We had our bathroom fitted by Carringtons exactly 4 years ago costing over £6k. Now 4 years later the cabinet has electrical fault, the shower hose holder is broken, shower basket broken, toilet seat and shower frames are rusting and the toilet roll holder is not been fit into the wall properly. We asked Carringtons to send someone out to take a look and were told they are too busy and unable to help.

When we decided to have a new kitchen fitted we looked at several kitchen companies but found that many of them tried to sell us what they wanted but not necessarily what we wanted.

We were also slightly concerned about some of the horror stories we read online for many of the companies but decided that a few negative reviewers very often have a hidden agenda, (disgruntled ex-employees; business competitors; etc.) Obviously, if there were many negative reviews we steered completely clear of those companies.

We had a definite idea of what our kitchen should include and, probably, more importantly, what should not be included. In our case, we wanted absolutely no wall cupboards at all. We saw the kitchen designer, who we found to be very pleasant and extremely professional. We showed him a rough plan of what we wanted and made an appointment for him to measure the kitchen to see if our plans were achievable and would be functional and aesthetically pleasing.

His visit was very helpful and demonstrated to us that, what we thought we needed in the kitchen, although achievable, would make it look too crowded and less functional than we wanted, definitely no up-selling on his part. His suggestions, were, however, extremely useful and, at times, almost inspired.

Later, we were excited to see the computer drawings which he showed us and which we could also see in different colours, finishes, etc. He also made other suggestions to slightly tweak the design and was able to show us the effect this would have on the finished kitchen, all of which we found to be extremely valid suggestions which enhanced the design.

We had building work to do before the kitchen was fitted and were unable to give an exact start date for the kitchen to be fitted but the lady from the office contacted us regularly to see where we were up to without pressurising us. When the building work was eventually finished, she arranged for the kitchen to be delivered and for the fitter to start almost immediately. As the kitchen is quite large, we were told it would take 3 days to fit.

We have been delighted with the helpful professionalism we received from everyone at Carringtons from the designer, the lady from the office (we couldn't have hoped to deal with anyone more pleasant than she was) the surveyor, the fitter (who did a wonderful job, worked non-stop throughout the 3 days and whose attention to detail was meticulous), and the delivery men who were very careful and considerate. We would not hesitate to recommend Carringtons to anybody in the future and we cannot praise them too highly. Many thanks to everyone concerned.

A company who bullies people into having kitchens , with false promises , false made up offers , rip off prices !! poor product you are better asking a joiner to purchase from a "shed" company - nothing is ,Bepoke ! , horrible salesman at Wilmslow - a very little snobby chap - but an out and out bully.

Truly thinks he can treat people like rubbish , works on comissions only so very hard sell.

shame really , the showroom looks good, don't be fooled !! a bit rough for Wilmslow.

Please do not deal with these people for your own peace of mind. And never pay up front. We were well and truly ripped off. We made a very big mistake dealing with Carringtons and trusting them.

Please checkout the other reviews on similar websites before you make your mind up. We have endured months of living with the mess caused by the shoddy work done by their fitter, even their surveyor agreed is was very bad. Dealing with them is a joke and its taking a long time to put right; and at the time of writing this, they still have not returned the money (we paid upfront) they owe us for work we have had to get done ourselves.

Worst company we have ever dealt with. Lack of communication was unbearable. Most units had to be moved or replaced once installed as in wrong place, damaged, even upside down.

Fitter only worked approx four hours a day, when he was bothered to turn up - which was less than 50% of the time, whilst we waited around or left the house unlocked.

Office staff at Carringtons did not know if fitter had arrived and, if he did not, had no idea of his whereabouts.

When we finally got hold of the kitchen designer and asked why he had not answered any of our emails, telephone calls or texts, he told us he was keeping his head down as he knew we were having problems.

After several emails listing outstanding issues we were told that they we're having meetings to discuss and rectify, we were then advised that no one at head office knew anything about our issues.

After several months with an unfinished kitchen we gave up and paid someone else to finish the job.

Turned an expected few weeks upheaval into several nightmare months, we wish we had never given our hard earned money to Carringtons.

This company is appalling I would recommend it to no one. It is expensive with poor quality product terrible service rude fitters and rude staff who never call back and hang up on you. Part of the work has been deemed unsafe gas not blocked off and illegal vent into roof space.Avoid this company at all costs.

We have never come across such a badly run and unscrupulous company before, so perhaps we were a little green.

They are very quick to take your money then do nothing they promised to do.

We booked to have a kitchen fitted by them, paid the deposit then waited and waited for a date. Finally after being messed around a great deal a very tatty delivery van appeared with a small amount of the kitchen we were expecting. There were no doors or work tops but in spite of this I got a call from a person at Carringtons demanding a payment, I told her that the kitchen we ordered had no where near been delivered and she told me that she'd told the driver not to open the van doors unless she had been paid!

This was only the first of many occasions that we had to suffer her revolting and unprofessional tongue.

We paid up for fear of having no kitchen and then waited for the doors and work surfaces to appear, this didn't happen until weeks later during which time Carringtons had already taken a significant amount of money from us. Finally the day came for the delivery of the doors etc and once again there were problems. Over half the doors had been damaged so only a few were delivered.

The work surface had been selected from two different batches so didn't match each other but once again she was on the phone demanding payment.

We said we were not prepared to pay until all the expected doors and units were here and once again we were threatened with the driver leaving without unloading our stock.

We came to an arrangement with her that we would pay some and the rest would be paid when we had received all of our kitchen and were happy with our kitchen.

We have since found out that she has in fact accessed my bank account and taken the remaining monies without my knowledge or permission!!

My bank is in the process of dealing with this and will be in touch with Carrington's merchant to let them know how the company does business.

The kitchen is still not finished and we still don't have all the doors or fittings we ordered.

As you can see this is not a reputable company and should be avoided at ALL costs.
