Absolutely Appalling

The heat- my God, the heat is horrendous. Waking up in sweats every morning is awful. I asked someone on the front desk if there was anything I could do about the heat. His reply was pitiful- 'It's great in the winter'. Well thanks for that mate! It's not winter. I'm here for the Summer and you give me a completely irrelevant answer.

Don't come within a mile of this hell hole. It's too hot, the fan they provide is like someone blowing on you as sleep, and the place is like a prison with zero character. I spend as little time as I can away from the place. I'm staying at the office simply so I don't have to come back here.

This time next month I'll be gone, and I can't wait.

Avoid like the plague.

Tragic Attempt At 'luxury Student Accommodation'

Staying the summer in Bloomsbury Unite accommodation. The location is great but the rooms are rubbish. There is no escape from the intense heat, there is only one window that opens about 10cm wide covered by another window. This consequently leads to the bedrooms and hallway to turn into a sauna. The small bathroom is another level, as soon as I step out of the shower I begin to sweat and feel like I need another shower. I hate spending time in my room. Unite provide you with the most pathetic fan known to man, which makes very little, if any difference to the temperature of the room. The TV vary rarely works, I couldn't even watch the semi final of the world cup on BBC 1...

It costs around £4-5 to wash your clothes and dry them... total rip off.

I stayed in Uni accommodation at another university and in comparison this is just a feeble attempt at providing 'luxury student accommodation'.

Finally.. the layout of the rooms make this accommodation a very unsociable place to live. The heat would make any pre drinks unbearable anyway so maybe it's for the best.

Same here. Horrendous. Sleep is impossible and I find myself heading home (only 70 miles away) at the first opportunity I get. The rooms are like sitting in a furnace and the fan is just taking the micky. Like someone blowing on you.

Great Location! Horrible Building!

The location in central london is great and thats about it.

I lived in Woburn Place for 1 year and this is my experience...

The rooms are small and stinky for the extreme high rents that you pay. There are rats that run inside the walls and around the building. The place is dirty and uncomfortable. On one occassion we had no warm water for over 1 week and for two days I couldnt even flush my toilet?! I was offered no compensation for having to shower in a hotel because seemingly I paid a weeks rent for a studio without any warm water. The washing maschines kept on being broken throughout the year.. It was just horrible having paid more than 16000 pounds!! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

UNITE is horrible for the price you pay. The rooms aren't clean, the beds are cheap and uncomfortable, my heater barely works, and the plumbing system seems to be ancient from the amount of noise it makes. Outside of your room, you have staff that don't care about their job, and don't take you seriously. A security guard who always "mysteriously" disappears, an extremely dirty common room, and vending machines that don't work. There's 1-2 washing machines and dryers on every other floor, which are far too few for the 30-40 people staying on each floor, and they charge you to use them, even though you're paying £200-500 a week. There is a fire drill every Wednesday, even though they claim to only have two a year. UNITE also tries to find any reason to fine their customers or take them to court. Anything they deem a "fire hazard" can get you fined or taken to court. They do not have trash chutes, so you have to go down to the ground floor, leave the building, in whatever weather it is outside, and take it out yourself. It is literally cheaper to stay at a 4 star hotel near the area, where all the services are taken care of for you and you have polite staff, than stay at UNITE.

Cleaners Do Not Clean Properly

I stayed in room 22 on the ground floor and feel I must review the poor standard of cleanliness, lack of customer respect, and I could not communicate with the cleaners as they all seemed to be speaking spanish. They were in my room for five minutes and I am very sure that my sheets were not changed. Hairs left in the shower tray, smears on the mirror, dust on the shelves etc... food stains on the floor next to the cooker. Poor value for money. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Do not stay here the rooms are dirty and the staff do not understand English. They talk to each other in spanish why you are in the room. sheets are not changed. I watch them go in and out the rooms so fast they couldnt have cleaned them like they should. Do not pay money for rubbish and this is

No Woburn Place

Right now i am living at woburn place and the staff is really friendly. CONS: there is a rat living in the lounge and they don't seem to care about it. My toilet stinks every morning and night, and again they just can't fix this issue. They set me with a sex addict flatmate and if I want to change my room i have to pay. Expensive

Not ever again. I am disappointed.

Extreme Nightmare!!

Pros: nice surrounding, near Brunswick centre, near Russell Square tube.

Cons: the whole UNITE building is nightmare! Really dirty carpet!! Annoying fire alarm on every Wednesday, terribly rude staff!!! Saw them facebooking all the time!! They don't take any request from students seriously. The auto light turned on in the bedroom during an outage at night!!! Just could not get myself to sleep properly!! Breathless in summer because there is no ventilation. The price is ridiculously expensive. Paying 10 getting 1 back! UNITE will charge you when ever they have a chance. Basically, a Money Sucker! The worst thing is one of the male staff just barged into my bedroom without knocking just to tell me to pay the rent. I mean, can't you knock??. How could you just barge into a girl's room without knocking?!?! He was hideously rude!! You can't expect privacy here.

Never Again

pros: new building, nicely furnished, good location

cons: ridiculously expensive (you pay 1000 times more of what you get), rooms facing Woburn Place street are boiling hot in summer, corridors and common areas are not as clean as you would expect, staff are totally incompetent either because they do not know what they are doing or simply because they cannot be bothered
