This Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal System Work
This intense pulsed light hair removal system works wonders for hair removal. The outocme is completely dependant on the individual's circumstances, however the system definitely reduces hair growth in any area of the body. Although it is not advised that the system be used on the facial area, I find that it is suitable, even though i have fair skin. (the fair skin setting has the highest strength). I used to have IPL treatments at a clinic which would cost me around £600 for just 6 to 8 treatments. This machine priced between £250 and £325 is extreme value for money, given the luxuries it provides and the results.
As i say the results depend completely on the user. If you have hormonal issues such as PCOS, it is unlikely that you will experience complete hair removal without regrowth after the recommended 6 to 12 weeks. But you will lose the need to use other costly methods of hair removal and you will be able to keep the regrowth at bay with this machine. I have PCOS and I have had this machine for around a year now. I used it more frequently towards the beginning of my purchase but now I only have to use it once every 4 to 6 weeks.
The machine is not too big and comes with a base unit which has a cord attached to the handheld system itself. The settings are very simple and easy to get used to. Sometimes it seems there is a bit too much wiring with the device as the base unit attaches on to the adaptor which is somewhat large and similar to a laptop adaptor. However, this does allow for more manouverability which I find helpful.
When I bought the system the above is all that came with it, but recently the package now includes a smart white case which looks nice and stores the system away neatly.
With this form of hair removal it is important and helpful to use the activator gel which boots sell alongside the machine for aroun £2.95 a bottle. This helps cool the area being treated and prevents pain and burning as the device can get quite hot.
The treatment is not painful and can be described as a small prickly feeling. This does not last long. Little redness can be noticed at times depending on the sensitivity of the skin. But as long as you use the activator cooling gel you should be able to refrain from damaging the skin.
I would advise potential buyers to have a skin test done by a dermatologist before using the system because it is a big purchase and it is important to know whether your skin will or will not react negatively to the treatments.
Overall I am very happy with my machine. They have 10,000 shots in them, but the life of the device differs depending on the area being treated.
Even when mine runs out, I am most likely to purchase the same one again as it is great value for money, covers areas in an appropriate amount of time and gives results just like those received from clinic treatments. Plus you are not paying for a brand name i.e. Philips or Rio, but you still get a brilliant service from Boots and a useful guarantee, as well as the advantage points!
