Great Location - Nothing More
The amount you pay for this place is really because of the location. Situated opposite the train station, a 10 minute walk into town and a walking distance to most universities is really handy but thats about it.
Due to my course starting a lot earlier than other people I moved in five days before anybody else in my flat did. Luckily two girls in the flat opposite me where studying the same course as me so that was handy. When I arrived I asked about car parking spaces as I own my own car and needed to get a job as my student loan barely covered anything! I was told by one member of staff that it would be £17.50 per week if you paid for the whole year or £26 per week if you just paid weekly. I decided against bringing me car although I had paid for insurance and so forth as it would cost me more money than I had. Imagine my anger when two people moving into my flat and two people in the flat opposite me five days after I'd moved in got offered free parking on the day of their arrival! After complaining numerous times for 8 months they finally allowed me 45 days free parking, but every time I ever went in to reception they made me feel very uncomfortable about it.
The reception staff are the rudest people I have ever met! Not only will they attempt to make your life a living hell but they give you dirty looks at every opportunity.
On the website it says 'Safety & security are key priorities of ours' and there are security guards on the gate and 24 hour CCTV. This however didn't stop a security guard following me up the stairs one day and lifting up my skirt and feeling my bottom as like he told me 'There are no camera's on the stairs'.
On special occasions the people in my flat threw parties. I didn't particularly mind this until (me being so anti-drugs) was sat in my room while they smoked weed outside of my room. After asking them to stop they blew the weed under my door. I rang security and they came up and did nothing about the situation. Another occasion was when a girl brought a lot of guys back with her and then left them in our living room and she went out. The rules are that you have to stay with your guest at all times. Having an en-suite toilet there was nowhere for those guys to go to the toilet. I woke up to many of my bowls and pans filled with urine.
On moving out I was told that the total coming out of my deposit was £6 due to damages in the communal area. After leaving the amount I actually had to pay was £45 due to a cig burn being found in the carpet of the communal area after I had left and a broken TV stand.
I recommend this halls only for the location but I would look at alternatives options before this!

Millyp (mill Point) 'there Guide To Living'
Living in Mill Point halls in my first year of my Business degree was possibly the best choice of my whole entire life. Being a small-town girl from Wales I never thought that I would fit in many places and having to share kitchen accomodation was possibly the worse thought for me.
I got there a week earlier than most people to get a feel for my environment and it was great!!!
I can still remmeber my first day there, everyone gathered on the grass for greeting drinks so that you get to meet people on your course or people who just go to Manchester Univeristies or Colleges, infact I met my best friend on 3 years by having greeting drinks. The music was playing, everybody having a social drink on the benches, laughing and smiling.. security were present on-site (as they are 24/7)so you felt safe just incase people got to rowdy.
Mill Point accomodation is definately ideal for your first, second or even third year, people are social; the reception, security, maintenance and House-keeping team were amazing, if they can help they will.
Laundry facilities were always responibly priced and you even get couches and a tv to chill with your friends of an eve although its like big brother your being watched by CCTV. Ideal transport to all major sites and cities within manchester. Great for dominos deliveries ;) and a gym & aquatics is literally a 10 minute walk away.
Majority of the time I would park within Mill Point and although it is pricey it is better than getting a parking ticket every morning from the sneaky traffic wardens who must have got me at least 4 times before towing my car away for £200.00 release fee!
I see other people saying that they think Mil Point are out 'to get ya' for all your money.... to be honest ye okay they do charge a dear price for parking and for burns, damages to walls etc... in all fairness if you were to live in a professional flat like me now you get charged a ridiculous amount of deposit fees... a ridiculous amount of damage charges... its life at the end of the day and every landlord will be worse than student halls!
My friends and I still remember Mill Point as the best year of our life and we would do it all again.
security at night are very good as well ,they look after you.
Yeah i have to agree, millpoint is amazing! Everyones proper nice, staff are great, halls are the cleanest i've ever seen. All round after 3 years i've been really happy staying there. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Mill Point Is An Absoloute Joke!! You Pay For Lite
Mill Point is an absoloute joke!! You pay for literally EVERYTHING.. My friends who have been at uni before were shocked when I told them I was paying £101.43 a week. My brother went to university a few years ago and paid £95 a week and was catered. Not only this but you have to pay for the internet which is £141 a year! AND parking is a no-go at £17.50 a week. I think this is a complete rip off as my friend who is at Salford uni pays £69 a week, gets free internet and parking.. The only plus side to Mill Point is it's a bit more up-to-date and you have an en-suite bathroom.
The staff are horrid too, our window broke just due to general wear and tear because it kept sticking and then got stuck so we couldn't shut the window. When we reported the window and insisted that it wasn't anyone in particular's fault the woman at reception was very rude and said it must be someones fault, it made us feel very uncomfortable and didn't make us feel welcome at all.
Not only this, but the turnstiles at the front are stupid.. If you have a few bags then forget it, you can't fit through and even if you are a bigger person i think you would struggle a bit. Theres a gate at the end which security can open, but half the time when i've gone home during the day theres no one there, so i've had to manage and try and get my suitcase through.
One final thing which has happened recently is my friend left the accommodation early because he quit his course. They came round to his room to inspect it, with a video of what the room should like. You pay a £100 deposit when you first move in, he was charged £150 over the deposit! This apparently was due to a black mark on the wall and the bathroom apparently not being clean, £150!! There just a joke, stay away!

Mill Point Seem Good At One Thing, Taking Your Mon
Mill Point seem good at one thing, taking your money. You pay through the nose for everything, and see very little return. You cannot even park your car for a couple of hours without paying five pounds. Staff are hit and miss, some are nice, some are plain rude. The turnstile to enter the accommodation is unnecessary and awkward when you have shopping bags, or even your uni bags.
To park at the halls for an entire year is something along the lines of 700pounds. In Bramall Court, it is free.
The room itself is alright, one heater that only makes things uncomfortably hot. The hot water comes and goes. Over Christmas my neighbours were robbed, every door smashed in and nothing was done about it.
Avoid Mill Point (Liberty Living)halls at all costs, literally all costs. Extremely expensive and It's all going to someones pocket who has no care for your education.
