Stay Away - Completely Terrible - Honestly Save Your Money

Please do not use these people if you value your career development. They are very responsive, and friendly but utterly incompetent. And I have learnt that the initial response you receive are all from an automated programme as well.

After the first intial CV, which I was nervous about as the person did not even seem to understand the nuances of the English language, I then cimplained and asked for a second. Got a very savvy sounding gent who had English as a first langgaue but did a useless job.

All they do is take your CV and re format it and put in cliched statements...I am telling you all, these people let me down at a time when I was really struggling and was desperate to just find work again...They should be ashamed of themselves for the service they provide...I have no services to sell and this is an honest review...please save your money and do no use these people.

I Wish I Had Researched This Company More Thoroughly

If I could have left zero stars I would have. I paid for the executive level service and what I received was absolutely unusable. Despite confirming it would be written in British English beforehand, it was written using American spellings. I provided a significant amount of supporting information from which to draw and yet what was sent over as a "first draft" contained sentences and comments which appeared to be from someone else's CV as it was not even truthful! I refuse to spend any further time helping CVNOW to "rewrite" the CV to a usable form as it is so far off of usable, I may as well have saved my money and written it myself - which frankly appears to be the intention of CVNOW whilst also pocketing my cash. An ABSOLUTE waste of time. I was told I was working with their most senior writer, used to writing director level executive CVs, yet when I complained about the low quality and lack of attention to detail, and the writer not having taken any time to fully understand my skills and experience in order to effectively promote them, I was told maybe I would prefer to work with a more senior writer?? No CVNOW - what I would prefer is for you to refund my hundreds of pounds today - and for everyone to know what to expect from this service - it is not worth the money in my opinion and definitely NOT an executive level service!

Not actually dealing with a person. It's a program that extracts from the resume you send them. It's a complete rip off.

Cv Farmed Out To Overseas Writers With No Uk English Skills

Awful service. I paid for the top tier package after receiving a very good free overview of my initial CV. The 1st draft I received back was appalling. UK English was not used and there were many grammatical errors and incorrectly spelled words. Also, their writing style was completely at odds with common practice in that they went into very long and wordy descriptions of each job I had using several nauseating corporate gobbledygook words. When I asked them to reduce text length to key bullet points they just didn't get it. It turns out that they were farming my CV out to writers in Australia who I don't even believe were native English speakers at that, much less UK English speakers. I would have never sent my CV to be written by writers overseas. This is not down to any xenophobic reasons, but because for a CV to be used in the UK market I would expect an excellent writer who is based in the UK and proficient in UK-style English to write it. Also, they are never available by phone and ONLY respond by email which I find quite creepy. I have completely wasted over £200 on this awful service and am back to using my original CV

Terrible Quality, Terrible Service

I engaged CVnow after their free CV review service. They gave good, fair feedback on the quality of my C.V., and I could see the benefit of getting my C.V. professionally re-written.

I signed up for the top tier package, which promised 48 hour delivery, access to the top 5% of C.V. writers and a LinkedIn re-write.

As soon as the money was taken, it went downhill from there.

They gloriously missed the 48 hour deadline, and only after emailing back and forth for days did they agree to refund a potion of the fee. Never an apology, never with an admission of fault, very slow to reply (two days in some cases).

The amount they offered wasn't reflective of the failing in service, and the extra time I had to spend trying to get it sorted out. I tried to push on it, but was met with "You don't get to decide the value of something, we do".

The quality of the first draft was terrible. I mean, REALLY, terrible. They addressed none of my concerns that were outlined in the initial consultation questionnaire. It had grammatical errors in it (mostly around semi-colons and commas), the writer supposedly had experience in my area (Project Management: Prince2 and Agile), but clearly did not understand any of the language, or important elements of the role (like, you know, managing projects, and removed any reference to my people management experience).

It's abundantly obvious that they tried to squeeze my old C.V. into a new (very dated style of) template, and made it worse in the process.

I had two friends review my old C.V. versus the new C.V. (One is a recruiter, the other works in H.R. at director level with 25 years experience), both said that as a professional C.V. writing service, they should be ashamed.

But they're clearly not. There's an "absolutely no refunds" policy, regardless of the quality of output, and I apparently should be considering myself lucky for getting a refund on their (missed) 48 hour service.

Complete waste of your money with rude/abrasive staff. Do not bother.

Robots R Us

too robotic, too callous and no humor injected, they may look a million cvs a day but they should remember they are dealing with most cherished document the sender has trusted to them.

Disgusting Service Providing One Star Is Too Generous

I purchased the package of £129 to rewrite my CV and cover letter. I received a bland generic cover letter which gave no details of my achievements what so ever. The CV contained spelling and grammatical errors. I received my first draft on the 15th May, provided detailed feedback on the 17th regarding amends. The CV writer assured me they would start working immediately from the feedback provided. He has had the cheek to provide the original CV with no amends on the 26th May and explains that concludes my service.

This level of service is shocking and is not as advertised, they are taking money from people and providing a substandard service potentially when people may feel vulnerable if not managing to secure jobs. I have no intention of using the substandard CV provided by their service (if you could call it that). I will be looking to a formal complaint regarding their marketing communications as they service they advertise is grossly mis-sold.

Really Bad

Having real trouble with this company. Paid £150 and the CV contained grammar and spelling errors. Also written in some very old fashioned type of English not used today. They won't refund me. Buyer beware. Not a good experience.
