By the Bay, Mevagissey

By The Bay, in Mevagissey, is a great little gift and homeware shop. They have sourced a wonderful selection of quality crafted items, which for me have always helped aid the wonderful memories of a great holiday in Cornwall. Recently I have used their online shop and have been impressed by the speed of service, speed of delivery, how well the items had been packed and perhaps most importantly the quality of the product.

I recently purchased both a Round Silver Fish Trivet and a Shoal of Fish Silver Trivet, both by Shoeless Joe, from By The Bay,

These trivets looks stylish in my kitchen, are light and easy to clean, and with none slip feet doesn't shift around on my work surface or leave marks (like some of the cast iron trivets out there on the market). Both items were great for placing hot items off the hob and out the oven on. When not in use I lean them up against the tiles in my kitchen, and they look stunning. Quality item, great price and from a great little shop.

Purchased an £8 mug (I.e. not cheap!) mug from them whilst on holiday, got it home to find it had a huge crack right through it; By The Bay refused to acknowledge it was their issue blaming us for not checking the item before leaving the store! Buyer beware!!!

I recently ordered a lighthouse ornament from by the bay for my grandson's bedroom. Original item was out of stock, but was asked if I would accept a similar item as a substitute. I agreed and this arrived very promptly. It was nicely made and good value for money. Customer service was excellent and i was informed by email of the progress of my order at every stage, would thoroughly recommend!
