I Made A Claim For Bad Knee Pain, I Saw The Gp And

I made a claim for bad knee pain, I saw the GP and orthopaedic consultant for the 1st time, within a month of the continuous pain. Had an MRI, showed the cause of pain was a bone sticking out. Freedom refused to cover the claim, stating it was pre-existing. They said the knee pain was a pre-existing, as I complained to my GP of knee, wrist, fingers and ankle pain, just under 5 years ago, shortly after pregnancy, where I gained 5.5 stone. It’s a well known fact that women get pain in their joints around pregnancy, due to hormones and weight gain. Freedom would not cover my claim.

They also claim to cover HCA hospitals in their Elite plan, but then make the process extremely difficult if you try to use them.

Only have 1 manager who works part-time. Other staff can’t deal with query.

Cancel procedures the day before, and on the day that they are planned for.

They will do anything in their power to not pay out for procedures.

Will Give No Star If There Is The Option, avoid!

With this company over two years and never ever had an successful claim.

When you call them and you will soon figure out that it is a tiny company which very good at using phone call transferring system.

When I switch to another large insurance company and find out they are so overcharged.

AVOID!AVOID!AVOID!

They Take Months To Pay Out. Nothing But Excuses And Delays

Freedom take far too long to pay out.

The treatment and fees are agreed. Freedom then delay payment for as long as possible with excuses and delaying tactics. Left me over £5,000 out of pocket for months.

Avoid Avoid

Automatically renew their policy and slap huge increases ontop of it. Best of luck reclaiming your money.

A shocking company that overcharges for so little service. Barely legal.

Freedom Elite

I have been with Freedom for a number of years and fortunate enough not to have had to claim until the last month.

Upon claiming I did not have to speak to a person in another continent, I got my own designated handler and the whole experiance was somewhat of a breeze.

I called in and got authorised over the phone to see a consultant unlike other providers I have been with who insisted on me getting forms signed by my doctor, gettting him to send them the notes then getting authorised which can take weeks to sort out.

I saw the specialist and had to go for a minor operation all of which Freedom paid directly to the hospital I used within a week or so.

Thank you Freedom Elite for making me believe in insurance again.

I Had A Policy With Freedom For About 18 Months A

I had a policy with Freedom for about 18 months and eventually managed to cancel my policy with them due to the bad customer service and refusal to settle valid claims. I had a moratorium period for an existing condition. On 2 occassions I submitted a claim for conditions totally unrelated to the pre-exisiting condition the moratorium referred to but Freedom refused to settle the claim. The excuse on each ocassion was that the claim may be indirectly related to the pre-existing one. My GP advised them that this was not the case but Freedom still insisted that unless there was conclusive proof (using the 'your knee bone is connected to your thigh bone so a problem with your eyes could be connected'approach)that there was no possible link then no claims would be covered. It was utterly ridiculous but I ran out of steam to fight them so cancelled my policy. Basically if yo live in a body and that body has ever had an illness, then any condition that same body experiences is a 'pre-existing condition' If you live in a body do not take out Freedom Policy.

Hi. I just read your review and now I'm a little disturbed. I spoke with a representative from Freedom this morning and agreed to sign up after he gave me his wonderful description of the policy.. i.e., no co-pay, no deductible, yada, yada, yada.. At which I said, "This sounds way too good to be true". But, he eased my mind again by telling me about their wonderful reputation through the BBB, how long they had successfully been in business and how solid they were. I don't necessarily put stock in the Better Business Bureau, I know there are some crappy businesses out there with good BBB ratings. But all the other things he told me sounded great so I said, "Sign me up". I guess I want it all to be true so I bit the hook. I stopped paying my outrageous premiums with BCBS when Obamacare kicked in because my policy became ridiculous and impossible to pay the high deductible and out of pocket costs. I don't have a pre existing condition, that might help with this new policy with Freedom. Someone is going to call me with info and more questions for me this afternoon. Anyway, sorry to babble but I'd like to know if you've found a good company since you left Freedom and if are you satisfied with it. If so, what is it? Thank you for your time.

Having Taken Freedom Healthnet To An Fos Complaint

Having taken Freedom Healthnet to an FOS complaint for a licensed drug and had it upheld they are now with holding payment for the subsequent operation on the basis that they need to check that the procedure was actually carried out - this is not in their policy as they are committed to payout on completion of the form completed by the consultant/surgeon on the information provided and accepted by them (all done)I had accepted that there would probably be a shortfall but that was aways my choice when I took out the policy, but I did not expect a huge delay or querying of this nature - it's 3 weeks now and no payment, op has gone ahead and no news from Freedom, except to say that they are finding out if the procedures went ahead.

I don't want to be doing a 'hatchet job' on Freedom as they have met (late payers) the chemo costs but with massive querying to the hospital (which really irritated them), it's all a great big hastle at a time when you least can deal with it.

To be fair it is probably ok for minor ailments - but of course you don't know what you will need to claim for when the moment comes.

The upgrade plus policy was not available when we took out our policies - or we would have had that - £100,000 does not go far for a cancer claim so be warned.

Is this company (Freedom) greedy by raising their prices for 2017?

ozella

I was scheduled for Bilateral knee surgery this month and now I am told I cannot go into the hospital in order to have rehab since I live alone. Has anyone else had this problem?
