Zanussi ZWD12270W

I bought this Zanussi in October 2010. Since then the engineer has been out twelve times and it has been in the workshop for ten days as well. The dryer has been mainly responsible for all these faults, "E20" message kept coming up which shut down the programme. This last time in the workshop it ran for two washes then it failed and that happened again and again. On one visit the engineer managed to disable the washer as well which had been working up till then! I have been without either a washer or dryer for two weeks and have to wash by hand. I wish I had never bought this machine and will definitely never buy another Zanussi washer again. I bought an extended warranty but that wasnt any help as the repairs by the engineers failed and failed again. There is nothing good to say about this machine, it has been more troublesome than other washer dryer I have ever owned.

Very good product. I've had it over 4 years and its used, on average, every day.

I've had no problems at all with its reliability. It's lasted longer than my previous Hotpoint Aquarius (3 years). I bought it online from John Lewis so had an extra year's warranty. I didn't need it though.

On the downside, the dryer takes ages, 30 minutes with a small load. I wouldn't recommend a washer/dryer but was limited with space. I'm going to get a separate dryer.

I use the 40 and 60 super quick settings. I don't understand the Eco settings. How can it be economical or ecological when it takes nearly 3 times longer?

Bought this model in Sept 2008. Sept 2009 it broke but Zanussi replaced it under warranty. Can't complain much about that other than it should not have broke down. Now the replacement is faulty and not working properly. So that is 2 failures in 3.5 years. Ithought Zanussi was meant to be a quality product. Stay away from them.

My Zanussi ZWD 12270W washes fine. But I'm not happy with the drier (much too slow), so I bought a separate drier AFTER buying this washer drier. The other drier is excellent! & I'll never buy a combined washer drier again.

I do 1-3 washes a day, 3-4 days per week, most weeks, mostly on synthetic or cotton 40' super quick washes with additional rinse, & also on delicates or handwash settings.

After 1 year, the door-plastic cracked near the handle fixings. Zanussi promptly changed the cracked cover under guarantee.

Recently it failed to work for hot washes (60' or 50'), but was fine for cooler washes (30' or 40'). I rarely use the drier, but used it a couple of times, approaching 2 years after purchase, After using the drier it wouldn't start for about 4-6 days both times (tried switching off & on at mains to reset, didn't help). Zanussi sent an engineer under the 2 year guarantee (just!), he found the heater's faulty on the drier & said they'll replace it under warranty.

Happy with service maintenance - luckily I phoned Zanussi 1 yr 364 days after purchase! If it had been 2 yrs after delivery (only 2 weeks later), I wouldn't have been happy.

The Zanussi ZWD12270W is a great machine but just broken down after 2.5 years of use averaging once a week and not cost effective to repair
