Wish I'd Read These Reviews Before Wasting My Money!

I bought the Hoover Nextra 6 to replace my broken Indesit after having had a very reliable Hoover machine in the past. What a mistake! It broke down after a month, I had it repaired, it broke down again, I had it repaired a second time. (I should have learnt by now and just got rid but it seemed ok. At least until the guarantee ran out, then the programme selector went loony and took on a mind of its own).

Now it can take 10 or more attempts before getting the programme I want (if at all), as it seems to prefer just to spin and not actually do any washing. (Unless you want it to spin, in which case it decides it wants to wash)

10 minutes ago I gave up asking it to wash my tea towels on a 90 degree cycle, and I put them on the daily 29 programme instead. I know it won't wash them properly on this cycle but it was the only cycle that I could get the machine to agree with me on. It's like having a mardy teenager!

Instructions for drying are as follows..... Select dry cycle, select time, press start, washer starts to fill with water again. Turn off quickly, Select dry cycle, select time, press start, washer starts to fill with water again. Turn off quickly, take a deep breath and remember that swearing is bad! Select dry cycle, select time, press start, washer starts to fill with water again. Turn off quickly.....repeat 20 times, give up, swear some more, kick washer, re-spin now soaked washing (but only if the machine wants to!), be thankful we have rubbish summers, switch heating on and hang stuff on radiators to dry.

I've decided that I'm investing in a new one tomorrow...and no Hoover, I won't be buying from you!

I bought this WM 3 years ago as a second hand appliance. I never had any problems with it. Yes, it crumples clothes if put on very fast spin or if it is too full but the drier is working perfectly and all is in good condition, no problems at all.

Only had one minor problem with this machine - I have had it for three years and only the door catch has broken. Very pleased with the machine,

I Bought The Hoover Washer/dryer In Jan 2007, Had

I bought the Hoover washer/dryer in Jan 2007, had nothing but trouble with it &, when the guarantee had run out & Hoover customer service didn't want to know me, the local machine repair man said all the 'fixes' were total bodges! I hadn't wanted to pay the Hoover charges when I felt they should have replaced the machine anyway - thank goodness I didn't! Anyway, at last, a silver lining to the 'cloud' of it finally breaking down this January (2011), I now have a new Beko machine - won't touch Hoover ever again!

My First Machine Was Replaced By Hoover, Because N

My first machine was replaced by Hoover, because no one in my area to repair. Took out insurance on replacement. I thought my problems were over, not a chance, exactly same fault with program selector. Just had it repaired, selector replaced. Used once, fault returned. Biggest load of rubbish I have ever purchased. I tell everyone not to touch Hoover. They used to be excellent washing machines!! I did not want to give any stars in rating system but I had no choice. It is really a minus score!!

What A Mistake! Took Delivery Of The Hoover Nextra

What a mistake! Took delivery of the Hoover Nextra on the 28th January. It went wrong within the week. Since then I have had a succession of engineers out, the last one was last week. They have replaced the control panel twice, the thermostats on the washer and the dryer, the pully system, the belt, and other items to boot, and although it is only the 10th of June, and an engineer came last thursday, guess what, the control panel has gone wrong again! I only use the 29 and 60 minute programmes otherwise it washes for hours. Even then it puts on whichever programme it feels like. One of the most frustrating things is when you put semi dry washing off the line in just to take the last of the damp off and it fills up with water instead of drying! This machine is a complete waste of time and money, let alone water and electricity. Absolutely dreadful.
