I've Owned The Hyundai Tucson Gls 2.7 For Six Mont
I've owned the Hyundai Tucson GLS 2.7 for six months now and it has been in the service center FOUR times now, all for dead batteries! Every hundred miles or so, I come out to use the truck and the battery is dead! It's been in at the dealer now for two weeks and they cannot find the drain! They "think" it's the radio turning on by itself but are unsure. They are going to replace the radio and hope it cures this situation.
I really like the truck. However, I cannot keep something that is as unreliable as this truck is.
Also, concerning the dealership where I got my truck, while in their possession my truck got all scratched up and the paint scuffed. Goes to show how well they care about their customers' vehicles!

I Will Be Honest And Say That After My Experience
I will be honest and say that after my experience with the Korean Kia Sportage I was not exactly expecting much from the Hyundai Tucson, however , I was impressed. The basic model here in Oz basically comes with everything except a sunroof. My wife and 2 girls find the car very comfortable on long journeys, even at motorway speeds there is little wind noise and the cruise control does a capable job keeping the car at the same speed up and down hills. The engine is willing as is the auto gear box, no complaints in that department! However, I have come to one conclusion that the Tucson no matter what Hyundai say is designed to run on 91 ron petrol, the Tucson drinks this petrol faster than myself drinking a can of imported Tetleys beer! The Tucson is far happier and gives much better petrol consumption and performance when running on 95 and above ron petrol. Having now covered 12000 kms I must say I am very happy with or Tuscon even down to the MP3 player. Would I have bought a 2.7 V6 back in England? Sorry the answer would have been no, due to the high petrol consumption and of course the price of petrol, I would however opted for the diesel version, which however is not available here in Oz, which is a great shame, perhaps I will get the opportunity here for the diesel in a few years!

The Hyundai Tucson Gls 2.7 2wd Suv Has A Few Bugs
The Hyundai Tucson GLS 2.7 2WD SUV has a few bugs in its system for the first go round. I have owned my new SUV for about 2 months now and it has been in the dealership shop 4 times for a total of 13 days. The first time for a faulty fuel gage which was told to me at that time was just a glitch. The 2nd and 3rd time was also for the fuel gage, but the check engine light was on so they replaced the fuel pump, gas tank floats and sending units, and made some adjustments. The fourth time---hopefully the last for a while--- was also for the check engine light and they changed the ECM twice in a six day stay over and other various items including the brake booster? Needless to say I like my new auto and I would like it much more if I didn't have to see the inside of the garage again anytime soon. But the fuel mileage my Tucson gets is ridiculous, I don't know how they can advertise 22-26 miles to a gallon when I am lucky to get 20 mpg. I have the 6 cylinder (but also own a full size Chevy truck with V-8 and it almost gets better mileage than the Hyundai). So you might want to think about letting the "glitches" get worked out of this new vehicle before you invest in it and if you do get one anyway- Good luck!
