My Hotpoint Is Very Well Used As I Have 3 Children

My Hotpoint is very well used as I have 3 children but I certainly wouldn't expect to be growing mould inside the drum and around the rubbers. The mould comes off and ends up on the clothes and makes the clothes smell.Tthe soap draw is covered in thick black mould despite my cleaning it in bleach every week. The 1600 spin is not good at all and I often have to put washes on an extra spin cycle. This machine is total rubbish - buy something else!

This Is The Second Time It Has Broken Down In The

This is the second time it has broken down in the space of 12 months. Each repair costing in the order of £150. We bought this based on our experience of Hotpoint machines in the past; however, this is not the Hotpoint we all knew and loved. These are rebranded Indesit models whose resemblance to old Hotpoint models is in name alone. Do not buy Hotpoint.

The Machine Is Great To Look At, But The Wash Is A

The machine is great to look at, but the wash is always dirty.

Switches off the electricity supply to the house within five minutes of starting (very annoying). Doesnt wash clothes properly. The clothes are not that dry considering the 1600 spin speed . Problems just started with the programs after one year. The machine is much louder now and will no doubt break the sound barrier one day. No point calling out for a serviceman, its easier and less expensive to buy a cheap and cheerful washer. Hotpoint...? Never again!

Similar Problems To Other Reviewers. Poor Wash, Ev

Similar problems to other reviewers. Poor wash, even on an "extra rinse, extra dirty" cycle. Many children's clothes need washing several times and "stain removers" don't dissolve. I've had to go back to pre-soaking clothes in buckets like granny did!. Just over 1 year old and LED started to flicker and has now died completely so you either have to guess the cycle or pay £140 to get it fixed. I wish I'd bought an old fashioned machine with a sensible amount of water and a dial. It can't be environmentally friendly if you have to wash things repeatedly.

Led Display Failed In Second Year Of Use. You Can

LED Display failed in second year of use. You can just about read it, with a torch. It flickers all the time it is on so that is annoying. Quoted a cost of £150 to repair, the replacement module is listed as over £80 - you have to buy the complete circuit board it seems! Apart from LED a good quiet machine

Save Your Money And Don't Spend It On The Hotpoint

Save your money and don't spend it on the Hotpoint WT960- Hotpoint quoted a high call out too. We bought a Hotpoint fridge on the same day - that's been a load of rubbish too.

Our Hotpoint Wt960 Is 3 Months Old And Needs A New

Our Hotpoint WT960 is 3 months old and needs a new drum bearing. Hotpoint cannot obtain bearing or a rear drum case (apparently its easier to replace the rear drum and bearing than risk damaging the original drum - makes sense I suppose). Hotpoint agreed fairly quickly (5 calls, 2 missed visits, 2 hours holding & 20 minuites talking etc.) to replace the machine with a wmd960. Seems almost identical so not sure why they even made the WMD model?

Would Not Recommend, I Would Not Even Touch Hotpoi

Would not recommend, I would not even touch Hotpoint items

ever again.

Mine broke just after 1 year, wasnt used that much, only 2 in the house.

To repair my machine I was quoted Hotpoint repair would cost about £100 and private repair costs £150. So have thrown this machine away and bought a new Hoover make.

Bought Hotpoint Wt960 In Oct 07 Because I Wanted A

Bought Hotpoint WT960 in Oct 07 because I wanted an environmentally friendly machine, and my last machine machine was from Hotpoint so I trusted them. However I always end up with detergent residue all over the clothes. Hotpoint/Indesit have been no help at all. Have had 2 engineers out who can find nothing wrong with the machine, but also say that I've done nothing wrong. I've followed all their instructions - have cleaned the machine, have changed temp, have added extra rinse, have reduced amount of detergent - all to no avail. But Hotpoint won't replace the machine because their engineers can't find anything wrong - although I question their expertise since I asked one engineer if he could plug a computer into the machine (like you do with cars) to see what's wrong with it, and he said that's not possible; but when the 2nd engineer came out, he amazingly plugged a computer into the machine! I have now contacted the retailer who are trying to sort it out for me, as I've now said that it's "not fit for purpose" - so fingers crossed.

As for the loud spin, mine hasn't been too bad, but is certainly not super silent. I would avoid this machine and Hotpoint/Indesit like the plague.
