I Will Not Be Going Back

I booked a Spa day with my boyfriend and I upgrated the 25 min for a 50 min full body massage. The spa was ok and the meal lovely but the massage was just horrible, the back massage was not very good, it feelt like the person doing it didn't want to be there at all and when she got to the legs was like she was just apply body cream and that was it, plus a few break she was taking during the 50 minutes that the massage lasted.

A waste of money and very unprofessional staff.

I Have Been A Guest On A Few Occasions To The Club

I have been a guest on a few occasions to the club in Hampton, and have always enjoyed it - until about a month ago. I got food poisoning very badly from food I ate at lunch time,(and even had the Doctor in at 11 one night when I was desperately ill) and have reported it a number of times to Management, who have said they would look into it and reply, but I have heard absolutely nothing to date. This is such poor service, and when it is a matter of health, the kitchens and food should be looked in to very closely. I also heard that other people were very ill that week. I was thinking of becoming a member, but this of course has put me right off, and there is no way I am going to spend one penny in the place. The member I went with is now thinking of leaving the Club if we do not get any further information. Health and Safety should be their priority, and if they are not worried about this, then I think the standard of the club is no where near up to scratch. Rest assured, that I have not forgotten, and I will take things further if need be.

I Was Hoping To Join The David Lloyd Hampton Gym B

I was hoping to join the David Lloyd Hampton gym but after reading reviews of other David Lloyd gyms across the uk i'm pretty disappoited.

I know DL Gyms arent cheap but the facilities they have here should make up up for the cost i think.. it can't be any more expensive then the virgin active at the Twickes Ruby Stadium. Will check the Hampton gym this week will get back to you all with result. However i can feel the virgin gym calling, burning my pockets and breking my bank.. oh well less work lunches and pub visits for me!

At First Glance Amida Hampton Is A Health Club Wit

At first glance Amida Hampton is a health club with a wealth of facilities including Spa, 9 hole Golf course and Tennis courts. The staff are keen as most sales staff are to sign you up to a years contract offering free vouchers for additional facilities and events. The club has recently been bought by The David Lloyd Group and has lost its independence and attention to detail. Amida has seen a number of changes with the introduction of children inline with David Lloyds other clubs. Gone are the days when the club picked up awards for its facilities and from our experiences the club has problems with basic maintenance of the gym equipment. I believe that cleanliness and hygiene have become the real issue in recent months and the Spa, wet area and changing facilities now seem a place to avoid. Membership at Amida Hampton is not cheap and frankly there are better clubs in the area.

It is very expensive. Classes are boring for the price. Everything is on during the day, so you'd need to give up your job to get along.

All the club's resources are targetted at families which means on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, it's like a nursery school with toddlers toddling around and you having to navigate around them and watch their little fingers when closing doors etc. It's really designed for mummies. And if there are any issues, don't expect David Lloyd to be interested. YOu might get surveys emailed, but if issues are raised, no one will ever contact you to discuss them. I also didn't appreciate a member of staff staring fixedly at my squishy tummy (the day before my holidays) and making comments while looking on, transfixed. Also, didn't think much of them demonstrating one of the key fob training thingies, and showing me some poor man's personal data!! Although the main gym area is open til 10.30pm, in reality the staff switch off the machines prior to this, and if you comment you'e told that they don't get paid after 10.30pm. Similarly cleaners have asked me to vacate the pool prior to closing time. I don't want to hear payment sob stories from staff when I'm paying close to £100 a month for gym membership.

I found this review very helpful because I have had the same experiences and have cancelled my membership as a result - don't use them!!!
