Sofas Not Fit For Purpose
This is what Fishpools say about their Brindisi sofa range!! "Sink into the Brindisi leather sofa collection and relax. Designed to offer the ultimate in comfort with generous plump cushions and a supportive high back."
Nothing could be further from the truth, sitting on a rock would be preferable. Have given up trying to break these in. The sofas in the showroom were comfortable. I phoned the store and they agreed to send out an assessor who claimed that the showroom sofas and the sofas delivered to us felt the same to sit on. I went into the store again; predictably I found a stark difference. I spoke to a member of staff who was rude and condescending, he basically told me to contact the ombudsman!! Several family members are Fishpools customers or should I say were customers. Shocked at the lack of customer service. We now have to fork out for replacement sofas as we can no longer tolerate sitting on the floor in front of these sofas - so disappointing and not expected from a family run business...

Item was not wxpensive but wasn't expecting quality to be as poor as it is! Misleading photos and now have to pay return fee of £9!!! Really disappointed. First and last time I use this company.

Should A New Mattress Fit A New Bed Both From Fishpools?
Purchased a number of items from this retailer....everything was great until delivery of the new king size mattress was far too small for the delivered and then built new king size bed frame....after numerous telephone calls, photographs & emails I suggested they organise for their specialist to take a look...Their specialist took measurements and photos and stated “that he had never seen a mattress not fit onto the bed frame like that”...I took a call from Fishpools the following day and they stated that the mattress and frame are supposed to be those sizes....I never did get a call/text back from their specialist...I wonder why?...i spoke to a floor manager/buyer who informed me that the bed frame is a Euro King Size and the Mattress is a UK king size...and that the initial sales person should have informed me of that...after trying around 6 mattresses in store the sales person didn’t mention a word about different king size measurements.....and if he had I would have obviously not proceeded with the purchase of a mattress that didn’t fit the bed....the manager then informed me that they could custom make another mattress to properly fit the bed frame...well we are getting somewhere now...oh at an extra cost....I hit the roof...am I missing a trick here...all I want is for the mattress to fit the bed frame...that’s all...not too much to ask is it....finally he agreed to make one to fit..to which I have now received...did I have to go through all of that pain....I myself am a long standing retailer and wouldn’t dream of putting my customers old or new through that bad experience....I should have gone with my initial gut....John Lewis next time 100%.....ps I have images before & after on file which I would love to share....

Awful Delivery
They texted us a day before saying,
“Please expect your Fishpool's delivery tomorrow between 11am and 2pm. Cancellation within 48 hours of delivery will incurr a charge of 50 pounds”
But if they are behind schedule whatever, they don’t contact us, just ignore. This is really low level of service.
I’m not happy this occasion. I ordered our furniture long time ago. It was good shop and service. Things have changed a lot. I’m very disappointed.
Holes In Sofa After Just Over 3 Years
We bought 2 leather sofas. After just over 3 years the leather on one had cracked, so badly it was going into a hole, we went to the store who were not interested as they were over 3 years old.
They are now 5 years old and fit for the skip
Fushpools after care and service has been disgusting
For 40 years we have bought everything from Fishpools
All of our furniture, bedding and home wear have come from Fishpools
We are retired pensioners with no children or pets at home.
We are very house proud and look after our home.
Fishpools was our favourite store but we would now never recommend them.
Whilst in the store complaining two customers asked to see our photos we had taken and walked out of the store and said they will now shop elsewhere as this was not acceptable

Not Good Enough
After 12 weeks my expensive 3 piece arrived i ordered leather....it looks and shines like plastic, does not have the grain of the sample i was given. PLUS the 3 seater is 3 different heights and many seams are uneven and not straight. I called and they sent a man round he hit the 3 seater trying to level it !
now i have been sent a letter basically saying tough ! I called again today i was promised a return call i am STILL waiting. Been coming here for years Fishpools you are no longer worthy of my custom.
Dreadful Service
We purchased some rattan furniture last July which is not even a year old. One of the chairs has a dip in it, we are not sure how this has occurred but after having the repair man out to look at it who was very unhelpful and did not seem to appreciate going out in the rain to look at the chair we have been told it cannot be repaired and if they can get a replacement we will have to pay for it!! I mentioned to him that it looked like something heavy had been dropped on it and he asked if we had children, in his report he said I mentioned my daughter may have jumped on it which I did not say!! I said something heavy which I had no idea what that could be???
I am disgusted with the service, we also bought a new dining table from them at Christmas which I wish I had not bothered now!!!

Broken Sofa In Less Than A Year
I was recommended to fish pools by a family member. Unfortunately I have had nothing but problems with Fishpools.
I ordered a couch and footstool which upon delivery the footstool was 9cm shorter in height than the specifications so now the footstool is not the same height as the couch and does not go together as one piece even though according to their own specifications it should be.
To resolve this I wanted the footstool remaking to the correct height by fishpools however, they refused and instead refunded me just for the footstool. So this left me with a sofa and footstool which do not go together.
Then less than a year later (11 months), we notice the middle of the couch is sagging so we call fishpools who send a repair man to come and fix it 2 weeks after reporting the fault. He turns up and says the couch is too badly damaged (looks like a faulty frame) and has to go back to the warehouse to be fixed. So we get the repair booked in and a week later they come and pick up the couch and tell me that it will be back within 2 weeks.
2 weeks passes and we don't have any contact from fishpools. I call them to find out when delivery would be, which they say its not even been fixed yet, and was only scheduled in to be fixed 2 weeks after it was collected so why they decided to just leaving it sitting there for 2 weeks is anybodys guess. Finally I get them to commit to a delivery date which would have been 3 weeks since they picked it up for repair. This means since I reported the faulty sofa to them, it would have been almost 6 weeks till they intend to bring the couch back to me.
To sum up fishpools, they don't make the sofas or footstools as per their own specifications. They are shockingly bad quality to break in less than a year in the way it did. The repairs turnaround time is just ridiculous (6 weeks from reporting the fault to them wanting to return the delivered sofa which I still have not received). Fishpools never call you back when they say they will. Then when trying to call fishpools you will be lucky if anyone answers the phone. Mostly it just rings out. When I do get to speak with someone I am passed between the services dept and the warehouse.
Finally as a customer, you are supposed to receive a FEEFO review request so I could review them. Looks like fishpools try and cherry pick customers to send FEEFO review requests to, so they can improve their review score. I never received a FEEFO review request from fihspools, I have to wonder why.
I would advise going to another furniture maker who values their customers and makes their furniture as per specifications and to good quality.

High Maintenance Sofa
We have purchased two sofas from fishpools, they are only a year old and they look like more like 10 years old. We did complain and they sent someone round who told us that it was a high maintenance sofa and that we needed to dress it every day and that their was nothing wrong with it. Not happy at all won't be returning to fishpools in a hurry.

Shocking Service!
Very poor, incompetent and unprofessional service from start to finish. Staff are rud and unhelpful. After-care and customer service is non-existent. They delivered a faulty sofa, with the wrong scatter cushions, but when I complained, were rude and dismissive and refused to give me a refund. I had to take my complaint to the Furniture Ombudsman, who sent someone to inspect the sofa and agreed it was of inferior quality and faulty and only then would Fishpools collect the sofa and refund my money, which was many months later and leaving me again without anything to sit on and having to order another sofa from elsewhere, which meant another wait of 12 weeks!
I would never recommend this company to anyone. My friend also recently had a very similar experience with a bed she purchased there, so potential buyers beware - think again!!
