Just tried to renew my travel insurance with Atlas as realised haven't had a reminder from them ! Now I know why! My problem is I have been with them for years so don't know who to use now!

I had a annual cover with atlas direct I needed to renew my policy so I thought I ring them but I was so surprise there is no one on other side they only take your money on line but if you have to contact them there is no one to talk to but answer phone when I tried to leave voice message it says mail box is full . I’m wondering if they really exist .

Just Found Out

I have an annual travel insurance with Atlas till May 2018. I have been trying to get a quote for my renewal. However I have just found out that they dissolved in August 2017 which we did not know about. I went on holiday in November and December 2017 unaware I was travelling without insurance. Luckily they were trouble free and no claims needed to be made.

The least they could have done was inform customers.

We paid for an annual policy in July 2017 to start 25th August 2017 as we had cover up to that date. We went on holiday in September and October thinking we were covered but have now found out about them being dissolved in August before our cover started. Luckily we were trouble free too but are angry that our money was taken and we have had nothing for it.

Company Dissolved !!!

Checked Companies House register on gov.uk website. They were dissolved on 15th AUgust 2017. I will now be checking with the FInancial Services Authority to find out what happens when an insurance company goes bust and whether the annual travel policy I bought in May is now null and void.

I would recommend anyone else with an annual policy checks before travelling again.

I have annual policy platanium until March 2018, I also went on holiday in October and went to a medical centre with a virus and had treatment for 2 days and no-one at the centre said anything about it been dissolved. I've tried calling them but no answer goes to answer phone. Have you been in touch with anyone about your losses. Regards

Dreadful!

After receiving news that you are unable to go on holiday & your life is turned upside down due to necessary treatment, you certainly do not need the additional stress Atlas Direct put on to us.

It was obvious from GP & Consultant reports that my condition was not known at the time of booking / taking out insurance.

Despite this Atlas made life very difficult & continued to ask for information for months on end. Obviously hoping we wouldn't be able to provide such details.

Used this company for a number of years & they were fine taking our money. When needed they did nothing but cause additional stress at a time which was difficult enough.

Do yourself a favour & choose another travel insurance provider.

Worst Customer Services Ever

Cannot get through to customer services on the phone, lines are permanently busy, rings through to recorded message which transfers to a mailbox number which tells me that the mailbox is full and cannot receive anymore messages. Just need to cancel my travel insurance with this unreliable company and receive a refund but cannot even do that.

I've been seeing on the internet that they have been dissolved. I have a policy with them until March 2018. Not happy, looks like our policy is no more.

Could Do Better

Due to Atlas e-mail system being down, I did not get confirmation of a policy I had taken out so I unwisely did it again and still no e-mail. I rang to discuss cancelling one of the policies and got a very rude lady who could only advise me to send an e-mail in to the help desk, she basically didn't want to know my issue.

Staff Need More Training In Customer Service

Use atlas direct for years and never had a problem until now shocking customer service eather they don't answer the phone to you or answer the phone and don't say anything or they just hang up on you shocking customer service obvious they must have changed staff but not for the better they don't answer emails or call me back or their live chat think they all need retrained in customer service after all they are their to help the public so disapointed in you's atlas if this is the way you treat your regular customers god help the new ones if they had the sence they should go else where from now on

I called again and they did not answer asked to leave a voice mail but the voice mail was full.

Q&A

Has this company gone out of business?  I have been trying to contact them for over a week without success.

I have taken out travel insurance with them for my forthcoming holiday and wanted to upgrade the level of cover.

Their website and telephone service are unobtainable and I am considering taking out an additional policy for peace of mind. Can anyone advise me?

S_Randall

I was only able to get in touch with them via their email service, I got a refund on my travel insurance this way. I would not use this company again because I was not able to get in touch with them via the phone.

I am an Aussie expat living in Thailand aged 78 years. My wife and I wish to make a trip to UK and Switzerland for 2 weeks.

Will Atlas Travel cover this trip?

Also we fly to Australia each year for one or two months so for the remaining time I take travel insurance for say 10 months while I am in Thailand.

Do they have a travel policy to cover this period?
