Ocean Dental, Cancun, Awful!
Horrible!! They have really gone downhill. The dentist there basically tortured me this month. I had several crowns put in, and the dentist started cutting off my gums, without consulting me! And, with very little pain killlers,
I was in agony. Then, he dug in his icepick type tool into the recently cut up gums. And, then shoved a $300 bill at me, and I never agreed to the horrible gum cutting, all over my mouth.
I was basically crying hysterically in the hall. My face started twitching all over, from the extreme pain. I mentioned the pain, and he shot up one small area of my mouth, and continued digging into the gums on the other side. (Cancun Ocean Dental).
I was jumping and wincing all over the place. It was awful, and he didn't even offer me ibruprophen. I had to drive to Puerto Aventuras that night, and nearly got into an accident, I was so upset, and in awful pain.
We talked to the office manager the next day, and the snot nosed millenial, (I am in my sixties), told me condascendingly, "well, you know that dental work is "not fun", and often painful". Like it was MY FAULT! He's lecturing me about pain,
I have a broken back, that required four very painful back fusions. Along with 3 difficult c-sections, with complications. I have had VERY painful things happen to me, and I know there is something called "pain control".
Unbelievable! And, they kept changing our appointments, and there was general confusion there. Not a good environment. The dentist refused to apologize to me. Figures.

Deceived, Swindled, Mislead
I kept talking myself into excusing their work because I was paying 30% of what I would have in the states. But I still paid thousands of US dollars! The facts are:
1. The owner, one or two receptionists, and of course the financial person speak English. The doctors do not.
2. The owner is a dentist, she chipped and cracked my front tooth which was part of an 8 unit bridge. She then filled in the chip which fell out a couple of hours later. When I called and sent pictures after I got home she refused to fix it.
3. I had 3 implants done. The color was glaringly light compared to the rest of my teeth they were very obvious and she wouldn't change them. I chose the color for 1 of my crowns and it was the only one that matched.
4. They claim to guaranty their work but they absolutely do not.
5. I asked for zirconium implants, the day I was having them done and was in the chair I was confirming I was getting zirconium and they said no, if I wanted zirconium they would have to order them and that would delay my treatment which would cost me mucho dinero. I would have to extend my stay $ change my airline ticket $ be off work longer $.

Very Poor Dentist
Well it happened again, lost my 7th veneer out of 16. I'll have to have it re attached by a real dentist. Great job Ocean Dental, you have almost reached the 50 percent failure rate.
Well it's September 24th, 2017 and the eighth of 16 veneers has detached. Congratulations Ocean Dental, you have reached the 50% failure rate. Looks like I can look forward to the anxiety of detaching veneers for years to come. I said it before and I will say it again, don't walk away from this dentist----RUN AWAY!!!!

My wife and I both set appointments for 4-13-15 and we were a bit delayed getting in, but worth the wait. I had 3 implants put in with very minimal pain at all. My wife was supposed to have 3 wisdom teeth extracted but they made a better decision, and had a root canal, 1 extraction and a permanent crown placed, thus restoring her natural teeth to better condition. Although we spent several hours at the new facility we were still pleasantly surprised. you just cannot get this good of care in the USA by even paying twice the amount.

SHAME ON "dentalia Cancun"!!!!
My experience with "dentalia Cancun" indicated that they have no integrity. I flew 1000 miles for an appointment. They waited until I sat down in the dentist's chair before raising the rates. "dentalia Cancun" claimed that the cost increase was due to the exchange rate between the Peso and Dollar then further inflated the exchange rate claiming 15.8 Pesos to the Dollar rather than the 13.8 exchange rate every where else in Cancun. All of these arguments were bogus of course since I was paying in Pesos and their website clearly stated the price in Pesos with no mention of any prices in Dollars. I believe that their practices are purposely deceptive.
My thoughts are as follows: Why would anyone entrust their oral health to people with such low ethical standards? I chose "dentalia Cancun" because they were the best rated clinic in Cancun. I caution you to consider that the ratings may be inflated by their minions in order to garner business.
There are many- many clinics to choose from in the Cancun area. I cannot speak for the others, but I can share with you that "dentalia Cancun" is to be avoided. Proceed at your own peril.
