Botanics Dark Red

I dyed my hair from blonde to this dark red so was very nervous about the outcome, but was pleasantly suprised. The colour is amazing and the same as on the box, i left in for 25 minutes before I washed, the colour is very even and shiny, the only thing that could be improved is that I have long hair and had to use 3 boxes to get full coverage, but overall I am very please with the result:)

Fab Product.recommend

Used the new formulation for Boots Organics Hair Dye in Light Ash Blonde.

Lovely champagne blonde colour with good coverage for my whitish hair and good shine and sparkle.I was nervous when I heard the product had changed but I am delighted.

Beautiful Dark Red Colour & Amazing Condition

After a long search for another Semi P. after 'Harmony' stopped selling 'Ruby'; I am so happy to have found 'Botanics' in this rich beautiful red colour which I love. My previously dull and dryish hair is now in amazing condition and is so shiny.

Next time I'd use 2 boxes as my hair is long. I left it on for 35 minutes and shook the bottle well to ensure a good colour blend. I also used it on hair with no trace of conditioner. The conditioner in the package is amazing and I wish Boots would sell it separately.

Can't recommend this highly enough and hoping that it won't disappear from the shelves as so many red semi permanents seem to have done lately.

Unfortuntely the colour chart on this product's box is misleading as there's no way on earth a semi permanent colour can ever lighten hair-it has no peroxide in which would be necessary to lighten hair. A semi permanent can only ever add shine/alter the tone or darken the hair but never remover pigment (ie lighten hair). Sorry for your disappointment.

I Bought What I Thought Was A Nice Brown Colour, B

I bought what I thought was a nice brown colour, but instead it turned my hair purple. Which is against my schools dress code rules :(. I only bought this make because I had used it once before. However on a positive note it did not sting or smell.

Totally Non Effective As A Hair Dye

Used "Palest Oatmeal Light Blonde". Ought to have chosen a known Brand. I've used many different brands and been satisfied that they did lighten my roots. Absolutely no difference to them using this produce. Utterly, inedequate and absolutely hopeless. I followed the instruction to the letter. I will be returning to Boots to discuss the matter. A complete and utter waste of time. I am now worried I won't be able to use another hair colourant for another month! You could say, I am annoyed.

Should Be Banned!

I used the warm maple and it has turn my hair orange! And I really do mean orange! Ive tried a colour stripper and it make it worse and even brighter! I have used bleach and then baking soda and neither had any effect!

I tried dying it brown and it only worked on the ends! Ive devestated! If any one got any ideas on how I can correct it PLEASE let me know!!!

I have marked 1 only as I didnt have an option not to!

Seriously stay clear of warm maple! The pictures on the box are completly missleadin!!!

Spiced Conker Semi Permanent Is Amazing

I have been colouring my hair for 20 years and this is the happiest I have been as a brunette. For less than a fiver and in 20 minutes, my hair is shiny and soft and a beautiful shade of warm brown. It cost me £80+ and took much longer to get a less desirable result at a salon. Won't be buying anything else now.

Is your hair lightish brown now or quite dark?

Used This Product For About Five Years Now

I love this product..... no nasty smell or stinging which I experienced with other hair dyes. I use bitter chocolate on my dark greying hair, and it covers well.

A tip is to use it on hair that has only been washed and dried minus conditioner, as conditioner can affect the dye take-up on grey.

My daughter tried it also, but can't find a suitable shade for her brunette hair which doesn't contain red.

Overall maybe more colours would make it a better product for some.

Q&A

Marypastell

Can I mix a small amount of boots perfect colour (5.6 deep red brown) with full amount of Botanics (5.46 light brown), both semi perms to give a richer colour?

Pennypixie

I used buy the botanical non permanent colour in bitter chocolate or deepest mulberry. Is the new semi permanent range made with the same or similar formula?

quackieandpriscilla

After using Boots Botanics semi permanent bitter chocolate for a couple of years have been getting an itchy scalp after use. Any idea how much PPB it contains?

Thanks
