Bad Platform!

This platform is bad for trading and not cheap at all! Display prices incorrectly and the client service is the worst I have ever seen on similar platforms - you wait for 60 minutes to get them on the phone and usually the person answering the call is not prepared and need to refer to a senior colleague - APPALING client experience! I want to close the account but still struggling to get my money out. Do not recommend it to my worst enemy!

Wasted all day trying to call them (30 min plus evertime), by close of day still not one pick up the call.

DO NOT waste your time with this company. I will be closing my account ASAP if I can get through to someone.

Why On Earth Would Halifax Give Them My Money

Just got a letter from Selftrade saying they have tried several times to contact me , this very first letter to my knowledge. This first letter says there is not enough money in my account to pay their fees , so they will have to sell some shares to cover it. Phoned immediately, 25 minutes of listening to looped music .. Who are these people, if they have my shares how comes I have not had any Statements from them, they supposedly have had the shares for over a year. Do I visit Lancing or Worthing for an answer... Very worried, I am an OAP on limited budget but I will not be taken for a fool by these people.

Selftrade = Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish

The Selftrade platform is a total joke and the admin is woeful. The functionality is so bad and has received no investment. A great example is the inability to download your transactions or dividend payments in order to simplify your capital gains. Its basically a total disaster.

Then there is the admin. It took nearly 6 months to transfer my SIPP to HL. I complained to the Financial Ombudsman and they paid me an ex gratia payment of £200. I wish i had transferred my other account. I am regretting it as I attempt my tax return.

DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS WOEFUL PLATFORM (PLEASE).

when the site finally accepts your log in details it then tells you to wait while the site loads you then sit there waiting for the site to load but nothing happens if you contact them it takes days for them to contact you they appear to have a lack of concern about there clients and for that reason I will be closing my account asap

Software Problems

I have been with Selftrade for several Years and the service has become worse since it was taken over. The help desk is sympathetic but cannot effect change. Some functions that do not work on pc appear to work in Mac environment.

I wish they would tell me their plan to fix it, if they have one, otherwise we should assume they are going to let it die as customers move elsewhere.

Poor Website Response

Have just received my log in details and tried to use the site. Well, what a total load of rubbish. Logging in general works, but once logged in every action of my mouse takes over 3 minutes to get a response from the website, even trying to scroll down the page.

Have reported the problem to customer services who could only suggest that their system was busy and I should try again later. Also spoke to a supervisor who promised to report the problem and to get back to me later that day. Guess what, haven't heard a dicky bird!!!

I am astounded that this company can be in business with such a poor website.

I would never trust this website to trade shares or set up regular investments and will be cancelling my account as soon as is possible

Diabolical - More Incompetent Than I Believed Possible

More incompetent than I would have believed possible. Have now spent nearly two months trying to get into my account. The latest is that I cannot transfer money out as the bank account check does not work - despite showing my correct account details. Apparently they use "third party software" and can't tell me what the problem is.

Not only are they uninterested in their customers but almost seem to be deliberately trying to get rid of them.

As with other reviewers if I could give a zero star rating (or a negative one) I would.

Site Problems Again

Trying to access my account again today to no avail. Cannot access portfolio detail, cursor keeps skipping this entry command, no other means apparent to access my data. This has happened several times now in the last month on different machines. Simply not good enough!

Poor Performance Continues

I have had an account since before the Equiniti takeover and the website is so poor. Terribly slow and often links simply don't work. I have brought this to their attention but get told that my browser is at fault. It really isnt! They have been charging £10.50 per quarter if there is no trading activity which is bad enough but out of the blue they have now decided to charge £12. Steer well clear.
