The Focus Estate Looked Like The Best Option At Th
The focus estate looked like the best option at the time we chose it, and we went for a three year old 1.6 turbo diesel. The car was great for the first couple of months, until the turbo failed. This was a shock as it had been fitted with a new one when we bought it. Shame as the car was food in all other respects. Ford weren't interested as it was just out of warranty. Very expensive to fix, so cut our losses and sold it fast. Went back to a Vauxhall astra and have been smiling ever since!
I found this review very helpful because...we have the 1.6 90 bhp tdci as a taxi been worst car in 25 years experiance as a taxi opererater huge repair bills.due to blocked particulte filter £700 to replace & lasted 10 months turbo another £800 regeneration fluid over £200 a gallon ,smaller quantities not available, engine warning lights popping up car gooes into limp mode back to main dealer £80 to clear fault (temporary fix) noisy clattery engine poor mpg performance. unreliable due to sudden loss of power without warning ,not a safe car to overtake with ,a bad starter engine churns considerably on cold mornings this ford 1.6 tdci 90 bhp estate has virtually bankrupted us due to engine malfunction .bills time off road and lost business.
