Points Taken Off Before 12 Months!

I purchased Chanel February 2024 from Boots. I had seen that there was £23 on my Advantage Boots card since the purchase. I bought a little makeup on 6 January 2025 and saw the £23 points were still there but was unable to have the new points put on with the latest sale, but soon I would have take the receipt into my local Boots to have the new points added.

Today, 13 January, I looked at the Advantage card online and the £23 value of points have been taken off leaving me with zero points!

The small print says that I will lose points if I hadn't made a purchase within one year, but it has only been 11 months and I was unable to have the latest points put on. Boots are more expensive than most shops anyhow. They would need to sort themselves out with their loyalty cards!!

Offers

Received an in store only offer of free no.7 mascara this morning and when I got to store they had run out of product. Not only had they run out but it was restricted to a certain colour so restricting everyone to that colour, unfair when you need to use brown rather than black. Can’t have had that many to give away either.

Don’t offer an offer you can’t achieve. When you spend a lot of money with boots it is very disappointing. Not interested in the customer but what they need to get rid of.

Bad Boots

can't believe I have come to use my boots card and they have taken more than £40 worth of points off me. I use it for Christmas presents each year. I shall no longer be using boots a gain. That was my money that earned last year.

Redeeming Points Joke!

Come on Boots! Your redeeming points scheme is absolutely rubbish. I have been saving my points for an item that cost £37.99, I had £22 on my advantage card. I was shocked when at the till I was told I could not pay the extra money towards the item and had to have enough points on the card to pay for the item in full! Even the cashier was apologising and shrugging her shoulders as much to say it's stupid! This is just a joke, in this day and age where every other store you are allowed to make up the difference in cash on your points cards. Boots, you really need to pull your socks up, bite the bullet, or do whatever you need to do and stop being so greedy! The item I wanted I can buy elsewhere so this is where I will be going, elsewhere! I won't be shopping in Boots now if I can avoid it as I don't want to give my money to a company that does not appreciate it's customers by not letting them have the right to spend their points towards items and paying the extra in cash. It's ridiculous tight fisted and self indulgent.

No Communication Ahead Of Changed Ts&cs

One of my old email addresses got pulled out of use (executive decision by that company but I didn't receive info from them....) and it happened to be the one that I was registered with for Boots. They would have received bounceback messages when they tried to send me information and should have fallen back on sending me things by post.

So I received no news about stored points expiring after one year instead of two. I did use my card in store in early 2022, so under the old Ts&Cs these points would still be valid. Have been wiped and snaffled up by this greedy company.

Nectar or Tesco would have added the points as a gesture of goodwill. It was not many pounds but it is the principle of the thing and makes the experience of Boots disappointing - leaves a bad taste in the mouth. No empathy in Customer Services.

Not Worth It

Boots I would say is at least 30% more expensive than my local shops around me, the advantage card pretty much only offers 4% off now. Not worth it at all and I have stopped shopping at boots, it’s a sham making you think you are saving money.

Waste Of Time

Unlike other loyalty cards after a period if points are not claimed or used Boots will delete them. For shoppers who are accumulating points there is NO ADVANTAGE. I find Boots already have an average higher price than there rivals & often some stores are poorly stocked. I am disgusted buy the points system & would rather purchase without using the Loyalty system knowing also that what I purchase is also tracked to me.

GOODBYE BOOTS.

Value For Money But Difficult To Claim

It has good deals, specially on Boots products. And you get extra discounts for some products if you are a advantage card member.

But sometimes its hard to claim, since you cant use it to pay part of your bill, so you have to break the bills or something of that sort.

Do Not Be Fooled!

Once upon a time the advantage card was worth it but those days have long gone. As previous posts have stated if Boots can get away with not honouring points on purchases or payment they will! I wrote regarding my mum's card as with her dementia she could no longer use and knew she had the equivalent hundreds of pounds saved here. Told me card not used points lost, end of no compassion. Appealed again and got an automated response. I spent on my card on line to trigger it and no points added. They are not a cheap store and their deals are often misleading. Like many big companies their attitude to us the customer defies belief. Shop elsewhere and they may get the message!!!
