Arrangements Made Easy

Several months ago my wife and i decided to travel to a spanish-speaking country in latin america to learn spanish and to experience life in the country we decided on. Using friends and the internet we selected costa rica, but were undecided where to go and completely at sea selecting a spanish language school. By a stroke of luck we found a lady at language course net. She was an immenset help in suggesting location options in costa rica based on our requirements and, most importantly, an appropriate school and accompanying lodging. Once we had made our selections, veronica dealt with the school on our behalf. What seemed like an impossible task at the beginning, was made easy. The eight-hour time difference between our location and language course net was never a problem, as she always replied to us the same day.

Utile, Ma Non Indispensabile

I Highly Recommend Going Through This Website To B

I highly recommend going through this website to book your language course with Accord ecole de langues (the school I joined) as it is cheaper than booking with the institute directly. They gave me a 5% discount so were cheaper than all the other websites out there.

I had no problems at all.

An Effective Way To Book A Foreign Language Course!

Hi!

When I decided to go abroad to get an international living experience, I was a bit confused about a vast offer of diferent courses you can find in internet and may be by coicidence or good advertisement, choose to try the Language Course Net. And I have never regretted. That was I guess the third time I booked a course with them and was pretty happy with the assistance at the time of booking and the quality service at schools. Both teams (spanish and english) that I treated were kind and effective, they can even advise you on things about the country or recommend a school! And you are sure to get the best rates at a minimum of waiting time. Of course, sometimes you have to book in advance to get availability. I would recommend their web to everybody. The only, may be, thing that can still be improved is to add more schools and accommodation options, hope they´ll consider it. In general, a good investment and quality!

Very Good Service

I booked the course with Language Course. I wrote the assistant at least 5 times and he answered me in a really low time. I´m very glad of having choose this company. The assistant really wanted to pleased me. Even more than school. I really will choose this agency again for future courses.

Price Guarantee Not True

After booking a Spanish course through languagecourse.net i found out that the school had a special discount on the course and that I could have saved 20% if I had booked directly through the school. When I mentioned this to languagecourse.net thay just told me that their "Price Guarantee" does not count when the school offers a special discount so I don't understand why they offer a gurantee that is not true.

Dear Student

The price guarantee applies to both discounts from the school as well as from any other agency. Therefore, if it you booked the same course that had an offer, this should have been applied.

I really want to look into this matter so please contact the consultant who dealt with your booking and ask them to pass on the issue to Natalia.

How To Make The Most Of Your Time

I spent two weeks in Istanbul in early October - a good time of year, not too hot (and avoiding the Bayram holidays) with a "Live and learn in your teacher's home", with 25h/week of formal study.

The finding of my teacher took a lot of patience from both organiser and me, but it was well worth the effort and the wait. The teacher (Özlem Kökten) was personable, very likeable and with near-native English, extremely competent, lots of experience of teaching English people Turkish. It was a challenge for her to find out what I already knew - or didn't know, or had forgotten - and patch up my knowledge whilst still making progress. Knowledge of English grammar (or any other language) is important but not essential. But anyway, we did it, and we made sure, between us, that I had my 25 hours a week ... AND I had homework for the next day!

If I have any advice for someone considering 2 weeks of in-home study, to make best progress, try reading through some relevant 'teach yourself' book to be aware of concepts, try to learn at least some basics, that gets you off to a rolling start, don't be a complete beginner.

For a homestay, it is critical that the student and teacher can work together and get on well as people as well. 50 hours of desk work is hard going, there's then all the other times between getting up and going to bed, plus weekends, which can add another couple of hundred hours together ... or apart, if you don't hit it off.

I was lucky, it was obvious from the pre-stay contact that we were 'compatible' and I really enjoyed my time in Istanbul. We worked hard, we also enjoyed lots of social time together, at home and around Istanbul. I shudder to think what it might have been like if we had not been able to establish such a good rapport.

Conclusion: the concept is great - you also don't waste time in travelling - but it is essential to have contact between teacher and student, even an exchange of emails to see how each other ticks is better than nothing, so that it is not a complete 'blind date', because it's not easy to change once you are there.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the tap water was not drinkable, not even by the locals - that means bottled water, even for doing teeth (or risk the inevitable).

Would I do it again? Taking my own advice, yes, I would. And I would recommend my teacher to anyone.

Good Language Course And Great Vacation!

Everything was just fantastic!

Host family was nice and welcoming, we spent a lot of time in pleasant conversation, so I practiced my french. Apartment was beyond expectations, a minute to the cathedral and biggest town square.

Lyon is beautiful city, I enjoyed very much my free time after classes and we had some interesting activities like guided visits and atelier cuisine at professor's home. City is great for bicycle riding.

School is near city center. Groups are relatively small, professors are competent, supporting and atmosphere was really stimulative. There were student from all over the world, but we spoke only french in the school. I think their learning method is very good and I made significant progress. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer.

I wish I could go again to Lyon Bleu International!
