Halifax International Payment Service

Stuck abroad without money. Made a SWIFT transfer from Halifax to Foreign back and 7 days later no money arrived. Online help ask me to call them but fail to understand that I have ran out of cash to call them but they wont call me to sort out. Halifax promises on their website that money will arrive in 4 days. Never to use it again. Stuck and Angry.

I've been sending £2000-£3000 a month from overseas to my Halifax account for while. For the last two months Halifax hasn't been able to process receiving the money. They have been useless when I've approached them trying to find out what the problem is; refusing to offer any assistance.

I'm now in the process of switching bank accounts.

I have been doing international payments ( transfers ) to Thailand when there 4 years ago it took 3 to 5 days 2 years ago it use to arrive same day cost £9.50. Now i do a transfer and it gone backwards in service to 3 to 5 days again cost £9.50 why? I think it was when the changed to telephone confirmation of setting up an account. But surely this should not have an effect after an account is set up. I have always used the same bank accounts for all the transfers. Or is it Halifax trying to make more with the delay.

Also they want you to do an exchange rate before you make a transfer I never do i always transfer in GBP because i get a far better exchange rate in the Thai bank when it arrives over 3% better in general. I have always done this as well. The only thing that has changed is the transfer time anyone know why. I spoke to the Facebook help and they were no help.

It is always the same answer 7-10days for the money to arrive to destination but all big talk, after 20 DAYS money sent to M'sia have yet to received??? Totally ridiculous and yet have to pay £19.50 for this type of service. I wonder after so much complaints about their service yet no improvement at all, matter of time it will turn away all customers!!!

Money left swedish account 10 days ago (banking days excl weekends) STILL nothing appearing on UK Halifax current account statement - takes ages!

To the point I was double checking IBAN and SWIFT!

Far too long for a transfer!!

As the owner of a rented property in Wales, and living in Ireland, currency exchange has been a problem for several years.Transferring from Sterling to Euro has been a relatively frequent event with rental receipts etc. and I have always felt that I have been screwed in every transaction.Then my son-in-law told me about HIFX International Payments and sent me the link.Once I visited the website it was a simple matter of minutes before I had an account opened, had a quote received and was on my way to my first on-line transfer by this new route.I had previously done several such transfers on line using other services but this was a huge improvement on my previous experiences.The improvements were in all three of the areas that are most important to me -value/rate,simplicity and speed.It was a huge bonus on subsequent transactions to find that the details were already on record in my account eliminating the need to re-enter the receiving account details etc.I am absolutely impressed with this service and would recommend it very highly to anybody in these circumstances, regardless of the scale of their operations.

Normally if I sent monety before 12pm my dad gets it next day!

I HAVE USED THISSERVICE TO SEND MONEY TO JAMAICA IT TOOK OVER TWO WEEKS AFTER THEY SENT THE MONEY TO A HOLDING BANK AND DEMANDED I PAY THEM £12 TO TRACE IT AFTER PAYING THEM £7.50 TO SEND. AVOID USE MONEY GRAM HALIFAX IS NO GOOD, ITS THE WORST TRANSACTION IVE DONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE

9 days passed and money still not there in China. All I can do is join other who are unhappy from halifax service. Ridiculous as they promise fast transfer. Western Union would be there next day and it's much cheaper. It was first and last time I've used it.

Well - here is my honest review:

Halifax are STEALING MONEY - please do not use them.

They charge £9.50 for Europe transfer but it should be free SEPA and their rate are stolen money.

Today: 1GBP=1.12 at Halifax and at citibank (free SEPA Transfer)=1.16;

So this was my first and LAST experience with them. Unbelievable - I can not believe this but I will use them to recoup my money (I HAVE 3 REWARD ACCOUNTS WITH THEM SO I WILL RECOUP MY MONEY).

It was a test but a bad one.

PLEASE DO NOT USE HALIFAX.
