage in the waste pipe - whilst there was a bit of lye in the filter - not sufficient to cause a blockage but could not take out the impaler (like a mini propeller). Got that fixed but in the process had noticed rusty / oily gunk on the floor under the machine - took the back off to see this discharge down the back of the drum - clearly this had been a problem for some time and then the drum would not rotate - managed to loosen with WD40 to get it working again and called in a Bosch engineer - result was that it is irreparable. Very disappointed with the quality - had expected much better from Bosch. On the positive side because I had gone with the repair and protect Bosch plan the engineer's visit did not cost me anything as they cancel the plan if they can't repair it.

A Blockage Of Compacted Fluff In A Pipe Deep Insid

A blockage of compacted fluff in a pipe deep inside the machine stops the drier working. I have had to call out two engineers in the last six weeks to fix it. I noticed that there is no perforated fluff filter in the trap at the bottom of the machine unlike other washer/driers, therefore you cannot remove anything except buttons and coins. I do not know what I will do when the guarantee runs out and I have to pay for the call-outs myself. I regret ever buying it.

I Bought This Model Also. Have Many Other Bosch Pr

I bought this model also. Have many other Bosch products also, hence purchase. My washer drier has terrible reliability.Plagued with electronic and valve problems that can only be fixed by service engineers.Build and assembly quality is excellent, strangely enough.Glad I took out the extra(expensive) warranty option.Manufacturers were not exactly helpful or sympathetic, either.Never mind, this consumer will be indicating his displeasure by buying another makers product next time.

We Purchased A Bosch Dishwasher After Remodeling O

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher after remodeling our kitchen and were very pleased with the sound quality and effectiveness of its cleaning ability. At about the same time, it became apparent that we needed a new washer and dryer. To complete a cohesive look to compliment out kitchen, we purchased the Bosch washer and dryer as our laundry room is on the same floor as kitchen.

Very, very, very disappointed. The door to the washer does not close properly, even after multiple, repair attempts. The washer also takes FOREVER to wash. This is on the 25 min. cycle, which actually takes longer than 25 minutes. FOREVER and FOREVER. I rarely use the other cycles because I have a lot of laundry and don't have the time to wait!. Clothes do not come out that clean on the 25 min. cycles. Odors still persist and stains remain present. However, the washer is quiet.

On to the dryer, FOREVER and FOREVER. One hour is a very long time to dry one load of wash. Forget about the heavier clothes. If you open the door before the cycle is complete, the digital timer will return to its original time. FOREVER and FOREVER.

Overall, I rank my parents' 35 year old GE top loader washer and dryer as the best! You can regulate the wash time manually or throw an extra sock or washcloth that you missed at any time without interrupting anything. Their dryer dries clothes very rapidly and is nice and hot.

I would never purchase another front loader washer again. Unfortunately, this one is Bosch! The mechanical quality exists but not the efficacy necessary to clean. Even though it has high RPMs, the RPMs do not exist throughout the entire wash cycle, so you end up watching the clothes go plop, plop, plop. It seems that the rigorous movement of a top loader does a better job. I know that my electric and gas utility bills have also increased because of the longevity of utilizing these utilities in order to complete the process.

Cyclical marketing strategies exist, even though I was not a business major. Once the market becomes infiltrated with a product, it is imperative to introduce a something new. Otherwise, we'd still have my parent's 35 year old GE!

I found this review very helpful because...I am looking at this machine and also the washing machine to go with it, just what I needed to know.

Reliability Disappointing, Bosch Customer Service

Reliability disappointing, Bosch customer service poor, although retailer proving helpful so far. We also appear to have the problem with threads from the washing, in addition to towels getting stuck to the drum (to avoid this we have use a spin speed of 800rpm on a towel wash).

This Bosch Wvd24520 Washer Drier Has Been A Big Di

This Bosch WVD24520 washer drier has been a big disappointment! From day one It has been pulling threads in my washing and has ruined many items of clothing and towels! Although only 4 weeks old Bosch have not been helpful at all! I'm not sure if it is a design fault or just an isolated problem. The retailer has been very helpful and has agreed to exchange the appliance and sort it out with Bosch. Has anybody else had this problem of threads being pulled with this model?
