Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon 4.2 TD

can anyone help with, i have a toyota landcruiser amazon 2001 4.2tdi auto, was doing 22 mpg and suddenly gone down to 14.5mpg. runs as sweet as a nut everything seems ok recent service , no leaks or splits in any pipes, pulls fine, starts well just can't work it out

Can somebody please help. My Land Cruiser is 10 years old and I love it. A problem I have at the moment is , I can be driving along and suddenly the engine management light appears and I lose power to the poiny where my car will only travel at around 20mph with very little revs. I stop, turn the ignition key off, turn the ignition key on and the management light goes off and I am back to full power,

My current Amazon is My second Amazon which has covered 117000 basically trouble free miles. The only issues I have had have been withe air conditioning system which has been irritating also expensive to fix.it may not be as fashionable as a Range Rover, but the vehicle is ultra reliable with a classic statesman like look.I can,y think of anything I don't like about the vehicle.it tows my large caravan fully loaded with ease.I would recommend this vehicle to any potential purchaser as the best in it's class by far,it will never let you down, whatever the weather can throw at it. The best 4x4 by far. I have also owned 2 range Rovers and 2 Discoveries neither are a patch on the Amazon.The Local Dealer service is also excellent, they actually care and make sure you are satisfied with the product

We run three toyota Amazon 4.2td pulling Horse Ambulances all over the country each doing 30--70 thousand miles a year all towing. Yes they will wear parts out but our lowest mileage one has 224000 . they are extreamly

reliable very low depreciation and safe when fully loaded. wouldn't consider other makes now.

Massive, fairly economical (4,2 TD), secure family wagon. "Impossible" to get stuck. Perfect during Norwegian winters. Very reliable (except Torque Converter until mid 2001). I think it's the best car I've owned (amongst about 50 cars). Comfortable to drive, safe in a collision, perfect view also for kids. Highly recommended.

this is the third landcrusier i have owned two 80 series and now the amason wood have nothing else the best 4x4 by far

One only has to look in countries like the Far East and most of all in Africa. The owners in these countries are very hard on their vehicles driving them anywhere with out a second thought, even to a point as using them to plough their farm field in places in Africa. They are not the best at keeping them regularly serviced and clean, but they never seem to give up, just keep going. They out preform the majority of the 4x4's on the market today!

I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a trust worthy 4x4, weather to take them overland in Africa or just as a family vehicle. You will be very proud as you pass the other 4x4's stuck or broken down in the African heat whilst in the coolness of the Toyota Land Cruiser!

Toyota are very proud of their vehicles and are always very reasonable in their servicing! Parts can be pricey, but as long as you don't keep wrecking your vehicle, you wouldn't have to worry as they don't make a habit of braking down all the time!

Fuel....well this all depends on you and how you drive! heavy foot equals heavy fuel consumption! On average I get 28/gallon down to 26/gallon towing.

I bought a toyota land cruiser amazon 1999 five years ago I use it hard for work every day it now has 120K no problems. Its so good I have bought another a 2006 model and am keeping it for the good car in the mean time.

Toyota extended guarantee is not clear as they make a big claim that you will have no worries once bought as states that it is as good as the original guarantee.
