Worst Convincing Service

Worst convincing service, 5 most snd still nowhere.

Not responding to emails or letters...

Contacted my bank to report them and hoping one day banks will cancel all contracts with those company and people will be free from this dreadful experience.

We have made an official complaint to our lender and in next 24 hours received call from optima legal team with completion date same week.

Absolute Nightmare For Remortgage

My remortgage is straightforward and should have been completed today, but not the case unfortunately, thanks to Optima.

All required documents have been submitted more than a month ago.

Completion is not done, and there is no update to tell me "why".

No answers to phone call

No reply for emails from portal

There is no other way to communicate.

Such businesses don't have right to operate and should be closed by regulators.

My current mortgage term has ended, means it has now reverted to higher variable rate, which should not have happened at all should the completion was done in time by Optima.

DON'T use them, I would rather pay some other solicitors, but I didn't have that choice since they have been appointed by the lender.

We were forced to use Optima Legal for a YBS Remortgage - 4 months later only showing 50% progress on the Optima Dashboard.

Nurmerous email messages sent via the Comms Centre.

35 minute wait on the phone to talk to Customer Services to be advised "in review".

Terrible company.

100% agree..your review could have been written by me!. I contacted the lender yesterday for the second time. First time they extended my offer by a month to end Dec 22 as OL were behind on the process, and now thought best to let them know all issues lie with OL as we should have at least set a completion date last week. HOPELESS communication...certainly cannot get through to them on the phone and they don't respond to email on their terrible portal. Their management need to look at themselves and the lenders need to find new conveyancers!

Omg, I'm reading this and experiencing the worse anxiety of my life. I have been battling with them for 4 months. I am also going through a very straightforward remortgage. Unfortunately, it's been on hold for no obvious reasons. Equally, no one is giving an explanation to why the process has just frozen. My offer is expiring on 22 December. I'm just dreading that I will end up loosing the agreed rate!!!

Remortgage Nightmare

So 4 months waiting, no portal updates and only system generated responses.

Submitted several emails for a simple redemption statement update.

No approach made to current mortgage provider and waiting 1.5 hrs for someone to answer on several occasions...NO ANSWER...

No one managing cases and portal states figure requested but untrue to my agent.

No customer service whatsoever.

Even complaints not handled.

This company are letting their associated banks down.

People are remortgaging because they are struggling and absolutely no care or consideration for how this negatively impacts on members of the publish.

The Worst Remortgagng Experience

Optima is "facing unprecedented demand" which means that they do not do anything on your case for weeks. We have been taken hostage as Optima was our lender's solicitor so we haven't had a choice. Their system does not work, the communication is very difficult and nothing progresses.

Thanks to them we are loosing thousand of pounds each month as we have gone to SVR on our mortgage. Worst, our deal is about to expire so we now have to start the remortgage process again from scratch - losing thousands of pounds more as the new rate will be much higher (the market has gone up in the 6 months it took Optima to NOT do their work). It goes without saying that we will make sure our new potential lender does not work with Optima.

Stay Away!!!

Reaching the end of our 6 months (and patience!!!) for remortgage offer to secure our rate and Optima dragging their heels!?! Keep sending same automated message that they need a document when we've already had a response in portal they have received it. Endless calls with either useless people at the other end STILL working from home ...but that's if you can get through. Waiting time to get through to speak to someone is always over an hour at any time of day, unless they just cut you off that is. This could literally ruin our lives as the rates are going up and up, and we always have builders banging on the door needing payment. Been months and no response on portal for help in understanding why they arent processing it or contacting us, even though we have written that we want to make a formal complaint. PLEASE stay away!!!!!!!

Terrible Service

Avoid if you get offered these in the remortgage & pay for a good service.

I have found the service to be slow,taking weeks & weeks to respond to paperwork or tasks. You don't get to speak to a human via the portal & if you call you never get through. This company has caused unnecessary stress to what should be a simple remortgage. I have asked (via the portal) for some human contact update but this has been ignored. All I can say is avoid.

I feel sorry for the staff who answer the phones, who apparently have no authority to do anything at all, other than say sorry.

Having visited the site I can see they are part of Capita group, need we say more.

They have delayed and delayed and delayed, blaming case loads and staffing as the problem. If you are unable to do job properly and do not have the infrastructure as an organisation you should stop! Give it to someone who can do the job and do it well.

Please Avoid On Any Cost

One of the worst experience of my life. Optima legal was recommended by the lender. It was nightmare for me to get any information from them. Every time i have to nudge them to move the case. Due to their incompetency they couldn't able to complete the remortgage on time. Staff is very un-experienced and and don't bother to read the notes

I was instructed to use Optima Legal for my remortgage. I cant believe this company functions the way they do and gets away with it.

There is zero service, you cannot speak to anyone, they ignore messages on their

system ... all in in, it has made one of the most stressful situations in my life ten times harder.

Avoid this company at all costs if you value your mental health.

How long (roughly) will it take for a remortgage and transfer of equity? We have both signed the TR1 and a new mortgage offer has been put in place but no completion date has been set. This is stressing me out as I need to move forward. If anyone has any idea of the time scale as we opened this case in the new year, that would be helpful.

I am sorry to have to say that I have been involved with Optima Legal at least twice when re mortaging Buy to let properties and they are painfully slow. Unfortunately Optima Legal were the designated solicitors put in place by the mortgage lenders on both occasions but I would not have chosen them if I was my personal choice.

I believe both remortgages took in excess of 2 months (one even longer as my wife was added to the TR1 thus incurring an additional charge from Optima, more documents to sign and a Stamp Duty charge of several thousands!)

I found it frustrating trying to chase them through their online secure messaging system and eventually tracked down a phone number to ring them on but even that didn't really speed things along. I think they have to deal with so many clients sent to them by the mortgage companies that they go at a slow pace.

I wish you the best of luck with your remortgage and transfer but I wouldn't expect a stress free transaction if Optima are involved. Good luck!
