Waste Of Money

This is the worse think you could buy! The washing setting are ok and they do their job but the dryer function is a waste of space.

Doesn't matter what settings you put it on the clothes don't dry. They just come out hot and drenched, it's like you've washed them twice. Bloody awful! Plus the time it takes is a joke I've never know anything take so long it would be quicker to air dry your clothes.

Terrible

Inherited this machine as a built in appliance in the property I purchased recently. The worst aspect by far is that all the clothes come out terrible creased even on the delicate programme. Can't wait to get a new one which will be a different make.

8 Years Old And Still Going Strong

This machine came with the new house that we bought in September 2006, so it's more than 8 years old. In that time, only the door catch has been replaced, making it the most reliable washer/dryer that we have ever owned. It has adequate functions; does not crease the washing and on the odd occasions that we have used the dryer, it has performed well. We also have a Hotpoint dishwasher and fridge/freezer built into the kitchen in 2006 and they too have performed extremely well. Hence, we cannot really fault Hotpoint white goods and are happt to award them 5 stars.

Rubbish!

This is the worst domestic appliance I have ever bought. It has been used about 30 times and now refuses to dry. There are too many programmes none of which seem to work properly.the programmes take ages. The washer is ok I suppose but creasing is terrible. There are many items of clothing etc that I just wouldn't risk putting in it.The drying function is awful. The clothes come out boiling hot and steamy, and badly creased.I have yet to find a good combination of washing/drying programme that works.I have had to throw clothes out that have been ruined.I am thinking of getting an enginner out to repair and then giving it to charity, but would that be fair?It is probably going to the tip!a void like the plague!

Constant Problems - Poor Design

- gets stuck in drying cycle & overheats (engineer said this was because water pressure wasn't sufficient - for drying!!!! Havent had this problem with other machines)

- on/off & start/pause buttons are flimsy & don't work

- even when switched off at socket, cant open door, even after 10 minutes or more

Awful

Quite simply the most unreliable white goods equipment I have ever owned. Constant problems, dodgy electrics and prone to blockages.

Ruins Or Creases Clothes So Badly

My elderly mum bought this machine as it seemed simple to use. The first load of jumpers she washed had to go in the bin. I thought she had not put them on the right cycle so I have tried several times to improve the creasing. I have given up and now do mums wasting in my own machine. It does wash sheets and towels ok, but the drier does not get them dry. They come out boiling hot but very damp. Hopeless machine

Not Worth A Tap (if You Pardon The Pun)

Can anyone tell me how you programme this piece of junk how to wash clothes without the drying process its the only way of washing them without ruining them I have only had it 4days and I have ruined a lot of clothes. The only good thing is that you can turn it off,

Horrible, Terrible, Awful And Bad

I did not know it was possible to feel such rage and hatred for an inanimate object, until I had this machine. I've had it for almost 4 years now and have had to get it repaired 6 times. Even the people who come out to fix it tell horror stories about it. They say the dryer's motor is no stronger than a hairdryer's and that Hotpoint does *not* make them. Another company pays to use the name.

At least the wash cycles are not too terrible.

We could live with a crummy dryer, if that was the only issue. But it's not. If it's not the dryer that's broken, there is something stuck in the machine that we can't get to(opening it up would be "dangerous and void the warranty), or the drum, or the electronics. It's built into the kitchen and has even damaged the cabinets and counters when a fan broke that made the machine jump around violently.

I think it is a waste of money, and the best purpose it would serve would be as an ugly planter. It is junk.
