I had problem applying for a personal loan online, so I went in bank and they gave me a number as it is done over the phone, so called them just from outside the bank, the customer service agent who picked up my call her name is Sharmin, she is an amazing lady helped me redoing my application, went through all application did a soft check quite a few time just to tell me how much money I can borrow, when my application was done, I went is bank to verify my ID just before locking up the doors as it was 15 pass 4, even though they had little time to close the bank, they help me, they spoke to the lady on phone did all paperwork, just when doing paperwork the manager noticed something was not right and he said you had to redo the application again, throughout the branch process I had Sharmin on the line all the time helping with paperwork, so I came out of the bank is it was closed at that time, Sharmin redid my application with the same energy and amazing support, this time we did all our check, and as this was all done on Friday, so had to wait for Monday, as my application was in review Sharmin said she would call me back on Monday, which she did and also called the bank that I'll be coming in for ID verification, and here comes a great part as soon as I walked in the CRAWLEY branch customer service lady recognise me straight away takes me on a desk where the desk person recognise me and greet me with my name and check my ID and then the manager walks in and takes me in his cabin, GREAT TEAM AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE, when I looked around they were helping everybody walking in the branch with that great level of energy . SHARMIN if you reading this, I just wanna say THANK YOU VERY MUCH and also THANK YOU TO Crawley Branch.
Would Not Recommend
It was easy to get the auto loan but making payments on it has been a nightmare. They don't have a way to pay online like most places. If you use your banks bill pay they don't credit your account, so you have to go through getting them to correct it and waive the late fee. Basically, your stuck with snail mail. We will never use them again. Paying it off tomorrow good riddance.

we applied 4 weeks ago. we had to keep phoning the call centre every week. we were promised in would be in the account within 48 hours.. still waiting! now on week 5 and not holding our breath.

easy quick application...acceptance online in minutes...i had a flex current account so was very easy to complete would recommend hassle free , would also highly rec there bank accounts i switched from halifax great all round service.

I changed my current account from Santander to Nationwide last year, hoping to receive a better all round service..... This I got and more. Nationwide are professional and have excellent customer service. I applied for a loan with them. As a current account holder, it's a shorter application and as I bank with them they don't need to make many checks as they know how I run my account. I was given the decision of 'Agreement in Principle' but was extremely impressed to see the funds in my account less than 24hrs later. I am extremely happy with Nationwide and can't think of anywhere else I would go.... certainly not back to Santander!

I applied for a loan on a Saturday, was quoted and accepted within 10 mins. I went through the online loan application which was simple and easy, also got confirmation money would be in my account within 3-5 working days.
After reading some bad reviews i was a little paranoid as i hadn't received any emails or post from them by Wednesday. However, i called them just to make sure everything was ok. I spoke with a lady on the phone who was just excellent and she assured me the money had been actioned and would be in my account within the next few days... depending on my bank as my current account isn't with Nation Wide. Also a welcome pack had been posted to me.
I haven't got a bad word to say about Nation Wide, i thought they were fantastic and i will certainly be thinking about changing my current account to them.
