Do Not Touch With A Barge Pole!
First claim in 10 years! Attempted break-in (3 men), Police on scene who provided report, completely smashed double glazed window & damaged frame & front door with crow bar but never got in. Damage was major though. Allianz asked for 1 quote but had no intention of using it! They lied to us all the way through the process. Waited 3 weeks for them to send an "assessor" to "verify attempted break in and damage to OK the claim"! The "Assessor" was a small window company in Wales who were not FENSA registered and who told us they always did the "insurance jobs" for Allianz and they had been instructed to supply a replace and "repair only" quote! They said they were not "assessors" and themselves confused! They said the damage was such that they would recommend to Allianz the window and door should be replaced as they could not guarantee security of the repair, but Allianz always decided on the repair only quote as it was cheaper! This company said the damage to the hinges on the door which had been crowbarred could be "smacked flat with a hammer"!!! Complete mickey mouse bodgers! As the house was not safe, the company who originally fitted our double glazing kindly boarded up the window with secure glass for peace of mind that my daughter and I were safe in the house - they did this FOR FREE. Allianz did not care! After 3 months, continued to argue that it could be repaired. We had 3 companies who confirmed that the house would NOT be secure if it was repaired and our FENSA Certificate would be void if it the window and door was not replaced! Allianz said they had never heard of FENSA Certificates and had to look into it and get back to us!!!!! After weeks of waiting, Allianz finally said they would replace the window but only with a white framed window (our entire house is dark rosewood framed) so it would not match the rest of the house!!! I then found out that the company from Wales that they insisted on using was not FENSA registered and on telling them this, and waiting for many weeks again, they finally accepted our quote! They then said they would pay out but sat on it again for weeks. After countless frustrating calls, I complained to them that our house was not secure, had not been for months and was absolutely disgusted that they were happy for my daughter and I to sleep in an unsecure house and that if the burglars decided to return and actually managed to get in next time due to the incompetency of Allianz, I would sue and their reputation would be in tatters if we were badly hurt! Following this call, I received a cheque 3 days later! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with this company. Clearly did not care about our safety and tried EVERYTHING to get out of paying.

Don't Waste Your Money!
After storm Katie -- the wind speed caused multiple damage to our property. When trying to claim, the insisted the wind speed was <32 mph. There were fallen trees nearby that were mature -- wind would need to be > 100 mph at least.
Their entire claims apparatus is designed to push back on any claim and find a reason not to pay. They are not a customer centric organisation and you are well advised to find another insurer or self insure. Just because you have insurance doesn't mean that you can use it... Think it though before wasting your money with these idiots.

You're On Your Own
The first time I've ever had to claim, or try and claim, from a car insurance company, they are completely unhelpful, my claim has been outstanding nearly 3 months, and each time I call for an update I'm advised it is with the other insurer and they will not chase for 14 days, I am stuck in an endless circle and Allianz could not care less about me. I have already left them as a customer and I will never consider them again.
Do Not Insure With Allianz

Waste Of Time!!
I came home from work on 10th July 2013 to a disaster scene - a burst water pipe in my loft had virtually destroyed my Council House, furniture & nearly all personal belongings, which I had insured with Allianz through Aberdeen City Council. Unfortunately, I was going on holiday the following day, and on the way to a stopover in Edinburgh before travelling to Newcastle airport then on to Turkey, I was on the phone to Allianz who were unwilling to even talk to me never mind help me as I could not provide a policy number (all my paperwork was mush, surprisingly) I eventually got this from ACC but again, no help from Allianz as I had not completed a claim form. This had to wait until my return from holiday, house took over a month to dry out with dehumidifiers in every room. On reading through the policy booklet from Allianz I noticed there was absolutely nothing relating to Council Tenants, all information was for homeowners. Loss Adjusters were appointed, came to look at the damage and then nothing for 6 weeks despite phone calls, e-mails asking for the forms I was promised to list the damaged items. ACC were brilliant, I had new ceilings, walls & brand new kitchen fitted fairly quickly considering the damage to every room and I was given alternative temporary accommodation from ACC (despite being told by Allianz Complaints Dept.in November 2013 that they would rehouse me for the duration of the rest of the repairs (which amounted to 5 internal doors, 2 bedroom cupboard doors, facings & skirtings that I had done just before the flood) but were unable to find suitable accommodation for the 8 weeks they estimated this joinery work to take. This work did not start until March 2014 and did not finish until August 2014 because of really shoddy workmanship and to date, I have not had my front door key returned to me so am battling to have my locks changed at their cost and also to be compensated financially by Allianz for the extra rent I had to pay for the temporary accommodation over the 8 week period stated to me. This has been dealt with by Allianz, who considered it a "minor delay" and I was offered 2 cheques amounting to £150 - the £50 one was unable to be cashed and I do not think £100 covers the inconvenience I endured. They also have a bizarre way of replacing items - all my electrical items have to be sourced by a separate company and I have to go through pictures of these items to see if I want them or not - can Allianz not give me a card for Currys or wherever so I can get the stuff myself ? see why I should take days off work to wait in for a kettle or a toaster to be delivered! I received a voucher in October 2013 to purchase new wood flooring, carpets & vinyl - the voucher expired Christmas Eve 2013, way before the house was ready for flooring and this is still being stored at the shop I ordered it from! The Ombudsman has also been informed and I received their final reply today telling me that they do not feel that I have been treated unfairly and again said that in cases such as mine "minor delays" have to be expected. Now, nearly 22 months on, I am still not living at home because I lost interest in it for a while, but things are moving along now as regards decoration etc. and I am hoping to be in before the 2 year anniversary! My daughter announced she was pregnant in May 2013 - my granddaughter celebrated her 1st birthday on Christmas Day 2014 and has never been in Grammas house yet! Shambles of a company along with their associates and contractors.

Abject Customer Services
The most disgraceful customer services I have ever experienced in my life!
I do not write reviews but have been forced into action. The company is not interested in helping people. I pity anyone who is trying to make a claim through them. I reported the loss of my wife's watch on 5th of November 14. On numerous occasions I was told the information we needed to supply would be emailed to us. This never happened. I have lost count the number of times I have had to call the company to find out an update.
Once we finally obtained the necessary details required to make the claim, I emailed the company on 22nd of November. As per usual I had no reply. I called the company again on the 5th of December to find out what had happened. I was assured the claims handling team would call back within 24 hrs. Total silence!! I called again and was promised the claim’s handler, Leanne would call me back. I received a call from Leanne before Christmas stating that I would require a receipt from the jeweller I bought the watch from with a photograph with her wearing it.
This information was emailed through to her on Jan 2nd 2015. I called back on the 7th of Jan and was told that the claim was only put on to the system on the 5th and I would have to wait up to 7 working days before Leanne calls me back.
7 working days came and went, when I called on the 15th I was told the claims handler had gone home for the day and she’d be in touch the next day. No such call occurred; when I called back I was told she was on her lunch.
I have a theory that they are trying to drag this out until my policy expires or I die of old age.
I totally agree, I came home to a flooded house on December 30th a pipe in my heating sprang a leak i came home to alot of damage , I got in touch with the insurance company and all they care about is the things they are not going to pay for , they are not there to help at all , it is now the 18th of march the insurance adjuster has been up but that has been it am still not any further ahead , there logo should be , if anyway we can screw you we will ,

Stay Away From Alliaz!
Absolute joke of a company. I had a bedroom painted and a new floor put down about two years ago and in the last few months I noticed a load of damp on one corner of the wall which destroyed the curtains and blinds. This was due to dampness getting in from the outside wall, the old walls not been dry lined and small holes from the old cast iron down pipes when the house was first built back 30years ago. Got a builder to have a look, was only a small job for a around 500euros and they rejected the claim saying "this was due to wear and tear of the house", they also said that the photos I sent them were "too good" and it looked like the damp had been going on for years, This hadn't cos my brother was sleeping in that room. Been with them for nearly ten years and never once made a claim, along with paying them nearly 100euro a month. They wouldn't even send out someone to look at the problem in person so instead they got me to send them photos so they could ring me up and reject me over the phone and cant say no to me in person. Total farce of a set up they have that they are too afraid to reject you in person, it's like dumping your ex via text message. I've changed my insurance to a better company and they've helped me out. STAY AWAY FROM ALLIAZ, unless you like throwing your money away!
