Burglary In Florida
Please, please do not use this company. We were burgled whilst on holiday in florida and it took a year for top dog to pay out ( and even then it was the minimum amount ) They used every means possible to avoid paying.

Good Result
A claim for cancelled holiday was treated quickly - so long as you don't try to email anything. Always sent paperwork by registered post and payment was made. Would recommend especially as cost of insurance was reasonable.

Very Poor Service
I would not recommend this company.
I'm trying to take out a claim for a lost camera and it isn't going well.
They received the claim on 28th October. Told it would take 15 days for it to be looked at!
3 phone calls later, all advisors very polite and still no further forward!
I have had to log a complaint today so will be going to the FCA in 8 weeks if no resolution.
I would welcome a phone call from the complaints team, my number is on file but was told this was not possible.
On the plus side everyone is very nice that you speak to, but the company just not deliver.
Should have read reviews before purchase, learn by my mistake!

Gadget Cover What A Waste Of Money!!
I took premium insurance out with top dog insurance and because I knew my 16 year old son and 20 year old daughter were taking there iPhones and laptop, I thought I better take the extra gadget cover(Joke).
My son put a working phone his pocket and when he pulled it out to use it the LCD screen had got a black dot on it the size of a 5 pence.Looks like the phone had been accidentally damaged in his pocket.
Rang topdog and told the truth about what had happened,i will just have to check the policy(10 mins later) sorry your not covered for that.What! was my response,what iam I covered for, oh you are covered for loss or stolen and accidental damage was the reply.Well doesn't that come under accidental damage I asked,No! Was the reply.
So I asked if I would have smashed it on the floor would that have been covered, he said yes in a smug voice.
I was fuming.I will never use topdog again and neither will any one I know, and there are 500 people were I work and I've posted on all the notice boards and sent emails to all the staff never to use topdog.
This could have been so different topdog.

They Don't Want To Pay Out!!!
I have had a platinum the most expensive insurance and fell on holiday breaking two ribs. Before I went on holiday I had been to see the doctor because I had pain in my shoulder and neck and when I fell and cracked the ribs this caused me to have severe pain in the neck and shoulder as well as the pain from the ribs. The doctor had to give me injections for the pain and I have tried to get the cost back. Because I had hurt myself and consulted the doctor before I went they are saying it is a pre existing illness. However they won't take on board that I would not have seen the doctor unless I had fallen and done more damage. It is a case of simply not wanting to pay out. I only went for pain killers because of the fall! Do not take out top dog insurance. It is anything but Top dog!!!

I bought an annual policy declaring that I took over two tablets for high blood pressure. My medication was altered however my declaration remained the same ie over two tablets for high blood pressure. I paid £52.87 for the policy plus extra for a medical declaration. I phoned this company to advise the change so that the policy would not be invalidated. They are now asking for an extra £70 plus. This is obscene.

When there is a change with a medical condition many insurers may consider it an increase in the risk, which they quantify from statistics of previous claims of such instances, this may mean that to continue to offer cover they will need to charge an additional amount to cover the increased risk as they see it, it is important to note a customer can opt to exclude the condition from cover rather than pay the additional premium. We understand in your case that you do not feel either offer is acceptable to you and that upon speaking to a member of our management team you have been offered the option of a pro-rata refund. Please contact our customer service team to advise how you would like us to proceed. We apologise that we may not have been able to fully meet your expectations on this occasion.

The Most Inefficient Company In The Travel Insurance Market
Long Long Story. But in a nutshell. I had an serious accident in Thailand in January. Was left totally high and dry by this company, seriously injured for over a week. Top dog refused the necessary hospital treatment. I Was promised medical repatriation and business class seats for myself and wife.Contact then stopped leaving me in a very precarious situation.
Still recovering and still in lots of pain due to their inefficiency.
They settled my claim and admitted liability by giving me £1,000 compensation to shut me up. I am very reasonable and would have talked sensible compensation, but I am now forced to go through the Financial Ombudsman, and a National No Win No Fee Lawyer.
I have written to Customer Services Twice. Guess What. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR REPLY
Being a pensioner the stress is enormous. They just DO NOT CARE .
MY ADVICE IS. DO NOT PURCHASE INSURANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY. THEY AND THERE UNDERWRITERS JUST DO NOT CARE.

£300 Cancellation Excess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a 4 night, £336 last minute break in Europe, I chose this insurance company. The flight was cancelled as our party boarded the plane. When I made a claim I was astonished that there was a £300.00 excess was not mentioned or declared in the 2 documents that they emailed. I found it later, as I tried to claim as a (blue read here) within a sentence of the original thank you mail.
Thanks Top Dog Insurance, for the £36.00 refund offered. As a company, surely the cost of my break would black-mark the insurance cover that you recommended.
But I now realise that this company aren't interested in their clients as a priority.Hopefully people will read this and choose wisely.

I would not recommend this company as they make all sorts of excuses when following up a simple claim for around £160.I have sent e mails and telephoned and all to no avail.This claim has been going on for over 5 weeks and anytime I ring I am unable to talk to the member of staff dealing with the claim,usual excuses such as the person you want to speak to is off for a few days or she is too busy dealing with other claims, also leave me your number and she will ring you to morrow.Furthermore if you want to speak to the manager you will never get through.Altogether a very poor customer service and certainly I would not be using this company in the future.

Very Good Service
My husband and I recently had to cancel a trip by train to Italy due to an eye injury. Apart from needing a reminder to send me a claim form, the service that we received from TopDog was very good. I have read some very negative reviews about this company on this site, but can only say that urs was a positive experience and I would have no hesitation about recommending them.
