Hotpoint Ultima WT960

I've had this machine for about 6 years now. Had to get the engineer out in the first week as the delivery guy had been so rough, the surround of the display panel had been knocked out of place. It was supposed to be installed and the other one removed - as my last machine was a hot / cold wash and this one was a cold only, they neglected to cap the hot fill resulting in a flood of my kitchen and the downstairs neighbours. This was apparently my fault (being in complete ignorance of all things plumbing related)

Machine started off being quiet - much more so than my last one. Great! This didn't last. I can't imagine that standing next to an aircraft getting ready to take off would be any noisier than this machine on spin cycle. Shutting all the doors and windows in the house, you can still hear this thing sounding like a dude with a pneumatic drill on concrete flooring.

The smell is another minus - no amount of cleaning, airing or cursing keeps this thing mould and residue free. The door seal is black or orange coloured (depending on where you're looking) and the detergent drawer needs cleaning on a weekly basis, which wasn't uncommon with my old machine when powder used to get clogged up, but I now use liquid detergent. Inside the drawer is covered in black mold and you just can't get it off. I've been in there with brushes, bleach ....... I'm assuming it's because it's a cold fill as I never had this problem with hot and cold previously.

Hotpoint Ultima WT960 - you're an ultimate disappointment!

Whenever the clothiers go through a wash I would always wsh them again....there is scum on every wash, I've cleaned the drum several times and am getting fed up! My last hotpoint Aquarius had no such issues. Is it just mine or do others have the me problem, is there a way I can resolve it?

HAD THIS MACHINE FOR 5 YEARS AND FOR SEVERAL OF THEM IT HAS HAD BLACK MOULD & SCUM INSIDE THE DOOR RUBBER. THE FILLER DRAWER IS CONSTANLY BLACK WITH MOULD AND SCUM ALSO ESPECIALLY IN THE SOFTENER COMPARTMENT. I TRY AND CLEAN IT UP REGULAR BUT I CAN ONLY DO THE BITS I CAN GET TO - I DREAD TO THINK WHAT IT'S LIKE INSIDE !!! THE DISPLAY HAS NOW STARTED TO PLAY UP AND IT'S MAKING STRANGE NOISES TOO SO FINGERS CROSSED IT HASN'T GOT TOO MUCH MORE LIFE IN IT ???

I've had this machine for 3 years. I have 3 children so it does get hammered

however I don't feel that this is any excuse for the mould growing around the drum and seal and the scum on the inside of the drum that goes all over the clean clothes!!! The mould appeared after just a few months and is impossible to get rid of. Hotpoint and Indesit refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem but so many people complaining of the same things means that there must be.

I owned a Hotpoint 15 years ago which lasted for 1 year. I had it repaired at least 6 times in that year and I swore that I'd never buy Hotpoint again so it's my own fault. My new Zanussi will be with me tomorrow. It has cost more but you really do get what you pay for.

Have had this machine for at least 5 years. Constant problems with mould in the draw and on seal have to regularly bleach draw. Tried using different types of detergent powder/liquids, in the draw and in the drum. Run regular 90 degrees wash, but doesn't help. Have to use 'thin, runny' fabric conditioner as otherwise it doesn't clear from draw and clogs up. VERY noisy when spinning, have to shut the kitchen door as so loud. On and off leaking. RUBBISH. I keep waiting for it to break down completely to justify buying a new one!

i have had my machine for nearly two years, and i see more of the engineer than i do of my husband, it leaked for six months, i have had at least three new mother boards, the draw builds up mildew and the smell if i dont run a boil wash evry month is awful. I have become a dab hand at hand washing and with a husband and three kids thats not fun. Waiting for teh engineer yet again to replace yet another mother board. the only things i do like are the wash size and the child lock. I have had hotpoint before the last one lasted 8 years this one wont make may at this rate.

Same as many people, keep getting mildew buildup despite regular cleaning and bleaching, have not had bearing problems yet but sure it will come. No filter is not a good idea and will not buy hotpoint again - dissapointed!

Very unreliable washing machine, broke down three times in the first year. The whole machine was then replaced and now the second machine has failed after 18 months an electrical fault...would not recommend.

My previous Hotpoint lasted 12 years with out problem,now I don't think they are made to last.

I great machine use it every day almost and put in it large washes. You can easily fit a summer weight feather quilt. Like the easy to use buttons and silent wash mode ok when it spins it makes more noise but still bye far the best machine I have used. There is no filter to empty and regular cleaning cycles because if low washing temp a must. Would def recommend.

I concurr with 95% of the above comments, have been meaning to change the bearings for a while now, but the machine is in constant use.

Even concord didn't make that much noise.
