Best Company I've Dealt With
Being self employed it was difficult to get credit, I had a few credit rebuilder cards before this one who had very poor customer service, emails went unanswered, poor phone service and often times endless phone calls day in and day out if you happened to miss a payment date.
I've found capital one a pleasure to deal with, I paid every month but due to cash flow issues I alerted them I would be behind on my payment, they can see from my account that I make regular payments on time, I got nothing but respect when dealing with them and they helped me solve my issue very quickly and have really made my life a whole lot easier.
I highly recommend them to anyone thinking about getting a credit rebuilder card, one of the best companies I've found in dealing with people who are outside of the "normal" financial circumstances.

Brilliant!! Just The Job!!
From my own personal experience I have to say my luma credit card has helped dramatically!!
I applied with an extremely bad credit rating through being young and very stupid with money. Now 24 with a baby, house to buy and a partner I'm marrying I needed something to help build bridges with my credit file and me. Luma has done just that. As I was saying my credit history was shockingly poor no one would let me have £10 never mind the £200 starting balance I had. As it was so small it's been easy to manage and I have literally used it on a monthly basis and paid the full balance off on payday, this has meant no intrest and has really really helped my credit file.
I have nothing bad to write on here as my card and pin was received within 4 days of being accepted and haven't looked back since!
These cards are high intrest but when using to build/ re-establish a credit rating there is no need to go crazy'

So Far So Good !
After applying for a Luma card, it only took a week and it was here - easy manageable limit and able to manage my account online. Great !
Thanks Capital one for giving me a change to sort my rating out.
Accepted Online Then Told Provisionally When Ring Up???
I applied for a luma card to go through all the checks to say i'd passed & would get my card in post upto 7/ 10 days so i rang customer services a week later to be told ive only been provisionally approved despite online saying id been approved even taking my bank details to set up a direct debit
So whinging on here is going to help. What's with all the moaning you will only get a limit of £200 can't do much with that can you.

Very Misleading
I applied for a Luma Card one week ago, after being accepted online, was told that I could have £500 credit and that my pin would arrive in 3 to 5 days, I went and entered my bank details to set up the DD and sat back and waited. 7 days later had still not received anything so thought that maybe I had filled the form out wrong and decided to do it all again, this time I was not accepted due to the fact my credit score was too low. How come? My credit score is the same, I thought this company was to help rebuild, I know I have had problems in the past but I am now in a better financial situation and working hard to rebuild my score, ah well, wont bother again

Totally Terrible.....got Rejected For A Card
Well basically I filled in the application for a luma credit card and I thought oh good a card for people with poor credit and for people to build their credit rating.....so filled in the application and it said you have been turned down for a luma card and I couldn't believe it !!
My credit rating was at the time ( well credit score was 870 out of 999 ) which was not to far away from a good rating and haven't got any ccj's at all just a couple of defaults.....and I couldn't believe I got rejected for a card :( and they say this card is for people with poor credit or for people to build a better score ..... What a load of rubbish :o
You can have a perfect credit score but be rejected for credit based on appropriateness of the product you are applying for, if you have a reasonable credit rating but are going for a high interest credit card meant for people with bad credit you are more likely to be declined.

Good But Wish Interest Rate Was Lower
I have been using this card just over a month. I have poor credit rating and luckily I got accepted and my credit limit is £1000. I just wish the interest was lower though.
I am hoping using this card will improve my credit rating. Overall I am pleased with the card so far.
A lot of you need to read some facts about credit cards, credit scoring, and what different providers look for in applicants.
Each provider looks for different things in different applicants.
Cards like this are also for people who don't have any credit so they can create it. I know people who have been victims of identity theft who have to use these cards. Some people I know have cards like Luma, Aqua etc, but have MBNA, Barclaycard. Providers like Barclaycard and MBNA have credit builder cards, and companies like Capital One have platinum cards and cards for high earners and people with impeccable credit scores. Even with a great credit score, you can still be declined for credit.
It's good to have a credit card for various purposes including showing that you can handle credit, which subsequently can keep your credit rating at a good level and if you do need to apply for a loan, credit card, even home energy and mobile phones, it shows you have/had credit and can control and manage it.
If your credit is so good, why are you looking at reviews for this card anyway?

If I was you, I would look for another job? As you are not obviously that well paid, if you need to use credit cards. Someone doing well out of life and control of their money doesn't need a credit card at all? If you have so many credit cards, then your the fool?
People shouldn't live beyond there means.. Get credit then cannot pay it,then apply for more who is the idiot?
Perhaps because that person doesn't live beyond their means and have a Aqua card in there wallets

Just The Job...
I only heard of the Luma card through a money email I recieved - we are (now)a good credit rating and the attraction for me was that IF each month it was paid off in full then one gets 4% back on Supermarket and fuel spend. Yup; that's right. Spend £100 at the supermarket and you will get back £4. There is a limit on the yearly amount one can get back (I think it is £108) but we are coming to the end of our first full year with this card and they owe us just over £90. This is payable in January (for us, anyway) I use another cash-back card for other purchases. I had to call the company once as I was struggling with the on-line thing (I'm no Bill Gates) and they were most helpful. btw if you apply, you MUST SPECIFY the Cash-back card, and we would recommend having it paid off by DD. Note: as our children have left home we no longer have the grocery bills we used to. If we did, I think we'd have been better applying for a card each instead of a joint account. That way we could rack up more cash-back. Remember! Pay it off EVERY month!! (They are part of Capital One by the way)
Full Ov Rubbish They Do Not Giv Quick Answer In 60secs.
This is just another credit company trying to rip people off, i also believe they are using peoples details to sell on to-god knows who! But as a test i entered 2 of my friends details (with their permission) and in each case they DID NOT give an answer within 60secs,as they claim. Rather-they asked for postage of documents!! STEER CLEAR wud b my advice. I also think that the positive reviews are false and written by employees
Sometimes they need more details from people before they can proceed with the application or to approve an application. That happened why I applied for an Argos card and a Tesco Credit.
I've been with Luma for about 4/5 months so far and they've been ok. Each provider has their own criteria, they don't just go on credit score.

Great So Far
Am happy with the service so far, applied about a week ago got expected and received my pin, just waiting on my card to come. My credit is very poor and could not get anything at all. They have give me a credit limit of £200 which is great for me easy to handle. I've also set my online account up and it all looks easy to understand.
Q&A
I just got accepted online for luma card and signed my agreement. It said they were doing credit checks there and then and it came up with approved and showed my credit limit.
Does this mean I am definitely approved and will receive my log in details in 3 days as stated?
Can anyone advise when they give the first limit increase and how do they let you know about this?
What can I use my card for? I can't book ticket online.
I took out an IVA in 2008 which ran for a five year period. I made my last payment in Feb 2014. Would this affect an application for a Luma credit card?
How can I apply for a Luma Credit Card? What is their minimum credit?
You can apply online, google Luma Card.
Minimum credit is £100.
I have sent my form of for my Luma card. When will I receive it?
Can someone 75 years of age apply?
Who can I ask about getting a higher credit limit on my Luma credit card?
Hi
Capital One manage Luma, whether they own it or not,I have never been able to find out. I incensed my Limit by phoning them and asking them. I already had a £1000 limit, they put it up to £1250 straight away...hope this helps ... by the way, although the interest is high, the card is one of the best managed I know of ..
How are you going to base on how much credit you can approved for such individual?
