Don't Use This Insurance!

Pay a premium and get your claim lost.....yes, completely gone! No claim against the idiot who hit me, no help to get my damaged car back on the road.

Seriously unsafe insurance.... not worth 1p for the policy let alone what I paid.

No Hassle

Was with eCarInsurance for a year (one car, two named drivers). We had TPT cover, not had to claim - so cannot comment on that. However in the end of the year there was some confusion as to who was the policyholder and who earned NCD. One email to customer services sorted it out and NCD was issued to the second driver's name as requested. What more could we ask for?

Also, had to change the car half-way through the year, this was no hassle - all could be done online with an instant quote. I don't think we even had to pay for the change, and even we did - it was very little. No waiting on the phone and very convenient.

We did have to email a few scanned documents in the beginning to validate the insurance (driving license, NCD). But this too could all be done online, which I personally prefer and did not find it too much trouble.

All in all an excellent experience for those who don't need all the bells and whistles - just a cover so you can take your car on the road legally.

I Used This Company About 5 Years Ago (or At Least

I used this company about 5 years ago (or at least tried to) and suffered the same misery as many others have reported.

Their basic method is:

- return a very attractive quote on a certain 'supermarket' site.

- Issue the policy on condition that they receive certain documentation within 14 days or the policy will be cancelled with no refund.

- Never acknowledge the receipt of the required documentation forcing you to call a premium rate phone number.

- At the 11th hour they contact you to say they haven't received it and the policy will be cancelled etc etc.

- Take your money, cancel the policy and leave you uninsured.

Fortunately thanks to sites like this I was able to see what was going on and about to be left uninsured I canceled it myself just in time and took a policy with a more honest provider.

Then followed the saga of trying to get my initial payment back which happened only after I lodged a complaint with the FSA (no doubt one of many), I was eventually reimbursed 3 months later.

I believe the company is still trading under a new name these days so hopefully their practices have changed, if not you have been warned!

I  Find It Incredible To See They Are Still Up To

I  find it incredible to see they are still up to their old tricks, I watched “Rip Off Britain” this morning 30/10/15 on BBC 1 and would advise anyone who missed it to watch it on BBC Iplayer, it shows ecar/ebike up for what they really are I would strongly advise anyone thinking off using them not to, ecar, ebike they are all the same company but be aware they have or are changing their name to Brightside Insurance, I wonder why, any really positive reviews on here are in my opinion very suspicious and I would love to see the i.p. addresses and see how many times the same address comes up, if you take my advise you should stay well clear of them or it may cost you dearly.

Absolutely Avoid This Company At All Costs!

Ecar/Brightside/Zeneth,

Firstly you never know who your talking to when making a claim, i was 6 companys down the line by the time i got to speak to a garage. Then i was told a whole host of different things that eventually took 7 months to get my car fixed THEN they decided to cancel my insurance policy as i had moved and they diddnt insure in that area.......ok so i moved back to my parents same area i was in before and low and behold after requesting a utility bill they cancel my insurance once again. So now i ask them if an actual utility bill dosent count as a utility bill what does?? Bank statement, fine.....so after leaving my break early i go into the bank get the requested statement send it in and yes youve guessed it thats now not accepted, so its hours on the phone ecar blaming Zenith etc......we finally get to you need the banks stamp on the statements so they are sent in, then the photo isnt big enough, so in that goes. So am i insured as ive done everything you requested.......we will lwt you know as its Zenith who decide......i call Zenith.....ecar write their own policies so you need to call them........AVOID LET THEM GO OUT OF BUSINESS!! 1 STAR IS BEING KIND!

What The Fu Ck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CAR INSURANCE IS ALL SET UP AND YOUR INSURED....MORE LIKE BULLS HIT YOU GOT MY MONEY AND SCREWED ME OVER FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 18 MONTHS

I was insured with them on my last Vectra and they cancelled policy after 5 months and charged me £126 for the pleasure of cancellation, I wasnt happy and thought it was a 1 off mistake anyway sold my car that was back in june. Bought another car on 2nd september so I paid deposit Oof nearly £150 for new policy on 2nd september to start on the 3rd which was the day i picked My new Vectra EDITION 100 up and was told next payment 28th of this month. Anyway I was informed last night by a freindly policman I had no insurance they cancelled my policy on the 14th september, they have had my license and 9 years ncb for the last 2 years and next payment isnt due till 28th of this month so im proper PIZZED off they even sent me an email saying they had recieved my emailed documentation and if there was any problems i would here from them in 7 days, I heard FECK ALL and next day they cancell policy, try to contact them and no CUN T there to answer the phones at customer service so i tried on the make a claim number and was answered by a machine and sat on hold for an hour and 10 minutes so put phone down, then phoned the number to get a buy a policy from a quote and they answered straight away but couldnt deal with my issue it as its not there FECK IN department........FUMING!!!!! fuming!!!!!!!!!!

TRADING STANDARDS WILL BE INFORMED ON MONDAY. I HAVE DONE SOME SEARCHING IN THE LAST FEW HOURS AND THEY ARE HAVING SOME MAJOR CHANGES AND HIDING BEHIND A FIRM CALLED BRIGHTSIDE WHO ARE BASED IN BRISTOL

I bought a new car and wanted to transfer the existing insurance to the new car . It was impossible to get anyone on the phone and finally had to get a new insurance for the new car. Another week passed before i finally got someone on the phone to cancel the insurance only to be told that I will be charged cancellation fees and and and no appologies no help.

Stay clear of this company if you have a problem there is noone to talk to unless you can hold for a week. Disgustededly me D.

I have tried to contact ecarinsurance since last friday, I need to make changes and just cannot get through to them. I have tried every possible way of contacting them. every day I have been on hold for over one hour sometimes its been 1 hour 40 minutes and today I have tried 8 times and still not got through. You cannot get through to website re emails, complaints as the page either has a problem or will not load due to not existing.

They should not be allowed to TRADE....Any suggestions apart from cancelling payment??

Beware! Avoid!

I wish I had read these reviews before paying ecarinsurance. Something needs to be done about them! My story is similar to many on here: we have not received proof of no claims bonus and need to cancel policy. I had emails telling me they had not received evidence during the time frame, even though I had sent all 3 requested documents 3 times to 3 different emails listed on the website!

There are far too many similar stories for this not to be an elaborate fraudulent operation. I think we should use collective force to fight them together!

I agree. I have a similar experience and recieved a letter stating that they had not recieved my docs. I have e-mailed and tried to contact them by phone but due to being on hold for so long the battery on my phone went dead! Dont always go with thecheapest quote and make sure you send docs recorded delivery.

Can anybody help?
