Poor Build Quality On New 2013 Nissan Micra

We took delivery at the begining of May 13 which was a month late due to recall on Brake master cylinder.

We noticed a problem with the rear offside door not being flush with the body. It looked as though it was not shut. We took it back to Nissan and they tried to adjust without success. We then gave it back to them for a week. It came back but was still not correct then we noticed that the both nearside doors were also not aligned correctly so gave it back again this time they had it for 2 weeks but did not contact us at all in that time to say what was happening. We have it back but things are still not right. so will be goinng back again not happy.

More Reliable Than Death

I bought my Micra when I changed to a new job 35 miles away that I couldn't get to by train (didn't have a car previously). I didn't want to spend much since if I was only using for getting to work whatever I spent seemed like a straight reduction in my salary. Got a 52-plate with about 60k on the clock for £1200, and in three years it has not once let me down. It's started up first time every day, even when the temperature plunged below -10, and has cost very little to maintain. No it's not going to set your pulse racing, and the styling is a bit noddy-ish, but it does the job I bought it for extremely well. Even though I could have bought a much pricier car by now I don't really see the point - I'm going to keep the Micra until it dies, which by the looks of things may well be after I do!

Fabulous Little Car!!

As a 17 year old, my first car was very important to me so when i stumbled upon my little Micra i wasnt too sure at first due to their rep as beig old lady cars, however i'm glad i bought it! at 37500 miles my 52 plate was a bargain! full service history and no major damage, scratches there are plenty of due to the elderly owner before me having some medical issues. the steering is light, and the gear box is brilliantly smooth. the size of the car is perfect for a 17 year old, small enough that insurance doesnt cripple you, but big enough for four teenagers to make a mcdonalds run at lunch time. the 1.0 engine is powerful enough for such a little car with only 1 or 2 people in it but when theres four of you and luggage be prepared for a long acceleration to 60mph...however its nippy in town allowing for quick get aways at traffic lights and roundabouts. im so glad i bought my little Micra as my first car, rather than the standard corsa or clio because its ridiculously cheap to insure and run and they are evidently reliable judging by the amount of them still on the road today. safe to say i would happily drive my car for the rest of my life if it was possible. this is a car that i would recommend to anyone and i may even upgrade and get one of the newer ones when i can afford to because i love the micra brand so much. also the cute factor of the nissan micra is unreal! the little bubble shape just makes me so happy because its so cute. :)

My Nephew Calls It, Mr Bean's Car Lol

I own Nissan Micra 1.0L, which is very nice car and had NO problem at all so far. My last trip gave me around 35mpg in town, i don't know whether that is good or not.

Hmm, when there is more than one person, the car feels abit heavy and needs to be accelerated abit harder. But again, it is 1.0L car. It very good for shopping, and short journies i guess,... but of course you can take it to the motorway... I reached with this baby around 99mph while coming back from Brighton last summer.

Overall, very good car

Dark Horse

had this car nearlyear now, after looking for a car with a small engine for insurance reasons settled on this and havent looked back, 16v twin cam engine really pulls allowing overtakes of 5 or more cars on regular ocasions on singe carrage way roads! unpopular with boy racers but a sound engine will take a thrashing and beat saxo's corsa and such, good for drag racing on streets as it gets off the line quick, only regret is price of coilovers at £500 cheapest meaning slamming it to get hellastance is a costly option

Faster Cars Go Past Me ,but They Are Still At The Lights When I Get There.

my brother owned this car for 4years before me,and i have owned it for 6 years.it's been to Ireland about 12 times and to france twice.and to blackpool about 8 times. without any trouble.the only problem that i have now is that the panhard needs replacing as when you take a sharp bend it makes a slight knocking sound.cheap and easy to fix myself.i have been driving it like this ,now for about 1 year i will fix it ONE day,yet it sails through the mot.

This Is An Excellent Car, I'm 18 And I've Had This

This is an excellent car, I'm 18 and i've had this for a year, prior to my gran who owned it since new, due to a work commute of 350 miles per day, and the fact it was heavily used by my gran who took regular trips to france and scotland in it, the car has now covered 187,000 miles from new in March 2003.

This version is the Special Edition 1.0 Twister, with Air con, Parking sensors, heated seats and a CD Player. This, for the £6k my gran payed is brilliant. The interior is also very nice, as it's not all bland and grey, it has a lot of light blue highlights that give it an airy feel, although quality of the materials, especially lower down on the doors which is prone to ripping. The boot is large, considering the size of the car, 290 litres of space which is enough for a large 5 man tent and luggage for 3 people for a weeks holiday.

Mechanically the car is sensational, with no faults, breakdowns or parts replaced apart from the basics, water, oil and tyres... and to get all this, plus superb fuel economy (52mpg +) and seriously good driving dynamics (no joke!) the car is a winner with me!

There are only two downsides, the first being the sheer size of the car means that I, (at 5 foot 11), when seated comfortably, cause a serious lack of legroom behind me, only short people will fit, and the second gripe i have is that the 1.0 engine is fine for plodding around town in, it's quite nippy, however show it a motorway and it lacks grunt and althogh it pootles along at 80 quite comfortably, it takes an age to get there, and you have to strangle the engine to get there. That would be ok if it made a nice noise, however it sounds like a baby crying when you rev it, it squeals like anything, so if you do a lot of motorway miles, i would probably recommend the 1.4. Still if you do a lot of town mileage, this car is for you, highly recommended from me!

My First Car Was A 1996 Nissan Micra 1.0, But Afte

My first car was a 1996 Nissan Micra 1.0, but after an accident last year I chose to sell it and replace it. Being 18 I needed a car similar in size and power. I looked at Ford Fiestas and Renault Clios but I struggled to find one within my £2000 budget with under 90,000 miles. After a lot of searching I bought another Nissan Micra, this time a mint 2002 1.0, with 70k, metallic paint, remote central locking, electric windows, etc for just £1250.

The best things about the car for me is that it surprisingly good handling, and returns around 45mpg. The only criticisms I have of the car is, although very nippy around town, it can feel underpowered on the country roads and the gearbox does not feel as smooth as my old Micra. However it can happily cruise at 70mph+ on a motorway, with little wind noise.

I would recommend the car to anyone looking for a small runabout that is cheap to run. I would also tell any young driver to consider a Micra over a Clio, as they are cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, and a lot more reliable.

I Was Looking For A Car For My Wife As A New Drive

I was looking for a car for my wife as a new driver and she has an auto only licence. First of all we got a Ford Fiesta 1.2LX 1998 in August. It was rubbish!, the auto transmission would always lock and it would often stall when placed into drive 'D'. The interior was nice though. After this bad experience I did my research and discovered that the Micra K11 is probably the best, most reliable small Automatic you can buy. So we brought one, a 1998 Eq 1.0L Auto in Red. It had done 58,000 miles had a full service history for £1000. Well what can I say? it's a great car! It has never let us down, and indeed is very reliable and economical, even with the Thirsty Auto Gear Box. The interior is not quite as nice as a Ford and no electric windows, but who cares!? It even starts and runs well in the snow. The N-CVT is also very smooth and reliable -unlike the small European designed Automatics of this time - which always seem to go wrong after about 50,000 miles. It is also surprisingly fast for a 1.0L car - and leg room in the rear is good for a small 3 door car - you can get 4 people in it! I would recommend buying one of these - do not get frustrated and get ripped off like us and have the head ache of a small European Auto - keep going wrong, and no proper cost effective way of repair - Buy a Nissan Micra K11!
