My biggest mistake was i trusted the above companies who persuaded me to take out PPI because i was a HGV driver and the sole earner and had a wife and four young children to support. I had never suffered from illhealth and had lived in our own home for twelve years. When i then came off work with a debilatating illnesss the insurance decided to make payments for two years. Stirling credit would not talk to us and took our home from us. I do not know what i did to deserve this ,twelve years on i am still registered disabled and have been unable to work since. My wife suffers from panic attacks and we both suffer from depression. We were told if anything happened to me the loan would be paid off. We never missed any payments , paid as much as we could till we went to court and are still making payments till this day . These have been rejected since the ombudsman got involved three years ago.Why did my insurance not keep its word? Why are my payments rejected?

Just to update up my review. Well after four and a half years we have been defeated , the ombudsman have said our case can not be considered any further, our case is too old and they cannot make a connection between HFS Loans Ltd, Sterling Credit Ltd and Hamilton Insurance Company. Each party seems to be shifting the blame and not taking responsibility for the mis-sold insurance.

Have Been Trying To Find Out The Relationship Of H
Have been trying to find out the relationship of HFC to Hamilton Insurance ltd, even though our loan a few yeasrs ago was set up by a broker Click Finance that dissolved in recent years, we recall on being passed on to HFC in regards of the PPI, this was before the loan was paid out.
It was mis sold, and when getting in touch with Hamilton for more details as suggested by the ombudsman service, we have so far been passed on to one to another, such as to Aviva who apparently deal with Hamilton to Direct Insurance then back to beginning again, yet we found some Customer Speaks forms that were completed separately at the time of the sale of the loan which has the logo on it from HFC.
So does anyone know the relationship of HFC to Hamilton? Thanks

Truly appalling experience- made redendant from job that i took cover for ( £57 per month taken) only to be informed that a small part time job self employed negated my policy.

My Recommendation Would Be To Get Your Insurance W
My recommendation would be to get your insurance with another company. I had a genuinely legitimate claim and they are, eventually, paying out. However, they have tried, and continue to try, every possible way they can to wriggle out of things. Quite simply, I don't think they are reputable and you could find a much better company for your insurance.

I Took Out This Policy As I Was Working In The Ban
I took out this policy as I was working in the Banking industry, there were no planned redundancies but I wanted a safeguard. After the agreed deferrment period Hamilton paid out for 9 months. The service I received was second to none. I was distressed about being made redundant and Hamilton took all that away. 10/10 from me. Thank you

I Must Disagree With Those Here. I Had An Income P
I must disagree with those here. I had an income protection/unemployment policy open for only 2 months before making a claim. They honoured it and paid out on time. The amount was close to their £2000 PCM limit. Given my premiums of £30 and the short time I had the policy I was sure they wouldnt pay out.
I have no complaints. Thanks Hamilton!!

I Agree With The Delay Tactics That Other Reveiwer
I agree with the delay tactics that other reveiwers have commented on. I had to wait to get any payment for my unemployment insurance, I provided them with all details, they claimed my previous employer was causing a delay in responding however I checked this out and they had already sent the information! The only way I got a result was by calling them on a dailing basis and paying out to get any documents by registered post.
Really Poor service and distressing when you are waiting to pay your Mortgage.

I Was Made Redundent In April 2010 And Have
I was made redundent in April 2010 and have attempted to activate my Income protection policiy.They have used delaying tactics and excuses to avoid paying,including a claim that a business is being run from my address.
I have been paying £60.00 a month into this this policy for over 5 years and have never claimed before.I shall take them to the C.A.B and the Insurance Ombudsman and 'Which'publication which I subscribe to.
I am a Marketing specialist by trade so I will raise the profile of my claim to the highest places including 'Watch Dog' if neccassary!

After Reading The Reviews On Hamilton Insurance I
After reading the reviews on Hamilton Insurance I am not feeling very optimistic about the claim against them I am about to make for a mis-sold PPI. I am determined to go ahead with the claim in spite of the negative reviews and glad that I read them. I am not in a hurry,I have been paying the insurance for nearly 5 years now, even though this was through a third party and was based on a loan with another company, I did not have any choice in who the insurance was with. I will write another review when I have some feedback.

When I Became Unemployed I Got Messed Around From
when i became unemployed i got messed around from hamilton insurance so much,i was ringing them,writing to them,every letter i sent them was a recorded delivery still had no luck with them paying me out,i fell back on all my bills,morgatge and everything else,i did'nt know what else to do,until i went to the C.A.B. and they wrote a letter to them, then they finally paid out.I cannot thank the C.A.B. enough they really helped me out.so just be carefull next time you take a policy out.
