Do Not Go There

Oven was cutting out, already had engineer out 18 months ago, after taking two days off work, first visit he never turned up but said he did at 7.30. No way, second scheduled visit, engineer said he could not get oven out of housing. So therefore D and M suggested I pay for an engineer to get it out then they would send their engineer. Complete and utter shambles. Never again, cancelled all my policies with them. Do not go there!!

Customer Service Is A Misnomer!

I tried to amend two direct debits online. One was apparently successful but no changes were shown while the other refused access to the plan. I tried their hassle free contact form -their words - and it was unsuccesful and I was informed that I should contact a specified telephone number. After waiting in excess of ten minutes, and frequently told it shouldn't be long now I gave up and thought I should try the contact form again. I completed the form and sent it but there was no evidence it was received so did the same thing again and was once more advised to telephone. After a long wait I gave up. I have written to the Chairman about this appalling service and if I don't get some reasonable response I will cancel the direct debits and assume they will contact me very promptly. If there were alternatives to this insurance cover I would change asap.

D&g Breakdown Cover

I have attempted to contact the repair centre with the number provided - 3 days later I managed to book an appointment for the following week.

I did not receive a confirmation email or text so I am not sure whether anybody will turn up!!!

Rubbish service!!!!

Appliance Protection Plan - At Your Peril

Apalling do not waste your money.

Have had washing machine protection for 11 years. The appliance has broken down on countless occasions during this time. The latest breakdown now requires a total rebuild.

Rang D&G and was advised to speak with the Resolutions Team. I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Was informed that as the machine could be re-built they would not allow for a new machine.

Engineer told me that they put in reconditioned parts too.

Despite a clause on my policy which states "If a repair is approved, we may (at our option) decide to replace your equipment with new equipment of the same or similar make and specification.

Will never take appliance Protection out again. We could have bought several new machines over the amount of money we have put into this policy.

Money grabbing, appaling customer service.

No wonder the Insurance industry has such a terrible reputation. Duly earned by Domestic & General.

we have used this for many years. Our current washing machine has been repaired 7 times, including the repairman spending 2 entire days rebuilding most of it last year despite his recommendation to D&G that it needs to be replaced. It has broken twice since then. The cover includes replacement when appropriate but their policy is to always fix if a replacement part can be found. We have had not entirely compatible electronic bits replaced whcih limit the programmes available but mainly we want a replacement machine now as we can't wait weeks without a washing machine this often. The resolution committee have not let us know yet whether they will replace or repair. Meanwhile we enter 2nd week with no prospect of a useable machine. The worst part is trying to get though to the right person on the phone-prepare to spend literally hours on hold.

Waiting Over 38 Days For A Repair To Washing Machine!

I've been waiting for my washing machine to be repaired for 38 days!!! I've been fobbed off, 3 letters ignored and was actually told by a resolutions manager "I just have to wait"??? Easier said than done with 3 children under 5. Disgraceful customer service, completely incompetant staff! I'm cancelling all my policies with them! Jokers!!

Contract Broken

I took out and extended warranty plan and paid and initial £60 then £13.50 per month for 11 months thinking my appliance would be covered for any repair and I would get prompt action. I booked a repair as the door to my washer/dryer was not closing properly and they said they could not come and repair it before 10 days as they over overbooked. I then had to buy a new machine as my tenant could not wait that long without washing clothes which made me cancel the policy. They have informed me I will need to make the final payment before it is cancelled, even thought THEY have defaulted on our contract. Their contract states that it will be repaired in 5 days and this was not done. NOT IMPRESSED. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY it's a ripoff.

Excellent Service !

I am really happy with the service I received from D&G, my machine broke, the engineer came out 3 days later ( due to me working) the machine was a right off. The next day I received a text telling me they would replace the machine and that a customer service advisor would call me by the end of the day. I then received a call from a very nice man explaining to me that a new machine would be delivered and all I had to pay was the delivery charge as it was coming from appliances online. My machine arrived at 8:15am this morning. All in all 2 weeks without a machine , but now have a brand new replacement. I cannot fault D&G or their customer service advisors. Very happy customer.
