Unfit For Purpose

Completely unfit for purpose & a waste of money. My mother (in her 70s) has spent over £400+ per year on these people who basically did nothing in the one claim she attempted to make with them. Offered absolutely no help whatsoever with guttering that fell across her front door because she had the "wrong type of rain" when the guttering fell, leaving her completely vulnerable. Complete waste of money and very unethical practices. Avoid.

Water Damage

My mum unfortunately had a flood from a valve that blew off a pipe in her attic the water came down into two bedrooms and the bathroom, they sent round someone from a company called independent assessors he said there wasn’t anything to worry about and it would dry out, after many weeks and several phone calls from my Mum who is 84 and has a husband with dementia who is 87 they sent someone who dismantled the whole bathroom and all fitted furniture in the bedrooms, there was now mould growing. My Dad has carers coming in to shower him he wasn’t able to be showered as the bathroom was unusable. My Dad had to be taken into a care home as it was impossible for him to be cared for at home with no bathroom facilities. After 4 MONTHS and dehumidifiers eventually the work was completed unfortunately my Dad is still in a care home and my Mum cannot visit because of COVID so thank you Covea insurance hope you are proud of yourselves. They sent a bunch of flowers to apologize big deal.

Terrible Customer Service Customer Care

I’m very stressed, very dissatisfied and extremely annoyed at how I have been treated, from the start of my claim I was made to feel like a 2nd class, like I was begging. I have or at least had planned for then expected by having mortgage protection insurance with this company.

The first call to them I spoke to an adviser who though he could and would speak to you as if he was the gate keeper, he made me feel like I was in the wrong for attempting to make a claim.

From there it has gone down hill, from my claims manager to any of the advisers, Yes I will admit I’m very short and to the point with them when I call but they have done nothing to make me feel any different towards them.

Mortgage protection should be instant not having to wait weeks, now becoming months, I started the claim early December and I’m still only at the first gate.

When initially taking the insurance I was never asked for medical records etc, now I’m told they have to check my health first, What the hell does a twisted knee have to do with previous health, if it has only just happened??

I’m now so close to disregarding my doctor and contemplating going back work on a damaged knee just so I can pay my mortgage. Two payments now have had to be covered by credit cards.

I explained this to my so called case manager, she sounds like she really does not care, neither do the advisers, I’m now stressed, not sleeping, arguments in the home constantly.

They correspond via snail mail 2nd class mail, apparently they don’t have e-mail addresses to send correspondence. Which company in today’s times does not have e-mail for corresponding?

Three times I sent my paperwork in twice they lost it?

I’m looking to get the ombudsman involved, avoid these if possible, the only reason why I used them was my financial adviser set up the policy. Shop around check reviews, I’m pretty sure most of the good reviews on here are fake.

Terrible customer service, terrible customer care, slow, inefficient.

we all have to be very careful while trying to make money online,you too can recover all you have lost,all you need to know is the kind of fund you want to recover. And you need to know not all funds can be recovered depending on time and the value of the funds. Claim For Building Insurance

This is the worst Insurance Company that I have come upon and would never recommend them to my worst emery let alone my friends. Had I known about the negative and incompetent attitude I would be experiencing when making a claim I would have never ever considered in insuring my house building with them.

Basically, I recently had to put in a claim for water damage that occurred to our outside wall and our inside bedroom wall and ceiling as the water had seeped through the chimney.

After reporting the claim, their Customer service representative placed it as Storm Damage as they did not have any other means that they could put. To my cost, I later realised that this was their 'Get out of Jail' card in not paying out under the claim.

Despite the Independent Asser saying that she will recommend/confirm that I had a valid claim as I had 'Accidental cover' to the Insurance Company in respect of the damage to the inside bedroom wall and ceiling. This was however rejected by Convea Insurance as they decided to use their Get of Jail card of Storm Damage. They insisted that the damage caused to the inside wall/ceiling was due to continuous water seeping into the walls trough the chimney and not a one off storm incident, which the Insurance only covers. This is despite their own independent Asser advising that the claim was valid.

Furthermore, when I asked for a copy of the Asser's report, despite assuring me that they will email it to me, they have so far not done so.

The bottom line is never ever consider taking any Insurance cover from this Company. They are just a bunch of people  who on the face of seem fine, but deep down they are the worst public company that I have ever dealt with

Worst Insurers Ever!

Unbelievably appalling service I received after severe damage to my home following an incident. They didn't respond to any of my questions but expected me to answer theirs. They wouldn't pay out. NEVER EVER use this company - they are totally incompetent & unprofessional.

I Believe Their Actions Are Fraudulent!!!!!

Our bedroom ceiling came in and we rang the AA who directed us to Covea. They sent a surveyor round who did not even look at the damage to the roof, he just stated they would never pay up and it was not worth paying for this home insurance product. We had our own survey and they said it was storm damage, but Covea do not care, they will not pay out. I am now seeking advice from the Financial Ombudsman Service.

I am not sure if it is lawful to have an opinion without looking at the damage!!!!!

I have water damage from a neighbour above so I am going to claim their home insurance, but Covea said I have to claim my insurance instead as they may not get their money back. What should I do?
