Really Quick, Efficient And Firendly
If you arent sure where to buy from - use these guys. I called them up and they were really friendly and helpful. I'd been quoted 2-3 months elsewhere for a D800 and they said they could get it out the next day. I got a call the next morning telling me the delivery company had dispactched it and gave me a tracking order number. It arrived shortly after. They told me it would be about a month to get a second battery and specific memory card - 4 days later they call to let me know they found some and they would be with me the next day.
Great service which you dont pay over the odds for. Highly reccomend.

Best Customer Service Ever
I have bought my Nikon D7000 on focus on imaging this year (2012). Unfortunatelly the camera broke down after 5 days of use (with max. 100 pictures taken). So, I went to Jacobs to ask for a replacement and I was expecting to have loads of hassles (maybe waiting for warranty repair for a few weeks etc) - luckily the whole team did behave really great, they have called warehouse immediatelly to find out to confirm the situation (as the D7000 was sold out after focus) and was promised to get call from store manager next day (saturday). After speaking with the manager on Saturday he explained that the warehouse and Nikon are closed that day and promised to deal with it as first thing on monday. On monday I have received a call again saying the replacement will arrive the next day - so I picked up my camera on Tuesday as promised! The whole time I got answers for all my questions in a professional and polite manner and I felt I am not just an "another" customer. Would definitely recomend.

My dear spouse went to the shop to ask for a reprint of a single slide picture.
The vendor, an English young man refused and said Jacobs do not do that kind of job. I have a last week invoice for a reprint of a full slide film...
After what I rang the shop to talk to the manager who was not there but in a café.
At the end I spoke with someone who said he was the manager, a man with an Indian accent.
I had to repeat three times the story and after what I said he lost a client. I WAS a good client of that shop Canon EOS 5d mkii, lenses etc and lab jobs for testing my different film cameras.
That man asked me to go in front of him to repeat he was not a good manager and was VERY impolite.
Pity I'm crippled and cannot go to see him.
This is so easy to bully a female client, these vendors of yours are so brave.
This is outrageous and I will certainly advise my friends to avoid such a shop with such incompetent staff and manager.
I am sure the general management will do nothing because I understand now the client is nothing for such little shops just good to take easy money and unable to deliver a real photographic service. As my father said when it is a bad vendor it is a bad manager.
We wait for last test films coming from the lab and will never after spend a penny in that sad business.

Ordered a camera online and paid extra for a next day delivery, 5 days later and still no delivery, the courier Jacobs used lost the item !!!..... this took a lot of my time to try and resolve and Jacobs did little to help..... a lot of "lets wait and see"..... found the whole episode awful....
Jacobs should have took control of the situation and not left it to the customer

Did Not Contact Me To Tell Me My Item Was Out Of Stock.
What a joke. Item was listed as In Stock online. Bought it. Paid for next day delivery. Two days later still no item. I had to contact them to be told this item had been out of stock for MONTHS!!! But if I wanted, I could spend an extra £15 on a new version. I requested a full refund (over the telephone) and when I asked for conformation they said "we give verbal conformation only"
This company needs to be removed from google's product search.
Lesson learned - use amazon.

Lost Photographs My Fault!!!!!
After using jacobs for years I took in old Black and White photographs to be transfered to digital disk and for reprints.
On collection it was discovered that several photographs were missing.
i was informed that it was my fault that THEY had misplaced them, the misplacement was explained as they could have mistakenly given them to another customer and that they relied upon customer honesty for the return of said misplaced items.
It was then said that I must have forgotten to include the photographs for scanning to disk.
When I asked how they had produced the reprints and that they had actually scanned them upon the checking of the disk (within store I might add), It was back to it being MY FAULT again for the misplacing of the said missing photographs.
I was informed that I would have to wait for at least 14 days befoore they could be classed as lost.
I would also have to wait 14days before they could do anything about any re-embursement.
It did not matter that the photographs were of sentimental value and that each had hand written information on the back by various now deceased relatives, or the fact that the photographs were from the 1930's/1940's. (That is why the digital scanning was required).
Sorry where-as the service used to be 2nd to none IMO. It is now 2nd to many.
I am still awaiting the return of lost photographs, though I don't hold out much hope.
I have also purchased the neccessary equipment to scan items myself so obviously will not be returning to the said store again. Not even for advice.

Rubbish Returns Policy
Bought two memory cards from Jacobs for work. Turns out I didn't need them in the end, so went to return them just over a week later.
They refused to take them back saying they didn't have a returns policy. They didn't inform me of this when I purchased the memory cards, and also when I went home and checked it actually says on their website you have 7 days to return goods.
Ignoring the fact that they didn't tell me that I only had 7 days to return the cards when I bought them, and this is legally dubious anyway; or the fact they lied to me when I went to return the cards; 7 days is well below industry standard for returns. It gives customers no leeway in deciding about purchases.
I will not be buying anything from Jacobs again because of this.
Does the law say you can get a refund if you change your mind? I dont think it does.

Bought a canon s95 online said approx 5-7 days and it came in those time scales really happy with the service and would shop in one of their stores as a result, I need to buy the case to go with it so will be calling them in the next few days.

I Have Been Dealing With This Company Since I Boug
I have been dealing with this company since I bought my DSLR nearly 18 mnths ago for a superb price the staff are very friendly and know what they are on about unlike certain other stores which I know.
I have no real problems at all but what i would like is the prices of certain items maybe dropped just a little bit as certain other shops do them at a slightly better price.
