Shocking experience

Couple of professionals with one kid, flat rented on now 16 with snagging list and carpet replacement agreed, entry date early jan. Entry date postponed twice to end of Jan because the Agency was late with the works -after two months!-. Upon entrance flat completely dirty, none of the broken items had been fixed, no fire alarm, flooring incomplete and last but not least no heating working and no hot water. Agency and landlady completely unsupportive not answering to phone calls or emails and declining management responsibilities. My wife was pregnant and die to deliver and I had to pay for Airbnb temporary accommodation, take time off from work plus lot of distress. Currently still items broken and no fixed, compensation firstly offered then withdrawn, therefore solicitors to be involved on the basis of breach of tendency agreement and house disrepair.

Very very rude! The mid-aged guy was very inefficient and his behaviour was unacceptable when I decided that I would rather take another property, as they weren't able to meet my conditions. "You're making a big mistake" and "You've been a waste of time" is just not something you say to a client. He's a big shame for the company, in my opinion. Won't be using their services ever again.

My husband and I found a nice house in Fulham to rent, managed by Chard Fulham. Everything was ok with the offer - Price agreed, moving date agreed- until we started talking about the contract clauses. Chard made the discussion impossible from minute zero, imposing abusive conditions completely out of standard contracts - e.g.24 months breaking clause, not even breakable in case of redundancy. In the end we were so tired of their manners and abusive conditions that we withdrew the offer. No property is worth to be treated like this.

They are happy to play with people´s expectations and honesty in order to get the biggest commission possible.

We had to withdraw the offer but at least we are happy to know that a more decent agency has rented the same property under far more fair conditions.

I rented Through chard Fulham, the guy that showed me the flat was good at first, but wouldn't take no for an answer, we needed a parking space.... We found a flat that we thought was great and told it came with a parking space.... Moved in 2 months later, went on to apply for a parking space, there isn't one with the flat!

Paying a fortune to park my car else where!

The manager was just as pushy as the flat estate agent!

Chard is part of Thamesview Estate Ltd. Sadly they do not communicate with each other. Speak to Chard and then waste your time having the same conversation with the admin at Thamesview. Serious need of a customer care course intiative.

I'm soon moving into a property which is rented by chard. Till the agreement it was all good.... They were rally helpful negotiating etc But now I feel they are slipping re coming back with queries, move in date & time etc. having read the remaining reviews And the service received so far I feel this was a huge mistake. I hope I can rate them better once I've started living in the property. So far, won't be recommending them to anyone....

These agents seemed professional enough - until I sold my property through another agent and when trying to get my keys back from them, got such a huge range of lies from them. They lost my keys and yet somehow I was the one who was calling them on 7 separate occasions and only once did someone call me after 10 working days to say they had simply no idea where the keys were. I was told they were in the post, with another agent, etc.. I was left with a large bill having to change the locks due to their totally unprofessional manner and didn't even get an apology. Don't use these guys. There are much more professional agents out there! I posted a similar review on another site and their head of customer relations responded to say that someone would be in touch with me. And you guessed it, no call or any form of communication...

I have rented in London for 7 years, have always paid my rent on time and left the properties in the condition in which they were rented (less expected wear and tear). Subsequently, I have always received a full refund of my deposit. That was of course until I rented through Chard,total deposit reclaim £400+. This included £100 for cleaning, yet the flat and carpets had been professionally cleaned days before i vacated the property. The condition report contained "patchy paint work", I lived in the flat for a year and have no idea where the picture of this was taken, but one thing is for sure, the paintwork was the responsibility of the builders who renovated the flat not me. In my view, these guys will try it on to retain as much of your money as possible. Honestly if you are reading this because you are looking at a flat through Chard, find another flat!

The lettings manager is absolutely terrible. It's like she pays you to rent the property. Doesn't know what customer service means.
