Poor Customer Service

You will be treated by the owner like a 2nd class citizen. I am deployed and ordered a pair of shoes, which i am still waiting to receive 4 months later. I was told it was my fault because i provided an APO address and he has issues shipping to military bases but my funds were taken completely and never refunded. Further he sent me receipt attempting to confirm that he actually shipped the shoes, however, the receipt was in a language i could not read and no tracking number to confirm status. Again i was told it was my responsibility to check with the military post office, even though did not have a tracking number or anything. This guy is extremely disrespectful, if anything goes wrong with your order good luck getting any help from him. I wish i had more places i could spread this review of just how bad this experience was, please avoid!

Immature And Disorganized Owner

This is a review for Don's Footwear and Elevator Shoes. He made 2 pairs of custom shoes for me. It would have been a whole collection had he not gone off the deep end in an emotionally immature and volatile way. I had my eyes on a next pair but he is impossible to work with and so disorganized that he doesn't even know when he's getting paid or not. It's not worth ordering here, you might get into a fight for reasons you don't understand.

The first was pair great, he listened and did what I asked according to my measurements and small requests. As soon as the requests got slightly more complicated, things went wrong. Second pair was awful, completely wrong design, wrong size and everything.

He sent me a new pair without asking for money, I assumed he was giving them to me free for all the trouble. He never sent an invoice or asked for the previous pair back. In fact, he had not been responding to emails for about a month and I had to file a charge back so we had gone through a lot of stuff by that point and I thought he was trying to make things right. 5 months later I get an email accusing me of taking from him and he asks for money for the boots. This was alarming and confusing but of course I paid him and sent back the original pair of boots which he never told me where to send to, I had to ask several times for an address to send to. I sent them back to him and they arrived at his front desk according to the tracking info. This was 2 weeks ago.

Today, I wake up to email, 6 months after my last purchase, where he accuses me of taking the boots he made that were completely the wrong size. Why would I take boots I can't even wear? The tracking number says it arrived at his shop 2 weeks ago. I didn't do anything wrong. I waited months for the right boots, I paid him everything I owed him, I sent the wrong boots back, I still have the pair of boots he sent the second time which are poor quality but I accepted them given all the trouble. Now the guy is accusing me for literally no reason. Guess the guy likes the poison his customer base for fun. And I was a loyal customer who went out of his way to keep the relationship with him going after he screwed up so spectacularly with the last pair of boots. I really wanted to be his customer because his product is unique but I've found that unfortunately the boots were not well made.

Anyway, I can prove all this is true with the tracking info and email correspondences. If this disappears it's because he wanted this review gone.

I concur, the vendor is mentally unstable. Steer clear.

1 Good Order, 1 Bad Order, No Ordering Again

I bought one pair of shoes and they were good, as ordered. Bought a second pair and they were bad. For the second pair, I ordered real leather and I think I got fake leather. I ordered a 2 inch increase and got a 1.5 inch increase instead. The second pair was also probably the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Will not be ordering a third pair. Will look for elevator shoes elsewhere. I think he outsources his shoes to be made somewhere cheaply either out of greed or some other reason. And I was planning on ordering more.

The Shoes I Ordered From Don's Shoes Were Not The

The shoes I ordered from Don's Shoes were not the shoes that were delivered to me. While I'm not going to express an opinion one way or another, for fear this idiot might try to sue me, every one of the people that saw the shoes that were delivered to me said they had definitely NOT been hand-made. Including an American Express agent! Moreover, when I tried them on, they were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. Thank God I charged the shoes with my American Express card, and I was able to dispute the charge. When American Express reached out to Don for documentation regarding my purchase, he provided some, but did so in a ridiculously unprofessional fashion. He called me a "small man" and stated I was trying to steal the shoes. He stated "my fingers bloody" from working so hard on my shoes. Please. In subsequent e-mail exchanges with Don, he refused to answer my questions and wrote back in a mean and derogatory manner. Here's a quote from his most recent e-mail to me: "you ofended because your not tall as the bird you dating". Really? Truly? Finally, if Don is from Scotland, like his web site says, he never made it through elementary school. His spelling and grammar are a joke. Isn't it telling that Don makes fun of, and is mean to the people that make up his primary clientele? Doesn't he deserve to be run out of town on a rail and lose his business? American Express will refund my money to me and force Don (or Allen or whatever name he's using this week) to pay them back. I will also not be returning Don's awful, crappy, garbage shoes unless he sends the money to me for shipping them to him in advance. Again, the worst mistake of your life will be to buy anything from this liar.

Excellent Quality/service

I just took delivery of my first order from Don's. The communication from when the order was placed was more than I would have expected. For hand made shoes if this quality (which is exceptional) the time from order placed until arrival at my front door was less than 3 weeks. These shoes are very well made and the midsole technology seamlessly adds 2 1/2 inches of lift. I'm glad I ordered 2 pairs! Thank you!!! I would recommend these shoes to anyone even if they were not seeking a hidden lift.

Wrong Size, No Return, Non-responsive

I ordered shoes from here for my wedding and gave size and explicit measurements. The shoes came in and were nearly three sizes too big - and it was too close to the wedding date to replace them in time. Still, I wanted my money back, so I emailed about a return. I NEVER got a response, even after emailing several times from different accounts. I have to assume he is simply ignoring me. Now I am stuck with a pair of $300 shoes that don't fit. Total waste, very unprofessional.
