Bosch Classixx 1200

Great washing machine at a cheap price, had bushes on one occasion but other than that it never missed a beat.

Only had 20 years use out of it.

I bought my machine in 2010, and I cant find any fault with it, just finished a wash, so thought I should do a review, I would complain if there was something to complain about, so I feel obliged to do a review and praise it. Everything about this machine is good, as far as I am concerned. Hope it lasts for many more years, but if it broke down tomorrow I would go out and buy the same one.

I have no problems with the actual washing done by this machine. The clothing is always clean and well laundered. My main complaint is with the creased state of the wash on completion. No matter what spin I use or how little I put in the drum, even the slowest spin causes the clothing to come out very creased. I've never before had this problem with a washing machine and would have expected better from Bosch.

Bought from the coop, lasted just over 3 years and that was it! Expected better from a bosch, but it seems that they are now no different to any other machine. It had normal light usage, two to three times a week and never overloaded, but the drum bearings went. Unlike my old Zanussi, where the bearings could be replaced, with this bosch the bearings are sealed into the drum, so it is a VERY expensive drum replacement. Complained to the Bosch service centre, but got a 'that's life' response. They don't appear to understand the terms 'of merchandisable quality' or 'fit for purpose'. Should have taken it further, but can't be bothered with all of that hassle, so went out and bought another Zanussi.

I have had my machine for about 6-12 months and all of the fabrics I wash come out perfect.

Even woollen items are washed beautifully.

You must use decent washing powders and products.

And use the correct wash cycles for the fabrics washed.

I use the hottest longest cycle most of the time.

I have beautiful cloths and accessories.

No complaints from me, and no I haven't received money to say this.

I would be the first to complain, but I don't have to with this machine.

My main complaint about this washing machine is that it washes badly. It has damaged a lot of my clothes (has literally produced holes in them) and has given a bobbled and worn look to many softer items, even when washed on a delicates cycle. The filter is almost non-existent and very badly designed. When you open the filter to clean it there is nowhere for the water to drain into because the filter is too close to the ground level. My clothes do not come out of the machine looking clean, particularly white towels. I long for my previous machine, a Zanussi, which was world's apart in performance and design and worked beautifully for over 15 years.

The drum, motor etc. seem well engineered, but after about 2 years I have to really slam the door shut to make contact to start the washing cycle. Also the compartment for the softener does not empty, we live in a hard water area and cannot soften our wash. After contacting Bosch and being given dubious advice about doing 3 hot washes, adding Milton etc the problems remain. I got a call from Bosch customer services, other than an engineers visit for £80+ they were not interested in my complaint. I paid a premium to buy a Bosch. It's back to Hotpoint now, at least if it does not last long I will have paid less !!

faster than previous machines.

positioned in utility room so any noise we dont notice.

door sometimes doesnt close easily.

was very excited to get this home after wanting to change my washing machine for 5 years, didn't realise it was going to be the beginning of a series of nightmares. first wash, the noise the machine made was unbearable, i wouldn't say i live in a small house and i can clearly hear it from every single corner of my house the high pitch squeaking noise while spinning. ofcourse i understand they will make a noise when they spin dry, but this was just way too loud, and i was only using 800rpm out of the 1200rpm the machine was made for. had bosch technitian over twice and they simply said 'that's normal'. after two months of back and forth struggle with the company i returned it at last, and through the communication with the technitian he said all classixx model is rather loud. also had a problem where water were kept in the softener department after wash, the experience was horrible.

one good thing tho, the clothes were rather clean, better than top loader. but please reconsider if you are looking for something quiet.

The dispense draw in baddly designed,gets easily mould in very deep holes, also does not let ALL rinseaid trough . Boch tradename has been bought by Chinese, not a German make any more.

The screw lid to clean the outlet difficult to open and perished in few years.

Working OK after 4 - 5 years, pity that simple chinese design faults let it down.
