Wedding Ring Snapped In Half
Due to my husbands health rapidly deteriorating, we were married with just 4hrs notice. My son rushed out to buy 2 wedding rings & came back with a matching pair of white gold bands. 13 months later, my wedding ring has split in half. A repair can not be done and a replacement is no good to me. Very sadly, my husband passed away just 24 days after placing the ring on my finger. I had vowed never to take it off. Now I havent even got a ring to wear. Total cheap nasty rubbish, that shouldnt be sold as its not fit for purpose. A wedding ring is for life not just a year :( Im absolutely gutted :(
Gold Acid Test
My Father bought me a 48g 9ct gold bracelet for my 40th birthday,
5 years ago, also he bought me a 48g 9ct gold chain necklace the same year
for my Christmas present.. Since money is a little tight at the moment
I went to sell them, only to be told that the acid test isn't clear enough
therefore no risk would be taken in buying the gold from me.
I know what he paid for these items and I am very upset with the obvious floor
in the quality of the gold, they are stamped 925 9 ct, it would seem
that the gold standard is not up to scratch. I will be going to Argos to
air my opinion... Not recommended to anyone...
925 is standard silver. Your jewellery is gold plated silver
I would question the acid test rather than the hallmark. A big retailer like Argos can not sell fake or below quality gold as the hallmark is the quality mark. There are too many variables with the acid test ardent you sure they were not trying to rip you off?

Jewellery Cleaner Well Worth Buying
I purchased Elizabeth Duke jewellery cleaner from Argos about 3yrs. I use it on all my jewellery and it is fantastic. It comes in a tub and is liquid with a little tray to place your jewellery on. It is so easy to use and does a great job. I would recommend it to anyone.

3 Different 9 Crt White Gold Rings (still In Catal
3 different 9 crt white gold rings (still in catalogue) i bought from Elizabeth Duke at Argos for my wife for Christmas, they are starting to go yellow so we took them back to the shop only to be told that it is NORMAL for WHITE GOLD to turn YELLOW if you wear it when washing up as detergent is the cause and therefore they were not going to do anything about it.
Gold is yellow then it is mixed with other metals to try and make it as white as possible but it is inpossible to make it a true white.it is then rodium plated to give it its shiney white finish witch as any plating will wear off how quick depends on the wearer. This is quite normal and is the same at any jewellers as gold is yellow and and not white.
totally agree...
had white gold wedding ring on 2007 cost £36 cos money was tight and within a 4 months it went yellow!!
not happy as its wedding ring and even tho i picked a cheaper ring it shud still be the 9ct it states and last longer than that!1
as a result i will be replacing my ring but is has ruined the overall occasion as ill no longer be wearing the ring i was married with...
this is very true.....this is swaying me to have my engagment ring yellow gold as my white gold has turn slightly yellow over the years.if you want your white gold to last you have to treat it with such care but if like me want to wear day in day out stick to yellow gold!
i have brought argos gold sevral time and have never had no problems.....looking at a ring at present.

From Elizabeth Duke At Argos My Boyfriend Bought M
From Elizabeth Duke at Argos my boyfriend bought me a white gold bangle with double hearts that did up with a clasp, the clasp broke-luckily we got cover so they sorted it and we got it back 2-3 weeks later, however, a month or so again the clasp broke again, took it back and they refused to fix it as we didn't have the cover-they had kept it from before. Staff member we dealt with seemed a bit rude to us, i said that it was kept the last time it broke, i had the receipt that said it was replaced but they wouldn't accept it. i kicked off a big fuss about the item and their service, the item was not in the next catalogue but one similar was for 20 quid. i then took it to a fancy jewellers to get it fixed and they said they thought it would just keep on breaking.. gutted as it was the first present my boyfriend bought me and it was VERY expensive.

I Needed A Blue Ring Which Was Cheap And Looked Ni
I needed a blue ring which was cheap and looked nice. I preferred Topaz. The staff at Argos were friendly, and measured my finger quickly and accurately. The ring was a 9ct gold ring with a Topaz heart, and it was amazing value for money, as it was just £18.79. When I bought it, it needed a polish, but when it was polished up it looks gorgeous! It looks pretty, and under 10x magnification it has very few inclusions. The gold is not the best quality, but it could be buffered up a bit to make it even shinier. The Topaz is a pale blue, and it reflects the light well on each of its facets. Even in dim lighting, it has magnificent fire. Considering the price, and how great it looked, I would definitely buy from Elizabeth Duke at Argos again. Now I'm going to tell all my friends it cost thousands of pounds from a posh jewellery shop!
