If You Think 1700 Buys Piece Of Mind

Having had insurance for thirty years I joined this GENERAL AND MEDICAL last year.

Recently I had cause to contact them regarding a prostate investigation. It was turned down though I have to say, fair enough, I hadn't studied the small print of the Moritorium agreement. I advise all who do this to study carefully as it is very nearly a complete get out clause.

That said dealing with the company certainly didn't t bring the piece of mind I hoped £1700.00 pa would bring.

I should have known from the introductory 'brochure'..a laser printed job , hand stapled and obviously cobbled together in the

office.

My claim took a full ten days despite my badgering and included a demand for my full medical history from birth! 600 A4 pages...such an onerous task for the surgery (for which they get the measly sum of £50.00) that I spent an evening on the office photocopier helping them and to move things along.

As for contact, there was not the least care or sympathy shown. Each time I spoke to my contact it was as if it was the first time I'd ever phoned. Then when I wrote a measured email pointing this out I had a dry reply more akin to a reply from the civil service.

Therefore if you want trials and tribulation I'd recommend the shameful company. For peace of mind go elsewhere

They Are Cheap For A Reason

I joined them 4 years ago to be on the safe side, I'm a healthy, fit, mid 20's male with no existing conditions.

6 months ago I injured my wrist, I went through the usual procedure of the GP first, then getting referred, finding a physiotherapist etc. I had the claim approved for treatment (which took 6 weeks from date of injury, by which time it had almost healed) I started treatment, only 2-3 sessions as it had already healed for the most part but the physio had done mostly rehab.

2 months ago I seriously injured my back playing sport, I went to my GP who recommended I see a specialist, I did so and put a claim in to General And Medical , I did not wait this time for confirmation as I needed treatment urgently. I underwent intense physiotherapy and rehab to get me back on my feet, I also had an MRI scan to make sure no serious damage was done, 4 weeks later General and Medical finally got back to me to say the claim had been denied owing to and Xray I had had done on my back 5 years previously at the request of my then GP. The incidents were in no way related but the claim was denied!

Customer support are no use and the claims process is archaic, I would not recommend them at all as they will find any, and I do mean any reason to slow down the claim until you give up or just deny it.
