Suzuki XL 7

Bought My Suzuki XL7 2.7 from new in 2003 covered 58,000 not a huge amount but within this time apart from a new hydraulic hose for the power steering it has never missed a beat.Great all round vehicle and whilst I have since bought another 4X4 I would not part with My XL7 just to practical and useful. Good pulling power,good driving visibility.a lot of car for the money. But a little thirsty around 20-21 mpg no matter how I drive it.

Plenty of space as I have it in 5 seat mode. Great. Love it. Had it from new and don't think will change it now.

Had my Suzuki XL 7 since 2003, 80,000 miles, had the car converted to run on LPG, best thing I ever did. As far as I know mine was the first car converted in England, this cased a few initial problems with the replacement fuel tank. But good. I have towed an 8 ton boat across a boat yard, with no problems. Added a few extras, black out windows, bull bars, side bars, rear spoiler, all in the best possible taste! The original tyres are not good, when't through tow sets in 30,000 miles, so changed to Michelin € s marked improvement in road holding off and on road, 20,000 miles and no wear good recommended.

I find the first and to a certain extent the second gears are very very slow and the change of gear has to be time perfectly in order to obtain the a smooth drive. I can only get up to 20mph in 1st gear and that is pushing it and it seems to stop there and wont go any faster. Is it me or the vehicle"?

Very happy with the Suzuki XL 7 but each time it has been serviced I have been very very disappointed with the assistance I have received. I would not recommend any of the Suzuki garages I have taken my car to.

Bought the XL7 as a replacement for an Espace. It has more usable space, better rear seat access (it really does!), more power and has the benefit of 4 wheel drive.

After 6 months, no issues with reliability, service from my local dealer has been good. The only real gripe is with poor tyre wear on the standard fit Bridgestones. Original set changed at 19k miles, this is really poor.

Would I recommend? It's simply the best value seven seat four x four on the road. Yes definitely recommend this one.

Within six months car the Suzuki XL 7 4x4 was recalled once, lost power on several occasions and in garage for 4 weeks, broke down and in garage for three weeks and still no conclusion to problem. No faith in Dealership or Manufacturer as nobody seems to be forthcoming with any help on our situation.

Techincally, a capable performer and a sound car.

It gets a beating on the interiors, though, as compared to the other cars in its segment.

Decent drive both in city and off-road. As best bet if loaded with ABS.

True value for money. Lacks brand-name.

I have been driving my Suzuki XL7 for 6 moths now, and I must say I am very impressed with it. For the money this is one heck of a Car with rear air conditioning, 16-inch aluminum wheels, and an AM/FM stereo system that includes an in-dash CD player. Safety isn't overlooked either with anti-lock brakes, fog lamps, and anti-intrusion bars in the doors.

I have the Automatic version with 4 Wheel Drive. I picked the XL7 mainly because I wanted a 'Proper' 4WD with low/high Range and a separate chassis. I also looked at the Honda and the Mazda, but their 4WD SUVs are basically built for the suburbs rather than the rougher roads. Don't get me wrong, performance on the Highway is just as important to me as efficiency on the rough stuff. The XL7 handles the Highway as well as a standard sedan , its V6 engine gives plenty of smooth power and the separate chassis ensures a quiet and smooth ride. Basically this SUV is the best compromise between a rugged SUV and a Sedan that I have ever come across.

Any problem areas? At this stage not really, the luggage area is quite small with all the seats up, but I guess if you have 7 people on board you can't expect a lot of room to be left over.

Suzuki have come up with a nice all-round SUV that feels tough and reliable, if you want a 'Proper' 4WD without buying a Full Size SUV you should check it out..
