cannot be angrier with this company. They offer the worst rates when compared to similar others. I lost nearly 100 pounds when i exchanged a grand at heathrow airport. the staff is not helpful to help us get he best rates as well.

Ordered money online as they provided the best rate - opted to have it delivered to my WORK ADDRESS. Entered my bank details only to be told my order was "unsuccessful" and that I should contact my bank. My bank told me that the money (all £2400 of it!) had indeed gone through. Phoned Travelex (terrible customer service on the phone) told me that my money had been "ringfenced" as my two addresses did not match i.e. my bank details address and my chosen delivery address and they would not process my order. My money is now sat in a "ringfence" and will be back in my account in 4-5 working days. Trouble is, I go away in 3 working days and am now short of funds before my holiday. Awful awful company. They should have checked the two addresses BEFORE accepting the money. Also I can imagine lots of people out there would opt to have it delivered to a different address to their home address as people work?? NOT worth the (slightly) better exchange rate. Just stick to post office.

Via "Tesco Bank" accepted an order for Icelandic Krona which they were unable to fulfil after about a week of trying. Wouldn't provide a cash refund on the spot, despite the fact they'd be quick enough to buy back your unused currency. Stated they would get a refund out within 10 working days (still too late for our holiday), which they then failed to do, resulting in my having to chase them for it. Net result was that I was out of pocket for approaching 1 month.

Avoid these charlatans, go somewhere you get a: a better rate, and b: the currency you ordered.

Order delivered following day before 1p.m. as stated. Easy to use website. Perhaps not the best rates but their terms and conditions read better than competitors. Very pleased, will use again. So a first class service I would recommend to friends or family.

Apart from spending many hours futilely trying to access the various web sites of Travelex, especially during 'Happy Hour' promotions, achieving nothing but frustration, on my last trip my 'Cash Passport' refused to work on first attempt overseas. Panic! Fortunately I had a spare which I 'limped by' on. However, I have yet to establish why the card ceased to function, despite enquiring at several Travelex branches, home and abroad, who displayed a distinct lack of interest or willingness to help resolve the issue by simply 'passing the buck' elsewhere, with no apparent concern!

I doubt that I will continue our association in future unless I detect a considerable improvement in their despicable service level

Travelex stole my money. I lost over $600Aus when I converted my Japanese Yen to Pounds yesterday in Hong Kong. All I asked for was a cash passport with my Yen loaded on and instead I got my money changed into HK dollars (loosing $300) and then in to Pounds (loosing another $300). I immediately declined and wanted my card cancelled only to be told it was too late.

The cashier rushed me and never gave me any details. She kept saying "no commission, no commission" and "this is a commercial rate so it's what happens when you buy and sell money".

I am outraged and I want everyone to know about this fraudster company. I hope Travelex goes bankrupt.

Not a trustworthy business. They are the currency exchange equivalent of payday loans. Transaction fees and conversion rates are unreasonable. Poor customer service. Unreliable advice. I will never conduct another transaction in this or any Travelex store, online or telephone. Calling the help line provided no resolution. They are good at bait and switch. Buyer beware when dealing with this business.

I ordered US Dollars online taking advantage of the 'collect after 4 hrs thing' they've got on their website. Oh what a terrible mistake I made. At the end of the application I understood there was a problem , and the transaction was unsuccessful. So I opted to pay on collection at Heathrow T4. When I got there the money was ready, so I used my debit to pay. I was shocked when it got declined. Panicking, as I was just 2hrs from boarding the plane, I called the Bank. The bank gave me an authorisation code as the funds have been released and Travelex have accepted the money. I went back to their desk and I couldn't believe how unconcerned those girls were even after explaining to them that I was just about to travel abroad and I had no money and literally no any other financial means on me.I asked them if could speak to somebody and they said there was nobody there apart from them. Eventually they gave me the phone to talk to Customer Care. The guy said they would have to drop the money back into my account... Wait for it... After 10 working days! The duration of my holiday is 10days! I tried to explain to them the urgency of my situation but it all fell into deaf ears. I boarded the plain thinking this is just a bad dream and I'll soon wake up, but sadly I never did. I arrived at my destination with no money, missed the date of my surgery because I had no money to pay for it. I'm stuck at the airport as we speak as I expected to spend a few days at the hospital after my surgery. I've called them countless times every time I speak to a different person and they all tell me the same story. I've spent the few pounds I had on me calling their premium line from abroad! Haven't eaten properly and slept properly for days. These people are quite evil as they have shown no empathic feelings to another human being. I hope nobody ever treat them or their family there way they have treated me, because I think it's disgraceful ! Will never use them again!

Pre-ordered Saudi currency on line a few days before picking up at Heathrow T4. Used a Visa debit card to avoid fees.

Good rate (would have been 10% worse doing the deal on the day at T4 so beware!). They kindly broke the two 500 SAR notes into 100s.

Travelex worked out well for me!

charged 4.95 on bill , no mention of it on the "important details page ", another company exploiting small print T&C's
