Auto Clutch Failure At 40,000 Km Aud$12,000 Repair Bill
Told the Peugeot dealer about the 2,4,6 auto clutch shuddering when engaging second gear - denied of course. Kept driving, towed 1.7 Tonne caravan 5,000 km. made the slip very obvious and the dealer replaced the dual clutch under warranty at 45,000 km.
Now I am too anxious to tow again so will have to trade it to get a real towing vehicle. shame because it is good to drive, plenty of power

We Towed A 1.2tonne Tvan To Mungo Lakes In Mud! Ca
We towed a 1.2tonne TVan to Mungo lakes in mud! Car was amazing! We are really impressed with it's towing ability and economy of the diesel engine. We used coil rite airbags in rear suspension of the 4007 to enhance and lift towing ability

What A Shame, I Gave The Peugeot 4007 2.2 Hdi Gt A
What a shame, I gave the Peugeot 4007 2.2 HDi GT a glowing review at 24,000 miles but by 39,000 it needed a new clutch at a staggering £1,305 fitted. The clutch was only under warranty for 20,000 miles, a sure sign that Peugoeut knew it was weak. They agreed to pay 25%; I think it should still be fully covered.
I towed a trailer (250kg gross) only 3 or 4 times on a 7 mile round trip. The majority of its life is on the motorway or A roads.
I never 'ride the clutch' and never had to replace one before in 30 years of driving. WATCH OUT THE CLUTCH IS WEAK & IS NOT UP TO THE JOB OF TRANSFERRING THE TORQUE THE ENGINE DELIVERS.
I found this review very helpful because...I though my 4007 was just fabulous until the gear box went at 16 months old had to wait six weeks for repair during the bad snow last year over the Christmas and New Year period. Now the 4007 has been in the dealership from 16 th Nov 2010 awaiting front spring Peugeot hope to have replacement part by 6th December as they informed me today they have sourced and tested a non genuine replacement part from somewhere. This is the second winter so bad snow and I have never experienced its four by four power as its been off the road. Peugeot Customer Service consistantly apologise which does not resolve the situation of not having the veichle when it can come into its own.

Where Was This Car When I Wasted £20k On A
Where was this car when I wasted £20k on a new X-Trail in 2004. Worst reliability car in my whole driving career and that includes my 1974 Vauxhall Viva!
The 4007 was an ex-demonstrator from Fussell-Wadman of Devizes, its been great so far and Fussell-Wadman have been equally great in getting service work done promptly and well.
The car has 24,000 miles on it now and so far no concerns of note.
