Fantastic

Bought my Vauxhall mokka 4 weeks ago. The sales person was very helpful & I collected my car within 2 days. 3 weeks later the driver window would not close, I though here we go I can't close the window no garage to keep the car overnight,,,,, I rang Ron Skinner's at 5 pm & was greeted by No problem we will fix it asap. within the hour 2 of the boys turned up & took my car back. I had a call in the morning to say the window switch needed replacing & the part was ordered...... Next phone call was that it was repaired & they were delivering my car back...What excellent aftercare service this is. Its very hard to find this nowdays as once you leave the garage no one cares but Ron Skinner stepped up to the mark. The same day as I bought my car my Father in Law bought a car from Toyota brand new out of the showroom. His windscreen cracked within 2 weeks. he is still waiting for an appointment to get his problem rectified,,,,, I choose the right company

Excellent Service With Great Cars To View

Both myself and my brother have bought a car from Ron Skinner. I myself bought a Volvo V60 and my brother a Ford . We both had a great deal and the service we were given was second to none. My car in particular saved me £3000 on the local Volvo dealer who has since serviced the car on two occasions and I have had no problems with the car at all .I rang them up prior to my visit to ensure that the car would be held for me no mention was made of a deposit to keep the car . On arrival they showed me the car and no pressure was applied in any way for me to buy. They answered all my questions and in my opinion the whole experience was completed in a very professional way. I will return to them again to purchase my next car if they have the one I want. Thank you again for the excellent service you gave me.

Salesman Told Me Lies

In May I purchased a 2011 Ford Mondeo with 37000 miles on the clock and a FSH from Ron Skinner. Prior to buying from them I was warned by a friend that they sold ex day rental cars.

I went to look at the car and asked the salesman about its previous owner and explained to him about my concerns about buying an ex rental, he told me it was an ex company car and definitely not a rental. Three weeks later I received the logbook and to my surprise the previous owner was Hertz! I called Herts and they confirmed it was an ex day rental car!

Subsequently the car has been back to the manufacturers 9 times to date for various mechanical repairs under warranty as it obviously, being an ex rental has not been looked after.

Also I was not told by the salesman it only had one key so I have had to buy another from Fords for £200, I have been waiting for a piece of trim to be replaced by Ron Skinner for 6 weeks and keep on getting fobbed off by them saying it is on order but I have enquired with Fords and the trim is readily available! When I have complained the management just don't care and have told me I have got a "Friday Afternoon Car".

Please be careful when buying from them. I would NEVER buy another from them Ever again!

Rude Staff, Poor Customer Care

Wouldn't recommend these to anyone, awful customer service and very unhelpful staff. I drove over 60 miles to view a particular car and when I asked for a test drive they said no unless I'm defiantly putting a deposit down that day, talk about trying to force someone into buying. Guy was rude and unhelpful, left waiting for over half hour with no salesperson coming to see if I needed anything and that is the response I had when I approached them.

I would suggest you go and spend your money elsewhere.

Excellent Value Cars!

Having visited Ron Skinners on many occasions to “window shop”, I have always noticed that they have a nice variety of cars for all genres ranging from sports cars to small and mid-sized family hatchbacks. The majority of the cars are less than two years old, with low mileage and are reasonably priced in contrast to other dealerships across the country.

This week, I decided to go shopping for my next hatchback having encountered numerous problems with my previous purchase from another local car dealership. As this was my first purchase from Ron Skinner and Sons, I wanted to ensure that they would offer a good part-exchange price on my current vechicle. I was somewhat dubious at first having heard numerous rumours that Ron Skinners tend to under-value part exchanged cars. However, I was relatively pleased with the price he had offered on my ’08 plate Renault Megane considering the visible defects it had.

Moving on to the sales-team… when I visited, it was on a Saturday, the showroom was quite hectic with other families browsing the assortment of cars on offer. One thing which I dislike profoundly is a pushy sales-man, someone who latches themselves on to you to make a bit of commission off a potential sale, whilst selling you something you later regret! – In Ron skinners, the sales-men take a background approach, they’re on standby ready to assist you, but won’t approach unless asked, something to which I admire – for others, this may be a negative, for myself though, I much prefer to view a car in my own leisure without someone stalking your every move!

When I approached the sales-man, he was a well-spoken gentleman, very friendly. He promptly assisted me in valuing my existing car as well as explaining the features of the car of my interest. He helped establish my usage, informed me of the key features about the car, as well as the running costs such as tax, fuel economy, etc. Throughout my purchase, he ensured that I was well informed and that the car I had chosen was the right choice – I felt at ease and re-assured throughout the entire process.

Moving on, the transactional and turn-around process is relatively prompt. Having put a deposit on the car the same day (Saturday), they had the car ready for me the following Monday – the transfer of documents, car tax and initial payment was slipstream.

Regarding the after care service, I can’t really comment on this as of yet (and hopefully won’t have too, providing I have no problems with my recent purchase). I sincerely hope though for the reputation of the company that aftercare service retains the high standards displayed throughout my initial selection and purchase of the vehicle.

I Searched For Ron Skinner Reviews To See If Anyon

I searched for Ron Skinner reviews to see if anyone has had the same warranty problem as me.

I purchased a 22 month old Renault Laguna from ron skinner and was told that it had over a year left of the manufacturer warranty. I had the car 4 months when the diesel turbo developed a serious fault and had to be replaced. I contacted ron skinner who told me to take it to my local renault dealer which I did.

Only then I found out the car was an import and did not have the same manufacturers warranty!

They have a good selection of cars, but make sure you check whst you are buying as many of the cars are imports and don't have the same warranty. Also do not take their sales reps word, ask for PROOF of service history an that it's not an import, as the rep will not disclose this u less you ask. Not happy.

Ron Skinner Review. Beware - It's Not Until Y

Ron Skinner Review.

Beware - It's not until you get a problem that you find out how bad their customer service is.

Ron Skinner rely on their car's having manufacturer's warranty left on them to take the bother off them if things go wrong.

My wife's Nissan broke down the day after purchasing it and Ron Skinner advised us to take it to the nearest Nissan garage saying 'if it's a warranty problem, Nissan will sort it, if it's not then Ron Skinner will pay for it'. Rubbish!

Nissan informed me that the manufacturer's warranty was void as it had no service history, Ron Skinner said they had serviced so there, we don't care!

In the meanwhile, Ron Skinner have sold a vehicle that has been misrepresented as there is no warranty on it as they said it had, is unfit for purpose as it broke down the day after purchase and I am left with a big bill from the Nissan dealer.

The worse part of all this is that I gave Ron Skinner loads of chances to put this right, but they continually failed to phone me back with all matter of lame excuses.

I'm now rejecting the goods under the sale of goods act and Ron Skinner just said, 'go ahead and do what you got to do'.

Lesson learned - Avoid Ron Skinner, unless you want a great deal of stress and expense.

These guys are bad news.

The cars are a good price almost new and very inviting.

As long as nothing goes wrong.

Their service department is a bloke with a rubber stamp and plenty of ink.

They do nothing to their cars except stamp your book, manufacturers will not recognize them as a service to their vehicles thus no warranty.

Most of their cars are ex rental but that is no major issue that's why they are cheap.

The worst part is you buy a car they stamp the book saying just been serviced when it hasn't.

You then drive another 12,000 on clapped out oil and take years off your engine if you are fortunate enough that your timing chain does not fail.

My advice is if you buy from them change your own oil & filter immediately for piece of mind very little cost by comparison.
