Always the Bridesmaid, Chester

why i understand that there are alot people angry and upset i never had any problem i really think that it was since they moved to vicars cross out of chester cty center there problems began i got my wedding dress and 6 bridesmaids dresses from them and they were all excellent im sorry for the people that has had problems wth them and my heart goes out to them

I had used Always The Bridesmaid on numerous occassions and found the sevice to be very good. But i feel so betrayed by this spiteful, dispicable woman. I had ordered 6 bridemaid dress and paid a large deposit. We were due for a final fitting 2 wks before my wedding abroad, but they called to cancel it 2hrs before after all my bridesmaids travelled over here. The appointment was re arranged for the following week, that morning i recieved a letter so say they had closed.Caroline would not answer her phone. I was left with 1 wk before my wedding to find 6 new dresses.

Common decency and respect, would have gone a long way, this woman and her staff should never be trusted or allowed in buisness again.

I appreciate this is a late review but i have only just heard about this site, from another dress shop, who has had many stories from lots of angered customers. I hope the court case rules in our favour.

Thank you for the people who actually put the information on this site that the shop had closed down. I hope people continue to keep this going for a little while longer so people have time to make other plans when they find out they are not getting what the ordered. I ordered last april and paid a deposit. I was due to taken my bridesmaids for a fitting and googled the shop to get the phone number and found a review in this site saying the shop had closed. I was so glad that I found this in Jan and still had 2 months before my wedding to make more plans. I feel very sorry for anyone that lost out and those who are still finding out. The shop had been closed for 3 months when I found out. I would have made a 300 mile round trip to the shop if it wasnt for the updates on this website.

People are still writing reviews because they were so let down. NUMPTY. When not just money but also trust has been stolen people don't just forget. HA yourself

Terrible experience last year with Always the Bride but this year I went to 'Belles of Chester' with my second daughter and the service and dresses were second to none, a huge choice of beautiful prom dresses!

I do wonder why people are still writing comments on this review site? The shop has been closed for nearly 5 months now so obviously you people have nothing better to do but if it makes u feel better... And what's with the threats on where the owner lives HA Fool.

I completely regret ever walking in to always the bridesmaid!!! I bought my dress april last year, i paid in full and it was a size 10, then when i was shopping in chester a few weeks later i noticed the shop had gone. In total panic i was asking all the local shops where it had gone to and they didnt no. Luckily a family member of mine noticed a new bridle shop opening by her and it was always the bridesmaid. I phoned them up and the appologised. I went in tried my dress on, it fit perfectly, i was so happy. Only a few months later i got a text message on my phone to say the shop had gone bankrupt and they needed to deliver my dress to me, they deliverd a dress but totally the wrong size. SIZE 6!!!! I couldnt belive it, ive had to take my dress to a different bridal shop and the dress i have had been butchered before it was delivered to me, all the extra material was cut out and it was a mess. I go for my dress fitting on thursday to my new bridal shop so fingers crossed!!! I was totally disgusted the other day when i saw the woman who owned and worked in always the bridesmaid, she works in a shop on cheshire oaks called links!!! I didnt say a word to her because im to upset about the whole situation!

Whilst it may or may not be legal to inform ones customers of impending administration I believe the taking of deposits so close to closure to be if not illegal then definatly immoral! I now seek legal advice on this issue and would urge anyone else who paid deposits close to the closure of this shopto do the same!!

It should be acknowledged that if a business closure is influenced by a bank i.e administration then the owner cannot legally inform customers due to legal reasons. There are few winners in a situation like this, some lose deposits, others dresses and people their livelihoods
