Such a poor service, slow, useless, poor communication. Please if you want good service then do not bother with them
They Do Not Care
Business partner suddenly died during safeguard review. HSBC keep saying will close the account as there is a problem, yes one owner has died but that does not seem to be acceptable. It is a bad enough time without HSBC now for the third time saying the business account will be closed soon as they are not happy with who the owners are. When promised a phone call back with a solution twice I have not had that call. Basically there is no policy or protocol for understanding a sudden death of a business owner can occur and "issues" cannot be resolved in a few days by those left behind.
Stay clear of this Count Down to Crisis trading program. Lots of losing trades. And his customer service is horrible. I have emailed support multiple times & haven't got a single response at all. All my funds has been stocked up in there. Thank God got a refund from the 3rd party Joan C.Hopkins.

An hour and counting. Never seen any big organisation with such a nasty service.

Mostly awful.
The app is hard to use. Getting through to the bank takes ages every time. Most departments don’t know where their responsibility ends and another begins. Each department doesn’t know what other departments do.
Mostly the staff are lovely though and doing their best.
I am now resorting to capitals. AT THE MOMENT I’M TRYING TO CLOSE MY BANK ACCOUNT AND THEY HAVEN’T CLOSED IT IN SIX WEEKS. APPARENTLY THERE’S A QUEUE. NEITHER HAVE THEY SENT ME THE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS IN MY ACCOUNT THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR THINGS.
NEITHER WILL ANYONE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND THEY CAN’T CALL ME BACK AS THEY DON’T MAKE OUTGOING PHONE CALLS

Absolute Nightmare!!
I have been trying to set up a new business account with HSBC for the last 2 months! Comedy of errors and lost documents, repeated requests for information, broken promises 'yes it will definitely be opened by cob today' and long waits on the Helpline?? trying to sort it out. This has impacted my company and personal cashflow as I have not been able to invoice customers. I wish I had never started the application and gone with another bank. AVOID!!

Applied for a business bank account 3 weeks ago. Haven't heard anything from the bank. Tried calling 6 days running. No one has ever answered the phone - waited over 30 minutes listening to terrible music before giving up. Seems to be no way of getting hold of business banking support. If this is what its like trying to open account, really concerned about what its like as a customer.

Hopeless, Arrogant And Unhelpful
Have had a Business Account with HSBC for 3 yrs; a decision I regret. Numerous problems, but latest was that they apparently had an udelivered letter returned to them (I have lived at my address for 20 yrs) and as a result they locked down my account. I have phoned them today and passed all the secutiy checks etc which they are happy with, but when attempting to unlock my account, HSBC have 'lost' my photo ID and state that without this they cannot enable my account. Suggested I take my passport to the nearest HSBC branch for reverification (Not easy when the branches are all shutting locally and the nearest only has opeing times when I am meant to be at work).
No recognition of their error, no apology and compete lack of understanding as to how locking my account down (through their own fault) impacts on running my business.
This was the last straw. I am changing banks.

No Communication And Unwelcoming
Never felt welcome in the bank.
Staff very un friendly.
No communication for 5 years then a letter out of the blue 1 months notice closing my account find somewhere else.
Business Account Opening
If you want to open a business account, the method of doing so depends who you speak to when you phone or have online chat. I want a Community Account for a place of worship. Made an appointment, and then was told to apply online. the online tab for community accounts sends you to a phone number, there's no way to start applying online. Phone operator told me that places of worship can only apply by interview, branch specialist says to apply online, just going round and round in circles and Customer Services passes the buck.
