Hire Car

I was given a Toyota Aygo hire car whilst my vehicle was in for repair, I can honestly say it is the worst car, if you can call it a car I have ever driven. Build quality 0 Performance 0 it’s so small you struggle just to get in it.

The road holding leaves a lot to be desired, would not recommend driving it into bend at at any speed, plus it wanders all over the road even on the straights , it’s hard work just keeping it in a straight line.

It’s so underpowered it’s boarder line dangerous just taking it out into traffic, Attempting to join a motorway is actually frightening, because you can’t get up enough speed on the slip road to merge safely into the motorway traffic, even the large HGV vehicles are travelling faster than this vehicle can achieve. any incline in the road and you need to change down to third as the vehicle is incapable of getting up any sort of a gradient in forth or fifth gears.

Would I recommend this vehicle definitely not, would l recommend avoiding this vehicle at all costs yes.

Clutch Problems At 28,000mls

Have reached 28,000 miles and now have clutch problems. The problems seem to stem from a low spec component and the problem seems common according to info found on various internet car sites. Would not expect to hit such a major and expensive problem on a modern car. I drive in automatic, so driving style does not come into it. So far, Toyota's attitude to this problem is poor - many think that they should have recalled the car and corrected the problem. Very disappointing - you buy a new little car that you expect to be able to do a reasonable number of miles in before paying out for expensive repairs and ..... Disgusting.

The Worst Car I Have Ever Driven.

Homer Simpson couldn't have designed a worse car. It is horrible to drive and if it was stolen I'd be glad. Buy one of these for someone you hate

Totally agree, but this is being derogatory to Homer Simpson.

Nice Car!

I went for a quick business trip to Scotland and rented a car (from Listers)for a couple of days. Although in the begging I was bickering that the company actually booked me such as small car I must say I was positively impressed in the first couple of hours.

It is small enough to easily find parking, while inside there was plenty of space for me and my colleagues. It really has a very smooth drive not to mention the semi-automatic mode which is extremely relaxing and convenient for long drives (even though this car is designed for city use). Furthermore, the gas consumption was at an acceptable level. The additional car accessories provided were so cool! I could connect my smartphone through Bluetooth and use my phone through the car, there were ports for mp3 connection and parking assistance, I never knew Toyota could offer all those nice features (wonder how much they cost though). I will definitely consider Toyota when I ready to buy my next car (currently I am driving an old Renault car).

What An Amazing Car

I have only owned a Toyota Aygo for two days after waiting for it for two months. I have to say I already loved the car before I even purchased it and so far it has exceeded my expectations. It is still very rigid and sluggish (I only did 100 kms) but I extect that to disappeare as soon as I take it on the open road. The new engine is still heavy on petrol and needs to get used to spinning (and so I'm told) so I expect it to perform more efficiently after

I take it for 1000kms ride this weekend. The sound system is ammazing (I added the sub-woofer) and I drive slower now (withing the speed kimids) because I want to arrive at my destinations later than normal (while I endulge in complete comfort). NO MORE SPEEDING FINES!

I will update this after my 1000kms ride. I should get 20kms on a liter (at least).

The Worst Car Ever!!

After months of researching I decided to purchase the Toyota Aygo. It seemed like the best city car around and after all Toyota do have a reputation for quality - or so I thought. I purchased the Aygo Black 5 door model from RRG, I mention this because the service is almost as terrible as the car. After driving the car for only 1 week I experienced a total brake failure and narrowly missed having a terrible accident. I returned the car the RRG to be told that as a goodwill gesture (!) they would sort this out. They would not offer a loan car or even collect the car from me. This meant that I had to have a day off work to drive a car with no brakes back to the garage and sit in the waiting room for 5 hours whilst the problem was resolved. Just sitting in the waiting room was an eye opener as I watched customer after customer coming in with complaints.

A few months later I took my new car to the local hand car wash. It was here I and my young daughter soon realised that none of the window seals were water tight. To say we were drenched was an understatement. I contacted RRG again only to be met with a very unhelpful person who insisted that the car would have to come in and be tested over a 2 day period to see if the windows did infact leak. The photograohic evidence I had was apparently not enough. As I couldn't do without my car I had to let this go. We've never been able to take it to a car wash since. Although after a heavy downpour of rain we are known to get a little wet! I tend to put plastic bags over my seats overnight if it's going to rain otherwise you get a wet bottom the next day. Another rather nice effect of this is that the stale rainwater that has over the years soaked into the carpets gives of a delightful aroma.

The next item to break was the door on the glove box. Everytime you stopped the car the glovebox flew open scattering the contents onto the floor. Again the car was returned and a replacement door was fitted. This also dropped open at will. I contacted RRG again and I was told all the doors are the same i.e they don't stay closed.

My first winter in the Aygo was a nerve racking experience. Be prepared to slide around in standing water. And even the lightest ground frost causes the car to skid. Ice on the road? Don't even bother. My husband was so concerned with the handling of the car in these conditions he put 2 bags of sand in the boot in an attempt to hold the thing on the road.

After 2 years I started to notice the rusting. Around the wheels and all the rivets on the windows, mirrors, wipers etc. Apparently the bodywork is not covered by the warranty.

My front wiper rusted so badly that the mechanism snapped and it flew off whilst in use and hit a passing car.

After 3 years the car began with an intermittent fault with starting. Basically sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't. This is something I have lived with but to date I have to turn the ignition between 6 -10 times before the car will start.

The MPG they quote is not achievable.

Any positives? It is quite a nice drive for a city car.

I'm about to swop for a Honda Civic.

Was Purchased New For Wife's Job, And The Car Has

Was purchased new for wife's job, and the car has now covered around 40,000 miles averaging mid to high 50s per gallon. Has been totally reliable so far. It's very easy to drive. Steering, gearbox and clutch are amazingly light. The foot brake is fine although a little too sensitive for my tastes.

Boot is small, but rear seats easily fold in a jiffy giving more than adequate space for the supermarket trip. Instrumentation and radio is basic, but very clear and adequate. The eager three cylinder engine is a real gem, and almost seems to enjoy what it's doing. Its flexibility means that in top gear the car seems equally happy to potter around at 40mph or blast down the motorway at 70+.

Road holding is very reasonable for a car of this type.

Overall, we're very happy with it. Time will tell if reliability continues. Well recommended.

It's A Lovely Car But It Could Look More Solid Bui

It's a lovely car but it could look more solid building. Sometimes I think the parts of the car could fall apart... it's a feeling, there's missing that Toyota touch inside, which looks more Peugeot or Citroen.

However it's a good and funny car.
