Very Quiet 3 Yrs Old No Problems Yet
40 cotton quick wash takes 55 mins and clothes come out clean.

Don't Buy This Washing Machine! Mine Went Wrong Sh
Don't buy this washing machine! Mine went wrong shortly after the 3 year warranty was over. I didn't think that I needed an extended warranty as there is only one adult and one 6 year old in my household so mine hasn't exactly been overused. The computer seems to have gone so that the machine mostly forgets to spin and rinse, this happens 9 times out of 10, I then have to put it on again on the 30 minute wash cycle which also occasionally forgets to rinse and spin ( 4 times out of 10) All in all avoid this like the plague.
Totally agree. Ours packed up at 3 years, 3 months - 3 months after warranty expired. Never particularly happy with it (previous Bosch washed much better)but not at all happy with this machine's reliability and durability.

Compared This With Other Machines Also Made By Ele
Compared this with other machines also made by Electrolux (AEG & Zanussi) and preferred the style of this JLWM1407. Also, John Lewis will delivery to remote Scotland (worthy of consideration as local shops quoted between £60 and £80 'to get it home').Does what one wants from a washing machine whilst being acceptably quiet (very quiet during washing part of cycle and spin not too loud compared to many machines), taking a reasonable load, and having very clear functions for the operating controls. Comes with a three-year guarantee and seems quite well made. Like many newer machines, has a good-sized loading porthole that is disabled-friendly.
Q&A
Does anybody find the spin cycle hesitant to get going after emptying the rinsing water, sometimes 10 to 15 minutes? I am told this is not a problem by John Lewis engineer.
